So which deal was better?

Texans got a compensatory 3rd round pick this year(99) and a 2026 3rd rounder and dropped to 34 in the 2nd round.

Rams got a 7th round pick this year, a 1st round pick next year and dropped down to number 46 in the 2nd round.
Ours by a mile. First round picks are incredibly more valuable than later picks.

It was an extra 3rd remember. We've gone from having a late round first with a decimated board, no 2nd and 2 3rds, to having a mid-round 2nd, a 3rd and a 1st next year.

It's an outstanding deal.
No problem with the trade, but we gave up a lot of this year's draft capital. Dropped 20 spots out of rd 1 and gave up pick 101. So for this year, we reduced the ability for this draft to make an impact. Thus not an all on type draft for this year. This was a trade to extend the window by getting us a QB next year.

That would be my preference. Either that or Azareye'h Thomas, the CB from Florida State.
Are you confident he has the speed to run with receivers if the Rams continue to play more man coverage?

Its gonna feel like an eternity to that pick tomorrow and solid guys get picked before us
And they might move down a little further like in 19' when they traded back a few times before taking Rapp. They might want to get another mid rd pick.

The dudes name is Campbell. I'm shocked, you've been his biggest fan.

I guess we’re stuck with Coleman Shelton against the Eagles.Maybe he holds up better than Beaux.

Reality hurts - The Rams have a chance this season. I know the 1st rd pick is good, but a 1st & 3rd this season is a lot to give up.

If Campbell is a #18 overall talent, you’re passing on him. I would’ve traded up for him,but the cost of 18 was too much ;VALUE Chart). Once he got passed TBay you could see he was falling.

He won't have any clue if we were going to draft him when he makes his choice. Also, if Browns get 1st, they ain't trading it.
I'm pretty sure if Les wants Manning, he's mentioned it to him. As for the Browns, I was just using them as an example as a poorly run team.

I believed her the whole time. It's usually *other* teams that would confirm the Rams are making calls. It wouldn't be the Rams confirming that until after the fact.
There were some skeptics in here, but it seems she was right two years in a row.
