Every morning I take my beagle Flash out for a walk. This morning we walked through a cemetery near my house and noticed two fresh graves right next to each other. The tombstones are laid flat and there are holes where pennants/flags can be placed. Those two graves both had St. Louis Rams pennants.

It's really windy today and those Rams pennants were flapping proudly away in the wind. Now those were two serious Rams fans. Btw, apparently I'm one of the last people in America who doesn't have a cell phone so I can't supply a pic. But the pennants were just like this...

Totally respect the fact that you don't have a cell phone!

Good for you.

Same for you @Alan

I guess we won't be calling each other while we walk our dogs because I don't own a cell phone either. :) Great story PT.

Looks like you guys are best friends. But how will you talk outside of ROD? Do landlines still exist? :sneaky:

Yes, we are pals :) and yes, landlines do still exist, although my wife has been beating the drum lately for me to get a cell and dump the landline.

Btw I forgot to mention that here in Cumberland, MD, Rams fans are few and far between. It's mostly Steelers, Ravens, Skins, and a few Cowboys fans. So those two Rams fans laying in those graves must have lived close to me and I never knew them. What a shame.

ChrisW wishing he had one:

Apparently you have to have a cell phone if you want to have any friends. Fortunately for PT and myself, we're never outside of the ROD.

You really don't have a landline?

Don't spread this around but I also have a subscription to our local newspaper and get the New York Times delivered once a week. My daughter reads the front page stories in the Times to me every Saturday.

Yeah @Prime Time , a shame you guys never discovered each other living so close together.

Once you finally get a cell phone, you'll wonder how you ever made it without one.

The gravestones with the Ram pendants are very cool. I'm certain they make the whole cemetery look better. Good stuff Man.

Years ago I posted a pic here showing one of my Bahamian friend's gravestone. He loved the cowgirls so much that his brother cemented an actual cowgirl helmet to the top of the gravestone. I'll see if I can find it and re-post it later this evening.

Don't fret too much. Seems to me that there's multiple possibilities of how they ended up in Cumberland. The flag's served their purpose. You celebrated their memory, and it brightened your day.

It is also pretty cool that Redskins fans in your area who pass that cemetery have a totally different "touching moment" upon seeing those glorious pennants waving in the breeze

Flash!! Please tell me that was inspired by Sheriff Rosco P Coltrane from The Dukes of Hazzard!!

Yeah exactly. When my son was 16 he asked me if it was okay if he had a dog of his own. He got the Beagle, which btw is affectionate and lovable but stubborn as an army mule, and named him Flash after the dog in your pic.

He promised he would take care of him but moved out when he was 19 and left the dog with me. No complaints here but typical for a teenager. :sneaky:

I fought off cell phones for quite a while, but finally gave in...I did the same with computers, now I would be hard pressed to be without either...

I still have a rotary phone in the pantry that I plug in every once in a while just for giggles. For you youngsters out there this is what it looks like...:)
