This might be blasphemy, but we may be fortunate that Donald retired and we aren't paying top dollar for what would be declining production. Really, no DT would be worth north of $35M a year which is what he probably could command.

If it's an actual bluff. But it's more likely to be a bluff if the player has no leverage. Being on the last year of your deal is leverage. Having multiple years on your contract is not.
