According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Tavon Austin is the third player in NFL history with at least 3 TD of 55 or more yards in a game.

If not for the penalties Austin would have at least two more td's this season. Also, maybe we call deep plays to Austin more often, i only remember a couple from when Bradford was in. He is obviously a deep threat, and also showed what he can do when you throw to him short with room to run.

I think today helped subdue any doubt we had on Austin.

I hope Schotty takes notes and see's the potential he has when he is called upon and designs more plays like today.

Austin is a beast in the open field, plain and simple.

Sam is so much more accurate than Kellen, especially when throwing deep. If they can get Tavon, Brian, Chris, Sted, Jared, Lance, and Cory going, this will be a pretty formidable group next season.

Tavon Austin joins Gale Sayers and Randy Moss in the record books as the only players to have three touchdowns of 50 or more yards in a game at age 22 or younger

That is a pretty elite group to be a part of, and no one can argue that.

be even sweeter if Baily joins him in the same group in 2 weeks !!!

Hey guys. WVU guy and new Rams fan. Stedman Bailey is a better receiver that Tavon. Tavon is much better once he has the ball. If your coaches ever realize how good Stedman is at making catches ya'll will be WVU and Stedman and Tavon fans for a long time.

I can't wait for the reigns to be lifted off both of these guys.

I'm sure they're aware of his talents. It just takes time to ease into the lineup AND to unseat those in front of you who earned their respective spots.

Yeah, they GOT to get Bailey involved!

Yeah I agree with this. I think Stedman can be a good player for a long time like a Steve Smith.. the ability is there. I've been saying since day one that he needs way more playing time. Tavon Austin just showed us why he's here, if Stedman gets more time I bet he'll do the same.

Yea, thats true. He isn't a speed demon and not elite size but he just finds ways to catch balls. He had a catch at WVU where he was covered completely...the ball went through the defenders hands and Stedman was completely screened from the ball....he pulled it in like he had stickum on his hands. Time will tell.

You don't have to convince me, bruddah. I'm a fan of his, and even started a thread two weeks ago campaigning for him to get more playing time. I think he's a very fluid route runner with good hands and a tremendous work ethic. It shouldn't go unnoticed that he's a very good asset on special teams too. That can only help him as we get deeper into the season.

Steady's time will come...it may not be till 2014 but i really liked the pick. He's got a sneaky smooth quality in addition to great hands. Reminds me of...eh,i'd better wait on that comparison.

Happy Birthday to the great Ike Bruce btw.
