Also is ANYBODY opposed to making it open to the GP to get a few more teams?

I wish that I was messing around. But I think you meant 11:00 PM Eastern Time, right? 10:00, I think I can do.

But for a multitude of reasons that I'd rather not get into here, I'm supposed to be in bed at 10:00. The people I'm staying with have their own rules. It's better than being homeless, though.
 
Okay how about 10:30? Cause I think some of the guys who wanted it later than 11 (work tomorrow I expect) will at least get in most of the draft. Plus it went public picking up more players who were expecting 11 pm as the time. Will that work?

Oops. Yahoo won't let me change the time earlier than 11 pm

PA, 1st and foremost, thanks for setting this up. I know its not easy to do (which is why I didnt take over BB's league)


One question I had though is why did the unfamiliar teams, the GP guys, all get the high draft picks while all of us from here seemed to be drafting late?

Wouldn't say all the unfamiliar teams got all the high picks. I had pick 3,

Good question. It was random, I assume. This is my first Baseball Fantasy commish job so I assumed Yahoo set up the order randomly. My biggest concern was getting the scoring diverse enough to require starters, closers AND set up men, along with not penalizing guys who draw a lot of walks. I hope I made it interesting enough for everybody.

BTW, we need another manager as one fellow has resigned his team due to his inability to work the draft properly. For that I apologize. Apparently, I was too involved in the draft to see help was needed. Anybody interested let me know. The Roster you will inherit is as follows:

C Posey and Molina, 1B Cuddyer, 2B Kipnis and Odor, 3B Longoria, SS Rollins, 1B/3B Chase Headley, OF Adam Jones, Brett Gardner, Joc Pederson, Calhoun

Starting pitchers: Scherzer, Greinke, Zimmerman, Fister and Lynn
Relief: Feliz, K-Rod, Roark

Players on the DL (there are 3 DL spot available so 3 of these guys can move to that slot and 3 new players added to the roster. LaTroy Hawkins, Derek Holland, Alex Rios and Travis Arnaud.

If we can't get somebody to take over for week one I'll edit the roster and will take any suggestions from the rest in the league.

How many folks were in for the live draft?

I wasnt there because of
a) the time
b) the date (I honestly thought it was Saturday)

so the guy who quits because he couldnt work the draft properly isnt happy with his team is basically what I am thinking

No. It's not the team. It's because I physically unable to pick my own people for this draft, even though I was there and clicking on Felix Hernandez' name the entire time I was on the clock. Nobody told me how to pick players. I was new to this entirely. I've never done a Yahoo draft before. I felt like an idiot. So I resigned. I'm sorry, but this thing pissed me off more than anything else.

Again, if I'm not able to select my own people from the ones who were available, even though I was there and actually trying to draft when nobody told me how to draft people, then what's the point? Isn't a fantasy draft about selecting the talents that you want and working on your own merits? It was humiliating because I was practically begging for help, and there were people laughing at me in there, just because I hadn't done this before.

So why? Why should I continue to embarrass myself and everyone else?

My 2'd year my roster was auto drafted and I won the whole thing. I don't know what the big deal is.
Most rosters get turned over during the season anyway. And also, it's not for money just fun.
I've always been able to use a PC for the draft and was totally frustrated myself at times, picked a couple players I didn't mean to. Like rhody says, it is what it is.

Again, I'm not interested in money. I'm interested in having fun. And there is no fun in watching helplessly as a worthless AI drafts for you without your input and seeing people laugh at you because you don't know how to draft your own players because nobody bothered to tell you when you asked multiple times.

There's nothing fun about that.
