IIRC, Bosa's holdout was because San Diego was trying to cheap out.

It was a stupid holdout and he was popping off at the mouth about it. He came across as an entitled dickhead and whether you are right or wrong you never want to come across that way.

Their current status was truly earned by their flaming a--holery, and if France wants to hold clients out when the team has most of the leverage and ask for unreasonable things like a 3 year opt-out clause (if true) coupled with lots of guaranteed money, then he will eventually earn the same fate as the Postons

Remember the several million they fucked Lavar Arrington out of because of the change in bonus money and they didn't bother to read the contract and instructed the client to sign it and send it back. That was a HUGE fuck up and it was the reason that the NFL suspended him for two years.

You all do realize that is Bosa in the OP, yes? I don't see a popped collar, but I sure as crap see a porn stache....

Horrible facial hair....he looks like a 14 year old.

Had a sneaking suspicion that France is a greedy fuckboi of an agent. Hope AD will be the last client he's representing as an NFL agent
That's why the Ram's need to break his back as a viable agent. I wanted a deal with Donald to be worked out, but not according to the wishes of this scumbag. I wasn't ready before now to say this, but we should be willing to let Donald lose a year of salary. Let's see if his agent is still his agent in 2018...

Explain why you think that, because IMO he's got no leverage. The Rams are in complete control I think.
Because of his talent...being one of the best...and his age, 26. I see no reason his skills will not be highly sought after if he sits out one year...with less wear and tear. I think he'd rather play a season at $6.8 million in 2018....and one year closer to FA....than play 2 years for $8.6 mil....I get his window is closing...which is why I believe he wants to renegotiate now...like right now...and have an out when he's 30. No matter what...another team will pay for Donald's services...at a price much higher than $8.6 million a season.

This is a bad look for the organization...new coach....kinda like a new breath of fresh air from McVay....Optimism high as hell...and then this....same old _____ assed rams shit....best player holding out...hopefully we jump out and can win without him...and then he'll be traded...for a lower round draft pick.

No matter what...AD still gets paid....and the organization looks....looks like the Rams....2017 version.

.AD still owns all the leverage...

He has zero leverage all he can do is withdraw his labour (hold out) this is the NFL next man up right ? Certainly the next man won't be as good as AD ... but the next man up never is

Basically the Rams have him for the next four years (two years on his contract and two franchise tags ) good luck getting your 100mill 80 guaranteed at 30 AD

I want him signed (although if he wants a three year opt out ...he ain't getting no 20 mill a year 30 mill 3 year with 15 guaranteed max .. and then you can have your opt out ) and then I'd still franchise ya two years in a row

Problem is if he sits out a full year we still have 2 years of control. And if we franchise him for 2 or 3 years it's still a good deal to us. Donald will be a Ram for 5 more years or he won't play its up to him. To me that doesn't sound like he has any leverage. Oh and if he wants to get nasty and hold out 10 weeks, he might end up actually paying the Rams this year to play.

In an industry like this...basically entertainment....unique talents/skillsets hold leverage..IE specialist....if he was easily replaced...or not sought after, then he'd have NO leverage. People....want....AD....at ....AD's....price......just not the Rams.

And while that may be true

They can't have him .... not for at least 4 years that's why he has no leverage

Again....you guys are assuming....sorta like me...that things will go in a certain way....like...if AD holds out...you really think the Rams franchise him after 2018? I say if he holds out now....into mid-season....he'd force their hands for 2018....which again, would give him all he wants....the ability to negotiate with a team that's willing to make him the highest paid defender in the NFL

He's only under contract until 2018.....you are assuming the Rams would franchise tag a disgruntled player....Hell....I think they'd do that with someone that WANTS to be here....play here...like Sammy W.

i would why wouldn't the Rams

He enters the last year of his contract teams will come sniffing with offers unbecoming Or maybe not at all because "the Rams won't franchise him he is disgruntled we will wait for his release "

If Snead and co say we we are willing to tag him for the next two years those offers are gonna increase

And the Rams won't give up on him by cutting or trading him. He can hold out all he wants it changes nothing. If the team wants he's acRam for 5 years or he's not playing. Getting to camp is the best thing he can do for himself long term.

The fact if the matter is this

If the Rams want to they control Donald for the next four years

He can't play for any other NFL team (shit he can't to go to the CFL ) ... if the Rams so desire

Donald (unless the RAMS DECIDE ) different is a ram for the next four years minimum

Therefore he has no leverage

Heck the only way he won't be a ram without the Rams having a say is if he retires ...(but I may be wrong here if he retires and comes back the Rams will still hold his rights )

Edited to add ... I want Donald to remain a ram for life

yep Rams have his rights still if he retires. AD has made his choice he put himself before the team im done with him. as far as im concerned he can sit out the next 4 years

That assumes, of course, that Donald’s holdout doesn’t continue into mid-September. Fellow defensive lineman Michael Brockers said he remains confident Donald will show up before then.

“Oh yeah. Oh yeah,” Brockers said. “I have a good feeling he will come back. It’s just about the (contract) numbers and stuff that I don’t want to get into. But I know he will be back sometime soon.”

from your mouth to God's ear, Michael...

I say let him fucking sit. Don't pay his ass a dime. Don't release his contract. And then franchise the shit out of him when his contract is up. I wouldn't play this game

He doesn't get paid if he sits out Champ so he's not getting any money. And if he want's to sit out the year he would still have to either play the other 1-3 years or sit out again. Sitting out a year is going to make a lot of teams think "no thanks we don't need the attention and distraction"

It's a bad look for the team and AD. This needs to be handled.

If he sits out the regular season I'll be floored and will really lose respect for him. I'm OK with him sitting out a few preseason games but not while the real games are being played.

I'm hoping for some resolution before the season starts.
