I said back in 2022 that I felt Ramsey would possibly be a great safety.

But that's just a guess on my part.
That Buffalo game... :laugh4: Dude blowing by him like he was standing still.

On face value, that doesnt look bad for the team who trades for him, until the fine print shows:

Yep. I think quite a few of us thought it would be a great move for him. He wouldn't get the CB money though.

I think it's a little more likely if they flat out release him. I wonder how much he's got left in him.
I try to take the cap sites with a grain-of-salt but per OTC, a pre-June release of Ramsey carries a Dead-$ amount that is three times his 2025 cap hit of $16.6M.

Even a post-June release has Dead-$ that is almost two times the 2025 cap hit.

I'm just saying that it is highly unlikely we trade for him. I get that there MIGHT be a possibility IF Miami eats a huge chunk of his salary. But we'd still have to offer something to him and draft compensation to Miami. I don't see it happening. Miami may have no other choice though than to bite the bullet and release him. If that were to happen, they're still on the hook for his contract and the Rams might be tempted to swoop in and offer him enough to get him here. But it would almost certainly have to be a deal on the level of a mid-tier CB or maybe even a Safety.

IF.... and only IF they release him.. I think we should consider bringing Ramsey back. He loved it here. I actually think he still has something left at CB... and a move to safety at this point would be a possibility for him as well...

If he'd come back for a major discount....why not..

Agree completely.

Just wanted to point out how a big contract has huge negative cap implications when a team moves on from the player shortly after (one-to-two years) making the deal.

If I was the Rams, I would trade Derion Kendrick to Miami for Ramsey
... then tell the Dolphins to just keep Ramsey.

No, I don’t care how washed Ramsey is or how expensive that contract is. If we could trade Kendrick and swap for a higher pick (like, for example, #127 for #98) in the process, I’d do it in less time than a hummingbird’s heartbeat.

Ignoring the financials with Ramsey, IMO at 80% Ramsey is better than everyone we have at CB. I'd like to have him back, plus he has voiced how much he liked playing for the Rams. If Miami were to eat a chunk of his contract I'd smile with that trade.

Reality, it won't happen so I hope the guys the Rams have play hard and motivated.

Miami would be taking on a huge dead cap hit to trade him, to think they'd take on additional salary with that just makes it near improbable. Im with you though, as a player I'd love him back on the team and improves the backfield

According to one of the dolphin beat reporters down in Miami... that I heard on the radio this morning-

The fish aren't trying to do this because of the money issues. Apparently there's some kind of personal beef Ramsey has with the dolphin's staff. He hasn't pin pointed the staff member who he believes is someone on the coaching staff yet. Maybe that's just smoke to make it appear like this has nothing to do with his value on the field so trade interest isn't hurt, but this reporter sounded like he was sure this is all about personal bs.

Miami Drama Queens.

Dolphins are going to eat it when they trade Ramsey. He's older and even slower than when we moved him, they fucked up by paying him, and predictably now they're sitting on a player who completely lacks accountability when he fucks up or gets torched. I am sure his beef with the Dolphins staff relates to them calling him out on his BS.

So to move him will require the Dolphins to eat any value he has remaining in the trade. Nobody wants a player who is declining hard in his talent who also lacks accountability. That shit is cancer.
