Zero chance they trade for Burrow. The Bengals arent trading him, its just a pipe dream to think they will.
Rams will draft a QB, McVay will develop him, and the Rams will be just fine

Since we decided to start another thread about this here's my thoughts again.

1) Arch goes first that's if he even declares which most people don't think he will so on that this is pointless or at least a year ahead of when it'll be relevant.

2) The only way he doesn't go first overall is if he and Texas absolutely suck and somebody else has an amazing year, like a Joe Burrow before his draft year.

3) Even if he's mediocre or a bit bad and declares he still goes first based off the hype and the pedigree if nobody has a year like I said above.

Yeah the Bengals are dumb but not that dumb. It would take Burrow and Chase and Higgins saying screw you get us out of here type of move by the players.

I think if Cincy has a bad year... Burrow might just demand a trade. He wouldn't be the first.

And... regarding Manning... I wouldn't care if the Rams drafted a top notch LT and WR in the first round next year and went after a veteran QB in the off-season. Or trade a first and double up in '27. I honesty don't care.. in McSnead I trust.

The way the Rams get Arch is for Arch and his crew to help out - Arch declares for the 2026 draft and makes all kinds of public statements that if any team, other than the Rams, drafts him, he's going back to college for the 2026 season. The "going back to college" threat is only going to work in 2026 - it's the only draft he's going to be able to play that leverage, so that's his incentive to declare (it's the only draft where he has a significant ability to determine where he plays). The threat is also the encouragement for other teams to trade the pick. The Rams can do F them picks and toss in one or more of the expiring contracts on a good D player to get it done. It's all about Madden, fantasy mode - easy as pie. It all depends on Arch and his people wanting the Rams and no other team.

Why would 2026 be the only draft he can play leverage? He can very well do the same in the 2027 draft.

The Rams could easily move down with the Falcons pick and get another first for the 2027 draft if he decides to stay in his Sr. Year. ( which I think he 85% will do)

However his family does have a track record and feeling like they won’t let him play for a shit owner and franchise.

This will be interesting.

If he has a strong season and the Rams end up with that first overall pick thanks to Atlanta shitting the bed... I would bet money Arch declares.

The Manning family is well steeped in the importance of ending up in the right situation. Rams would almost guarantee he declares, in my opinion.

But none of that is likely to happen. Atlanta will win enough to not be in that top group. Rams will be wildcard level at worst, barring Stafford missing major time.

If Rams aren’t on the Manning clans very short list then Fuck ‘em. They aren’t as smart as I thought.

It's a pleasant fantasy to think so but I'm not sure we realize this dream.

Yeah but the problem is he’s going into 2025 as a redshirt Sophmore. Which means in 2027 he’ll go in as a redshirt Junior.

Also, another thing his both his uncles stayed in college 4 years and are huge believers in getting enough starts in college as they’ve talked about that their did steered them to get as many as possible in college.

This why I think unless there was a way to guarantee Arch comes to a team and organization like the Rams, Whiners, etc with a OC and head coach and organization that will be built to allow him to be successful and have a redshirt year in the NFL. Arch and his camp would have to join the “ I’ll only play for these teams” type of thing.

Idk it’s going to be interesting.

I know Haslam has very strong ties to the Mannings and in rich people circles besides schools. Wonder if he could try and agree to whatever to talk the Mannings into allowing him to play for the Browns.

Unless he absolutely shreds it, I truly believe they'll want him to play 2 full seasons of college ball in order to be more prepared for the NFL. Its hard to turn down being the #1 overall pick, but he's also got to develop

And he can be the #1 pick in 2027 as well so it's really about what his family has worked with him on the plan to get to the NFL. Both his uncles started 40+, I think 43 for each, games in college. With the playoffs and a 12 game schedule he could get 15 starts a year so if he starts this year and next he would sit at like 30-32. I think those are a lot more realistic to move on from than maybe 17. Just typing this in a reply as I work the numbers in my head not disputing anything you said :D

I know we are thinking about it and not wanting to say it, but if can have Stafford end out with 1-2 more SB rings and get Arch and he adds 2 more we’ll be right with those little bitches that one some in the VHS era.
