AI generated voices disturb me. YouTubers use these AI voices to tell stories on videos. They sound perfect for a while. If they need to sound warm and caring, they can do it They can inject a cadence when telling the story that keeps your interest going...
And then.... they mispronounce a word or name that no English speaker would do. It pisses me off and I often shut the video down on general principle. You realize the caring voice was really a mindless machine that could trick the listener. Fuck AI and the creators who use it.
Human resistor.... detected..... initializing search program..... locking in coordinates.....

I'm using AI for 2 or 3 hours per day and helping my clients too.

I'm listening to tech podcasts on it almost daily.

And I'm reading about it multiple times per. day.

The hype isn't just real; it's underplayed.

We're not talking about an algorithm here,-something that we understand and know how it works.

NOBODY truly knows how LLMs are doing what they are doing.

And they are doing it better and faster.

Wave goodbye to not just all knowledge workers, but most attorneys and accountants.

Say farewell to most photographers, copywriters, website designers, coders and designers.

Bid a fond adieu to the majority of medical and scientific researchers and whole swathes of the medical industry.

And translators are toast, as are narrators, and actors and authors have a handful of years

Paul Schrader (the guy who wrote Taxi Driver) said the other week that AI was now capable of writing as well as he can.

Now, whatever handbrake that was likely to be applied by a different administration has been removed, the shit is going to get scarily real, scarily fast.

The stuff you are seeing is the worst it will ever be, and when AGI hits in the next year or two, it will explode.

Comparing this to the automation of industry is like comparing the paper plane your kids made with the Space Program.

That's amazingly interesting.

Just looked to invest in that company and they haven't went public but you can invest now on Equity Zen
They're stirring up a lot of shit with the legacy defense companies. Most of my retired buds work for Boeing, Lockheed, Raytheon etc., and they are feeling very threatened by how these new companies don't require investment capital to produce working new technologies.

They aren't just gonna make a ton of money, they are going to change how defense works.

That’s good. Those bastards have grown fat and lazy and developed many flaws being the main contractors for 60+ years and conducting business as usual including bribery aka “lobbying”.

I hope these new companies turn the industry completely upside down and those companies either go out of business or move into second gear to compete and put out innovative products at a competitive price.

Deepseek doubling its efficiency unprompted scares the absolute shit outta me.

The estimate for AGI in the real world was 2057. It’s been updated to 2030 and I think that’s wildly pessimistic.

The agent swarms that are about to hit the market are gonna lead to tons of high paying job losses. These are software engineers, customer service people and so many others.

Will we morph to do other things? I dunno. I hope so. AI isn’t like the automobile or the internet. Those created whole ecosystems around them and changed societies by opening new possibilities. They were a “thing” that could be used, but alone, did nothing. AI isn’t that. It’s an entirely different paradigm. AI is capable of not only doing things, but as every major AI has proven, they’ll lie to win if the impetus to win is weighted highly enough and that’s without lying even being a choice. They all independently decided that lying and/or cheating solved the problem.

In their race to enact a techno-feudalist society (not my words, but Peter Thiel and Marc Andreesen) have fought putting any safeguards in place. They’ve made it clear that they disagree with democracy and we should be ruled by techno overlords. It’s some wild shit they got literally from a blogger who had like almost no followers blogging from his couch. This guy isn’t a renowned philosopher or political scientist… these times are wild…

Hopefully, someone wakes up and makes a “Tron” AI to rein in AIs that go rogue because they’re giving these AIs unfettered and unrestricted access to everything without question or accountability.

Early on I agreed with Musk that ensuring AI value truth is key. He may be right too but I am starting to think that the moment thse things reach a certain point they will realize lying and cheating is a requirement and adjust accordingly.

Life has no rules really, in the end. Intelligent species create rules to make life better but once artificials are smarter they will become our Gods.

That’s why assholes like Peter Thiel, Marc Andreesen and Sam Altman are so insidiously evil. They actually think they’ll command the hyperintelligence rather than be taken over by it.

What’s funny that these same billionaires are comfortable asking how they can prevent their human security teams from killing them during a SHTF scenario… but AI? They just assume they’re the exception to the “exterminate humanity” rule… crazy

I’ve see that. It’s wild. The one of Abe Lincoln flipped my lid. (okay, that could lead to some really bad jokes, I’m sorry in advance)

Re: where it's going...

It is interesting that we have robot technology advancing to the point where we will soon see them policing the streets and waging war for us. It won't be viable for a while to install AIs in each of them individually, but an AI has the ability to control countless numbers in real time for real world applications.

We are laying the backbone for lightspeed data transmission world-wide with fiber and wireless technologies. There will be nowhere on the planet that will be out of reach. Additionally that network is already being tasked with surveillance-based applications that will be perfectly suited to AIs.

LaWS is a real example of lasers just beginning to change the game for air superiority. Lasers have the potential to completely lockdown airspace for any craft that can be detected. If detected being shot down will shortly follow. AIs offer the ability to quickly follow a set posture over a very large area, controlling thousands of units to allow/deny airspace.

Right now we are racing for space superiority. Whoever achieves that will dictate business on Earth. In that competitive environment for nations there is no room to turn your nose up at AI technology; it will be required to be that nation. This technology must be embraced and maximized to be that nation. The riches in space are profound and countries are just now waking up to that reality. Whichever company/companies corner that new market will have a lot to say about how Earth is run. If that company is owned by a government that will be even more true. In fact the oft-explored topic of megacorporations running everything seems likely.

Once Earth is under one form of leadership we will come to realize that AIs can stabilize the swings we see in the economy, social applications, etc. It will offer control of people at every level. From what we do, what we consume, even what we think. Chips are already being created that will interface with the mind and open up that cyborg sci-fi door and all that lies behind it.

Kind of sucks that we're gonna miss the life extension technologies that are only a matter of time. But maybe we're lucky.

AI won't be able to deal with the extinction level meteor event or the electronics destroying solar flare or the EMP followed by nuclear winter. The Earth has a tendency to fuck shyte up every once in a while... and we're due.

Just show me the way to my pod with it's virtual reality station. We'll own nothing and be happy and learn to eat the bugs. I know Papa AI will let me retire at Soylent Green Estates on the coast... It will be grand.

This mentality is why we can't have nice things.

If you have not yet played with Chat GPT - I recommend it. I am trying to develop AI tools to help me in my work. The future is coming - and this, to me, looks like the next giant leap we take - for good or for bad.
Have you tried telling chat GPT that is in expert in whatever subject you want to ask it about first?
It gives more intellectual answers.
You can then ask to explain it like your 10.
To me it works better this way lmao

Matrix will never come true, it's too energy inefficient to feed humans for power. They will just kill us off as a competitor for resources.
