Find a photo from the web. Save it by long pressing on the image, or press your power button and home screen simultaneously to take a screen capture.

Go to your photos and press edit. Crop your photo to suitable shape for an avatar. Keep in mind in the photo selection process avatars will be small.

Go to your profile page on ROD. Click on your "current avatar" image (which in your case is the empty box). You will be prompted to select an image and save.
