My comment on concussions suffered by HS kids and leaving them a little f'd up might be a timely comment based on the news out of Manhatten and the attack on what now appears to be the NFL offices.

A sad situation for all involved.

Yeah, sounds like the guy was absolute bat shit crazy. Still scary though and they lucked out because he apparently took the wrong elevator to get to the NFL offices. May have been much worse death toll if he had gotten where he wanted.

Still not an accurate reflection of his production unless it's an 8 team league. Guy was top end of the league in production with a rookie QB and no real #2.

Sutton is for sure a #1, and he fits the system in Denver like a glove (not O.J.'s). Fantasy just reduces all of these players to numbers and statistics, not seeing what they bring to a team.

If accurate, I find this interesting.

First of all, I loved Burden's talent, skill-set and game-tape leading-up to the Draft but read several articles/reports suggesting he may be lacking in the areas of maturity, focus, professionalism and attitude ... kind of a George-Pickens-type of wide receiver. I'm interested in how the late Ticky Burden's grandson does.

Also interested in how a terrific (my opinion) Offensive Coordinator does as a first year Head Coach.
One outstanding set of coaching skills does not necessarily translate to another coaching role.

Just from an NFL-fan point-of-view, I think the Chicago Bears are one of the more interesting teams in 2025.

Frankly, I was shocked Ben Johnson took him but that might have been more the GM there than him (can't believe he got extended).

Word out of Bears camp is offense has not looked great... but I'm more inclined to put that on Caleb than him at this moment.

Johnson seems to be ruffling a lot of feathers in Chi-town, heard he has been all over Caleb as well.
I get it that he wants to make his presence known but he's got to earn a little respect first

What's the point of being a head coach in the NFL then? I doubt Ben Johnson will fail like the Bears prior HC's. Just an observation and guess on my part. No ruffling here.

Some guys are great position coaches ... Some are great coordinators ... Some are better head coaches than they were as position coaches or coordinators.

Just different skill sets for different roles. Some have it all ... others do not.

There have been some terrific coordinators that had no interest in becoming head coaches ... Kiffin, Johnson, Zampese, Shurmur. There have been some terrific coordinators that wanted to be head coaches ... and were not very good at it ... Buddy Ryan, McDaniels, Turner.

I'm often curious when a top-coordinator gets his first head coaching job.

Johnson is not the "touchy-feely" guy.. and there are real questions about whether he has that demeanor to be an HC. There's no doubt, in my mind, about his skills as an OC.

He designed an offense that has been top 5 in both points and yards the last three years and it's earned him a head coaching job. That ought to be enough to earn respect from everybody on that field. Everybody on that field who was with the Bears last year, was part of the #32 offense by yards, #28th by points, so maybe giving the guy a little respect might be in their best interest.

I thought the article was suggesting $23m/per for a fringe REAL starting WR was good business.

These WR contracts have gotten out of hand.

To me it has the look of a Belechick assistant being an instant Hardo
He hasnt earned anything yet, hasnt won a game. What happened in Detroit is irrelevant to the players. If that's his coaching style, it's an awfully tough pace to keep up. Maybe it's what they need, I dont know. Hardass coaches seem to crash and burn imo

I get the thought process ... it makes sense ... but by that logic, wouldn't things have worked-out differently for ... say ... Josh McDaniels?

Some guys command a room ... some don't. I mean, @Loyal walks into a room ... and you want to punch him.

I think there is a world of difference between a coordinator and head coach.

And ... Personally, I have no current opinion on Ben Johnson as a head coach. As I wrote above, I thought he was a tremendous Offensive Coordinator, and I'm very interested in how he does as a Head Coach.

And that is your perception.

He hasn't earned anything yet with respect to his peers. With respect to his players, he's earned a head coaching job and by default their respect. Period.

I love McVay and his style. But who's to say deep down he's not a hardass? He got rid of Gurley. He got rid of Goff. He got rid of Akers. When he's extremely pissed, he doesn't carry it over to the podium but that doesn't mean he's not extremely pissed. And throughout the history of the NFL, there have been MANY very successful hard asses.

He didnt do all that in the first 2 weeks of his first TC though
Johnson rode Caleb last week, this week it's Burden

We fo t however know if those two did or didn't do anything to warrant that or if McVay would have acted the same way.

Also I'm fine with this from Johnson, his biggest thing is to build a culture and the 2nd year franchise QB and a WR the position know the most as being divas seem like 2 good people to do this with. Jury is of course still out but if I were a Bears fan this would be welcome to me.
