I'm definitely not against diversifying comics. Should have been done a long time ago.

At the same time, however, I think it's lazy appeasement to being PC in this day and age to change already established DC/Marvel characters into different ethnicities.

They should be thinking up original superheroes with their own backstories and histories that reflect their cultural heritage.

Take for example, Luke Cage. Being a black man from Harlem, changing his race in the future would strip everything from the original character as written.

Same for Black Panther. You wouldn't make those characters white guys.

Just curious though. Is it really Captain America without the super serum? I mean, at least Bucky, when he took it on, had the Winter Soldier super arm. Seems strange to have a cap without the serum pumping in his veins.

Falcon is BA though and I loved Marvel's choice of actors for the movies. Nailed that.

I definitely get what you're saying, but I agree with it more when the established character is killed and replaced with the more diverse character. DC used to be really really bad with this, and it actually caused resentment against a really good comic book in one case (Ted Kord being replaced by Jaime Reyes as the Blue Beetle).

Falcon gets two nods of approval over cases like that though since Falcon was already long established and a logical successor to the title (though I'm not sure how much the Captain America with wings thing does it for me), and Steve Rogers is still alive.

Anyone here old enough to remember when comic books used to have all those really cool ads , I remember spending some of my allowance money on some pretty cool things , oh by the way , those X-Ray glasses , don't really work

But that was back when comics only cost like 80 cents

What are comic books now , like $4.00

no wonder I don't read comics any more , who can afford them

Oh, I remember all of those. I think I even did try selling for Olympic once.

Marvel doing big things combining the regular and ultimate universes. Sounds really interesting if done right. Just finished reading all of Superior Spider man and loved it. Also just read the age of ultron and cataclysm event books.

I hadn't heard they're combining the two... that's neat.

Yeah, that time has long passed. Now if you want to the latest ones, the best way is having a paid subscription to the Marvel app. I had a free trial when I bought the Thor Blu Ray, and it just wasn't the same reading it on my phone/tablet than the actual book.

I was just thinking about all the cool comic ads I saw when I was a kid the other day. Remember when they had super hero everything in those adds cloths, candy all that crazy stuff. Comics are to expensive nowadays I only get comics on the marvel ( or dc and image) app when they do the .99 cent or collected edition sales.

So what did you have to sell for Olympic ?

All I remember was all the cool stuff you could win

I think it was boxed greeting cards or somesuch.

I hereby call that no one is allowed to find or acknowledge the existence of this comic...

I just read the first two issues of Marvels new Darth Vader comic books , I have to say I liked them both

For those that don't know the set of Marvel's new Star Wars comic books , they have three and they take place in the time line right after the original Movie , Star Wars : A New Hope

So these are suppose to fill in the gap between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back

The second series is just called Star Wars , and it seems to follow the main three characters , Luke , Han and Leia ,

The third series , from what I gather , is a on going series , but it will be a series of mini series , all dealing with different solo characters , the first one is Star Wars : Princess Leia , I believe it's like a four or five issue mini series , then it will move on to a different character

I really liked the Star Wars #1 and #2 and also Darth Vader #1 and #2 , but I thought issue #1 of Princess Leia was sort of lame

This new figure of Darth Vader is pretty sweet , to bad it costs like $350.00

A lot of DC. Mostly Batman and the Watchmen but I'm currently "reading" through the Sandman series. It's awesome. I'm also "reading" the horror manga Shiver by Junji Ito. Both have really good illustrations and storylines.

When will they be debuting Wonder Man, Cat Man, Bat Boy, HE-RA, Jessie Jones & the Black Widower?

Bitterly resent the wasted Thorita,...

A complete waste of time that could have been spent on the real Thor and the story was trash that ran for 5 years.
Next Thor movie...female Thor alongside Hemsworth.
