QBs are hard to find. He had the best for years. Compare his non Brady record to other teams / coaches when they don't have a franchise QB and he looks pretty good again. Also, for belichecks first Superbowl it was debated who should even start at QB. They were primed to win with either bledsoe or Brady. He also saw the greatness in his young QB and chose him. And Brady didn't even really become great until they had already piled up some hardware. This idea that the greatest football coach ever was "made" by his QB is just plain dumb.
Primed to win. They were a big under dog. It wasn’t supposed to be a contest. The entire AFC was devoid of talent. It took the refs swallowing their whistles and letting the Patriots mug Ram receivers before the ball reached them for the pats to win. Plus the refs ignored a personal grounding call by Brady to keep a drive alive. Everything about that game was BS.
Furthermore.. compare how great belicheck was vs other teams with elite QBs. Aaron Rodgers, 1 Superbowl. Peyton manning (colts) 1 Superbowl. Drew Brees 1 Superbowl. Belicheck 6 Superbowls. I'm pretty sure if you put any of those QBs with belicheck he would have had similar dominant results.
I can’t give him credit when he’s known to be a cheater. If the cheating was of little consequence like Goodell claimed then why did Belichick risk getting caught a second time. When McDaniels was filming opponents signals in Denver they were 6-0. Once he was caught they sucked. It had a profound affect. Cheating and cheating again removes all credibility to Belichicks career.
Belichick benefitted from having an elite QB who was willing to work for a discount to surround himself with talent to keep working. Not all teams have team players like that. Allows them to spread the wealth and remain dominant for a long time. Majority of NFL is "me not we" (which I get to an extent).

Patriots may be suffering now, but I'm pretty sure they sleep pretty well with the comfort of their decades of dominance.
That worked because like the Niners they figured a way to cheat the cap. If there is any one person in the NFL that should not be given the benefit of the doubt, it’s the one who cheated for several years, got caught, then tried it again a few years later.

Just loving them sucking and telling my Pats fans friends BB was way overrated.
I’m fine saying Brady was the goat… but using it to chip away at BB is fun for me.

You can still find Patriots fans? Here in Danville PA they used to be all over the place. Vanity plates on their cars, fancy winter jackets and Jersey were common anytime I went out of the house. I don’t think that I have seen a single one in the last 3-4 years.

It’s the same way with Ohio State fans. Now I’m seeing Michigan fans all over. It’s funny because every one of these fairweather fans can’t name 5 starters on their favorite team.

Patriots? who are they?.. haven't seen a single hat, jersey or hoodie wearing fan round these parts in weeks

seems to be a recurring theme.

When TB12 went to Tampa, all of a sudden everyone had Bucs hats, flags hoodies and jerseys.

The closest bar/grill near me used to be standing room only on Sundays during football games...now the parking lot is empty except for employees

What a couple of twats!!!

Shit, they keep going on this path they might get Caleb. Wouldn't that be interesting? Given the choice would he go to New England or back to USC?

The end if their dark reign of terror was long past due. With that said it's still surprising to see not only how swiftly they fell off after Tom's departure but how steep the drop off was. We're talking about nearly two two decade perinial AFC finalist that can't even sneak in the Playoffs as a wild card.

It's ironic and horribly tragic that almost the MOMENT Brady left, the AFC East decided to become very competitive, after 20 STRAIGHT YEARS of being doormats. For 20 years, the AFC East was the worst division in football, giving the Pats a free pass to the AFC championship game every year.

Belichek has been exposed for the loser that he is.

Why I'm pissed at the football gods. For fucking 20 years the Jets, Bills and Dolphins couldn't find their asses with two hands and NE ran roughshod.

When McVay got here we pushed SEA out of the way and SF and AZ couldn't get anything right. Fast forward a few years and the NFCW was the best division in football.

Jack-asses...

Bill Belichick signed lucrative, multiyear deal with Patriots in offseason, unlikely to be fired this year

Bill Belichick, the most successful NFL head coach in recent memory, is having a season to forget.
His New England Patriots, once perennial title-game participants, are 1-5, the franchise's worst mark through six games since 1995, well before Belichick took over as HC of NE. Making matters worse, the Pats are in the middle of a three-game losing streak during which they've scored just 20 points and are four games behind the AFC East-leading Miami Dolphins.
2023 is shaping up to be the worst of Belichick's 24 seasons in New England, but will it be his last? If a surprising Patriots offseason decision is any indication, the chances of his imminent departure are slim.
Belichick quietly signed a lucrative, multiyear contract extension with the Patriots during the offseason, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday on NFL GameDay Morning.
"His contract [is] one of the most closely held secrets in New England. That said, I think it's fair to say there was some, at least, uncertainty or intrigue surrounding him," Rapoport explained. "Now, contractually, he is locked up long-term."

It's unclear when Belichick's prior contract was set to expire and how long this new one will last. But one thing is clear: Owner Robert Kraft and the Patriots organization envision Belichick, 71, in their immediate and long-term future and are not inclined to move on from him this season.

The decision to extend Belichick, who is both New England's head coach and general manager, may come as a surprise amid the Patriots' awful start to the 2023 season, but consider that the six-time Super Bowl champion HC and living legend is nearing history in several respects.
Belichick currently has the third-most regular-season wins (299) in NFL history, stuck there since a Week 3 victory over the New York Jets. A win Sunday over the visiting Buffalo Bills (4-2) would give him the elusive 300th victory. He is also currently 30 wins from passing Hall of Fame coach Don Shula (328) for most all-time.
There are few mountains left for Belichick to conquer as a head coach in the NFL, but if the Patriots skipper is set on breaking Shula's mark -- or at least passing George Halas (318) -- then he needs to stick around for a few more seasons. (At New England's current pace, more than a few more.)
With potential successors Bill O'Brien and Jerod Mayo currently on New England's coaching staff, how patient will Kraft and Co. be with arguably the best NFL coach of all time, as the Patriots, built and led by Belichick, potentially limp to their first consecutive losing seasons since 1989-1993? The coach's extension suggests quite patient.

Rumors of their death may have been greatly exaggerated..
