The scrutiny is about to get really intense about off-season decision making. Not starting Goff in favor of Keenum, and we lose MNF in frisco? Meanwhile, Wentz does well with hardly any preseason action, even though it's against the Browns?

If we were in St Louis, there would be criticism from the usual suspects. IN LA? It's going to be 3 times as many media folks with a venomous pen/keyboard...National guys are paying attention to the Rams this year because it's the first year back and will continue to shred us...Even if we win MNF, they will rag on us about the 3rd string Goff.....

Gonna be a lot of shit talking if the Rams flub it against the Whiners like last season and Keenum looks just as awful as he did that game.

Wentz didn't have 1 reps. Didn't have any PS time. Became the starter with a week to prepare.

Puts up close to 300 yards and 2 TDs and the Rams fail to even get Goff ready to backup against the shitty Whiners so many here claim the Rams will pound into dirt.

Too funny.

Thats not a fair comparison though..That "flub" was the second game on the road, last game of the season meaningless game without Todd Gurley......Keenum will look a lot better with the soon to be GOAT RB running with him.

I agree. It's going to get brutal. That doesn't mean we are wrong. That doesn't mean Goff will have less success than Wentz.

It just means the reactionaries will be out in force. And this is not the kind of pressure that is good. For Fisher, or Goff. It often causes bad decisions. Pressing. Etc. ugggh.

I think the Rams are up to the task.

Became the starter with a week to prepare.

I almost guarantee they vastly simplified the offense for him. Fisher hasn't done that with Goff, because he doesn't want to. He's comfortable with Keenum and therefore Goff has to work harder than Wentz, who inherited the spot after Bradford was traded. Had Keenum gone to the Broncos, Goff would be starting as well.

I'm aware. I had no real faith he would start a rookie QB whoever it was, regardless of how well they did.

Refuses to trust young guys.

Goff would be starting for virtually any other team sans those with an entrenched productive starter.

Just saying... Whiners is the best game imo, period, on the schedule to start Goff anyway if he's going to start at any point this season.

Yeah, I really hope there aren't any major issues during the MNF game, because if Goff has to start week 2, that's probably one of the worst situations to throw him into. I'm not a fan of how Fisher handled it, but we'll see how it all shakes out.

different sport, same idea. ken hitchcock has the same issue with playing rookies. (hockey) a very good coach ill equipped to deal with the fact that rookies (some) are able to take the next step even at their young age.

the thing that amplifies the Goff situation is that

1., the Rams lack of good football in the past decade.
2. the fact that other rookie qb's (recent history) have gone out and been successful without ---next---
#3. trashing a future draft year to get said qb that is relegated to street clothes for game 1 when other qb's drafted later seem much more well prepared to do so. would it kill them to have him at least in a uniform?? seriously ??
4 the qb the Rams are going with was already with the team (cut and retraded for) therefore making it a curious option to do #3 to themselves for the near future when more talent is needed for at least depth if not starting spots.
5. the head coach has actually gone 2 years longer without being in a superbowl or particularly relevant to the sport and has basically sent this big ole snowball downhill on his own.
6. i'm done
7 may casey casem lead us to victory over the same ole sorryass 49ers.

You mean like the RG3 fans that bitched and whined because we didn't take him? Haha ya I don't really care what those kind of fans and media say they were all wrong about him too. I don't like keenum much but Goff needs more time he never was under center in college and that would hurt our running game also.

There's a lot of conversation saying Kap's protest has solidified the Niners as a team. It seems like a reach to me though. There's no doubt the Niners are gonna play hard anyway...Chip Kelly doesn't want to start out with a loss.

Defensively though...the Rams best be ready defensively. I like Williams...but the guy can get blitz happy...and it worries me.

The Ram defense has to set the tone tomorrow...while the offense needs to be consistent.

I could give a flying Fark what anybody in the media has to say. They can all go suck a big donkey set of balls for all I care.
It will be time for them to stfu for a long ass period pretty soon.

LOL! Don't you think that maybe Goff should've done HIS part in staking the claim on the #1 position? I mean, he didn't even show enough to be #2 on a team where so many 'fans' hate their #1 QB!

Why is there always this talk that Fish doesn't start rookies? Didn't Fish start Jenks and Tru as rookie CB's? Didn't 'Tree start as a rookie? Wouldn't Todd have started as a rook if it wasn't for the ACL recovery process?

Yes, he benched Aaron to start off, but he was platooning with our departed DT (who's name escapes me at the moment).

Jared is transitioning from a shotgun formation to a conventional under-the-center exchange, as well as getting used to the sharp nuances separating collegiate play from that of the big boys. I am glad we are starting out with lowly SF. I want Jared as finely tuned as reasonably possible when we make the Big Switch.

When has Fisher said any differently than what has taken place? From the earliest comments from Fisher, Keenum was the #1 QB, and Goff would be brought along slowly. Please post something other than your opinion, or some other talking heads expectation, that proves differently. Thanks in advance for the quotes of exact Fisher. quotes that prove your point.

So you are comparing, position wise CB and OLB, RB, to the QB position? Which one is more complex?
