whatcha got on the menu today?

I just finished up a batch of Thai chilli ( last of my batch from @Dagonet ) and garlic sauce for some wings to go along with some sausage and peppers and a cheese, grapes and veggie platter. Going to have a few folks over today.

Did you freeze those bad boys or can them? Sounds good regardless man. You get the time, care to share the garlic sauce for the wings? It sounds most intriguing. Enjoy the time with friends and I hope they're not Dallas fans. :cool:

Here today, me and the Mrs. are canning all day so we're keeping it simple. Sausage and garlic cheese dip, burritos with most veggies from the garden, homemade salsa and hot peppers to boot. We're recording the game, but will also have it on while canning/pickling. I told her last night I might not get much done between noon and 3:00 today. lol

I noticed that the meat is a slightly different color than what you get in grocery stores. I've purchased beef, chicken and pork from people who "grow it" and there is a significant difference, most noticeable in the pork IMO.

we buy all our meat from local farms within 15 miles of our house. In the process of pre-ordering about 250 lbs of beef, pork and poultry.

I live in CA and often wish I could live on an open ranch.

WE ARE THE RAMS !!!

Chrissy dried a bunch of peppers.
Didnt really use a recipe for the sauce...hardly ever do. Just sauteed some peppers, sweet onions, about 5 cloves of garlic in butter, added some salt , vinegar, water, black pepper, then pureed and added some cornstarch to thicken it up. Just kept seasoning until I got the taste I was going for

It's true. Normally ground beef you get from stores is from many cows, the ground beef from one cow really looks and tastes significantly better. The bacon you get is mind blowing!!!!

I know on the meat being 100x better. I have friends who were or are farmers around here. My brother-in-law has 200 head of cattle. We're getting a big upright freezer in the next few weeks to add to our chest freezer. We're all ready talking about buying a feeder from him. Our only problem is processing costs. Last I saw a steer was going for like $1.60/LB market prices. processing costs are roughly $1.50/LB around here.
 
I'm hung over as hell. I grilled some killer pork tenderloins last night. Teriyaki, peppers, garlic, and onions. Wish I felt well enough to eat some of it now. Maybe at halftime.

<DOHHHH> (homer Simpson) on drying peppers. I have dehydrator going as I type. I'll try the garlic sauce as it would be cool for a change over hot sauce or BBQ sauce. Copied and printed it out. Much thanks.

Did you grow any peppers this year? If not I might be able to send some dehydrated ones. Be cheaper on shipping than on the ones I sent last year.. lol Thanks again man.

Wow! That's still cheaper than the price at the grocers! Lot of cash at 1 time but stills sounds like a bargain!
