Keep in mind Arch will be 22 by next years draft. It’s not like he will be a green 20 year old coming out early. My guess is “he and his family” gonna want to pick which team(s) “he and his family” will play for.

So a stable regime with a highly successful and highly regarded offensive minded head coach in a huge market makes sense.

Nothing new here, if Manning goes in the draft, he's the #1 overall pick. The Rams, like most teams, would love to move up for him.

Agree, this a no shit story. If Arch Manning plays well this year and comes out then no shit, he WILL be the 1st pick. We may have 2 1st rounders next year but so do the Browns and BOTH their picks should be closer to the top. People act like the rest of the league is just gonna roll over and let the Rams draft him. It is not easy to predict how college QBs will do in the NFL. Remember when Trevor Lawrence was a generational talent? He's a good QB but that's about it. Obviously, being in Jacksonville might have something to do with it - they aren't exactly an A-level franchise. Or remember Goff and Wentz? We took Goff 1st overall. Great QB, a decade plus starter, but not elite. Wentz didn't even stick in the league. So who knows how Archie Manning will develop.

The buzz is we would trade two 1st rounders to move up for a QB. Our own + the Falcons 1st rounder we acquired. I'd rather use that as the basis for a package to acquire a proven NFL QB is one is available. Maybe Burrow if we get lucky could shake loose? It might not be an option. Proven top tier NFL QBs rarely if ever hit the market. But 2 1sts was the bulk of the Stafford trade. We have the starting point of a competitive package to land a proven talent. I don't think we would have to supplement it with too much more. particularly if the Falcons pick is high - they seem like a real crapshoot right now, I could see them flaming out as easily as putting it together this year.

Man, Lawrence was a guy everyone got wrong. Was supposed to be generational talent. Sure, he really got screwed with coaching and talent issues but you still think he should have been better.

To me, the more interesting part of the story was about Stafford, his back, his timeline, how the Rams might approach a rookie QB while retaining him for one more year. Sure, nothing people on here haven't speculated on but Robinson doesn't report hunches so it's nice to have what I would consider confirmation of things.

Also thought it was interesting they are telling a reporter they think Manning is - at this moment - the lone tier 1 QB next year. Pointing directionally to him while also leaving room for other QBs to possibly take that mantle as this season hasn't been played out.

Rams front office doesn't really seem to lie much but rather consistently tells the truth while leaving out a lot of additional info.

Teams generally don't trade down when elite QB prospects are at the top. They trade down when second tier QB prospects are at the top.

That's ideal. A stud-prospect on a rookie contract. That's what every team wants.

Most of the time, the team Must have an awful record to have a top-3 pick; and, a stud must be available ... some years, there aren't any.

Two first round picks in 2026, plus an aggressive head coach and front office willing to take risks ... Absolutely means the Rams could trade-up. However, trading-up to 1st overall (or even top-3) ... THAT seems very difficult.

Plus, the other team has to WANT to make a trade.
In 2024, Chicago, Washington and New England had no desire to trade-down.

Now Patrick Mahomes was the 10th overall pick. Josh Allen went 7th overall.
Maybe the Rams (primarily McVay) see something in a prospect projected to go between 6-10th overall.
That's a position I could realistically see the Rams trading-up for.

Ok, I'll play along. So, let's pretend Arch plays like the super prospect of 2025.

The way the Rams get Arch is for Arch and his crew to help out - Arch declares for the 2026 draft and makes all kinds of public statements that if any team, other than the Rams, drafts him, he's going back to college for the 2026 season. The "going back to college" threat is only going to work in 2026 - it's the only draft he's going to be able to play that leverage, so that's his incentive to declare (it's the only draft where he has a significant ability to determine where he plays). The threat is also the encouragement for other teams to trade the pick. The Rams can do F them picks and toss in one or more of the expiring contracts on a good D player to get it done. It's all about Madden, fantasy mode - easy as pie. It all depends on Arch and his people wanting the Rams and no other team.

1. This shyte is too early to talk about without wild ass guessing, but this never stopped us before!
2. Arch is a top college prospect who is getting paid as a college kid and his family values education. He doesn't NEED to come out.
3. McSnead are liars before draft day. I trust almost nothing they say until after the pick is made.
4. McVay is a great coach, but seems to like veterans more than rookies. He and Snead make unorthodox moves to get what they want. They could make a massive trade for a vet QB that we aren't even considering right now.

The only way McSnead trade for a veteran QB is if Stafford is 100% retiring. If Stafford comes back for 26 the Rams should flip the Atlanta 1st rounder and pick up a 1st in 27 draft.

Yes Atlanta might deliver. It is possible and wouldn't that kick ass. But we're probably looking at one pick mid first round and the other in the 20s, which isn't shit as it pertains to getting into the top group of picks.
