Playing his heart out and I appreciate that but man do miss Stafford slinging that rock to Kupp. I hope they come back and kick ass next year along with AD. Last year was so much fun, this year wow what a bummin ass struggle fuck. Sorry guys im just down about it. Peace.

He's playing with depth shitters up front and at WR vs starters. Nothing to see here other than that he can rifle some throws in nicely when he gets time.

If McVay wants to not get him killed he is going to need to run the fucking ball 25+ times per game the rest of the way. That will balance shit and allow the offense to get some great play action looks in the pass game. Mayfield is good enough to run this offense even with a bad line if the play action is there.

no Qb is good behind the oline we got going

baker is nothing special though.. he is what he is

I honestly thought he played well. Should've had 2 TDs with that Tutu dropped, and on that pick he would've hit Sko in stride it out OL wasn't trash.
The OL sucks, but Baker is 100% at fault for that play. The OL gave him a huge amount of space to slide up into and make the throw. Baker didn't climb the pocket far enough, which let Kenny Clark hit him while he was throwing. It was poor awareness by Baker, not bad play from the OL.

Baker is a flawed QB who would benefit from some time learning behind Stafford and under McVay. He still makes far too many stupid decisions and low IQ plays.
on 2nd and 7 he sprints out of the pocket.... no one appears open

just chuck the ball out of bounds - instead he lowers his head and takes a 6 yard loss.

He did a lot of dumb shit tonight... he wasnt the reason we lost but ya agree with you.

None of that is a surprise. He's got bad habits. It's why he was available. But he's talented and young and I think McVay can make something out of him once he gets some pieces around him.

With him as a backup for a year or two it would be an upgrade. If after that time he hasn't improved they just don't extend him and collect a comp pick. If he does improved then he's fully versed in McVay's offense. I see no downside. If he moves on next year they still collect a comp pick.

He's played well enough in two games to garner serious interest.

I think your evaluations are too hard on a guy that has been here a week. It's not like we haven't see those same mistakes from Stafford which we have. Look at how many INTs Stafford has thrown in less than one and a half seasons, 25 of them, more than Goff who has played more games (15).

Many current and future hall of fame players could have played for the Browns and had sub par careers.

He's fun to watch and makes the 4 straight National TV games worth getting fired up for.
Thank god we picked him up and didnt have to suffer thru the Wolford/Perkins disaster
I dont see any way he's on the team next year but that doesnt mean I cant enjoy whats left of this year!

Baker is who he is. He can make some incredible throws. But like most QB's who are middle of the road or less he needs better personnel around him. He's still better than what we had at backup.

Now he's auditioning for a contract and starting spot somewhere next year. Sucks for him to be doing it with preseason caliber talent around him. But it just might make him more affordable for us. I'd be good with Stafford and Baker going into next season.

McVay had to coach bad habits out of Stafford.

He can do the same to Baker.

Let's not act like he's sitting back there with the Rams STARTERS and has been with the team for the whole season.

Did you expect him to look like Post-Season Stafford? I mean come on.
