About the Ram injuries...

I’m conflicted about whether Tree or Woods should play. Assuming that they’re even gonna be cleared, that is.

I guess that I lean more toward saving them for one more week. I think we have a shot vs Eagles with Hager and Reynolds, and if not, who cares? We’ll get the Eagles in a playoff rematch, perhaps.

I would love to have these two more prepared to play next week vs the Seahawks.

What do y’all think?

I expect to see Barwin, Barron, Ogletree,Woods and Brown all play.

It’s easy to say if they’re cleared, they play.

But what if that extra week off now would pay bigger dividends vs the Seahawks?

Or in the regular season home stretch?

Or in the playoffs?

I would just hate to see a re-injury to Woods or Tree, in particular. One that might cost them multiple future games?

Don’t see the need for the big rush unless they’re truly, truly 100%. The big goal now is to win the division.

It’s football. This time of year every team is playing through injuries. They can have rest during the 49ers game and the first round bye.

I believe it was Martz that had a guideline; the week you are cleared, wait one more before returning to a game.

I think it’s generally a good position to take, with muscle injuries in particular.

The Offense is not as effected by the absence of Woods as they are with the loss of Ogletree. Rams have had injury issues all season with Barron & rarely does he participate in a full practice. Same to a less degree can be said of Conner Barwin who has a broken arm & a bad injured knee this past month. Barwin & Barron were not enough they now have a Ogletree injury going into the two biggest games of the season. Not good.

Rams can loose this Eagle game & win the Seattle Game & win the division. But the Rams can not loose the Seattle game period. The Eagle game in LA is a more win-able game that the away game in Seattle. Rams have a very good chance to be a wild card team if they loose to Seattle & Eagles. I would get both our best top receiver fully healthy & my defensive Captain fully healthy for the run in the playoff myself. Suffering further injury to Ogletree's arm would cause major issues for this teams chances in the playoffs. Rams stand to have all 3 injured LB'ers in much better health in a month from now ready to do damage to the Seahawks & Eagles when we face them again.

I totally get what you are saying, I have been thinking about this as well.

It is only week 14, but this is the biggest game that many of these guys have played in since college.
Naturally the players are going to act cool and downplay it... but this game is really big. Its easy to understand how guys like Ogletree and Woods might push themselves too hard to get on the field before they are ready...
All that said, the coaches, dr.s and trainers know what they are doing and they will make the best decisions they can.
"If they are cleared they play" is the simplest answer....
But if the question is: Should the Rams be EXTRA precautionary vs the Eagles and hold back players to ensure we have them against Seattle?
I think my answer would be
"If they are cleared, they play." lol

As much as the Seattle game is more important to our play off positioning, we shouldnt prioritize it.
If we dont do everything we can to win vs the Eagles, and choose to not play guys who are capable of suiting up... just to give us our best chance to win in Seattle?
We could very easily end up losing both games by doing that.

Play the team in front of you and play it to win.

Wouldn't rush it, would rather have key players near 100% down the road. As critical as I am of Gurley not getting enough reps in earlier games, it's gonna benefit us immensely this time around.

Ref. Inside LB'er Bryce Hager your right.... its his time now to prove what he can do. This is his 3rd season & he saw a good amount of work in pre season. He has been our 4th LB'er in goal line & 4th downs the last few seasons. Hager has played in all the 42 games the Rams have played in since 2015. Hager best skill is he diagnoses offenses with little or no problems. But like Ogletree he will never be a good downhill linebacker.

I would absolutely rest Woods if possible. The Rams are deep at receiver. Yes--he's important but I'd save him for the next three if they can.

Hager can't really replace Ogeltree--he doesn't have that speed. But a healthy Hager is still better than a wounded Ogeltree. We saw last week that trying to play hurt was not in the team's best interest in regard to Ogeltree, If he is truly healthy he should play but if there is any sort of question--I would sit him out and take my chances with Hager.

There is a bigger picture and the next three games are even bigger than this one.

But if he tries to go here--makes things worse and has to miss THOSE games? That would be very bad.

I think the Rams have done a great job of handling injuries and rest for the players this year @Rams43. If they say those guys are good to go I'm happy. No reason to doubt what they determine when they know more than we do. They have the medical reports and all that so it's whatevs.

Plus being conservative has never really helped teams with injuries that I know of. Just comes down to dumb luck more often than not, and playing through being dinged up is part of the game and always will be.
