Sign Mike White...was cut by Miami. Played for LaFleur in NY. Has had a few 300 yrd passing games in the NFL and has won games. Bennett to PS.
You bastard! Are you insinuating Blue Pill Jimmy will be released? Already got my Jersey!

Nah, Bennett to PS...if he gets claimed just wish him luck and move on. Then Jimmy is still your #2 in week 3.

After watching Noteboom in TC and McClenden in preseason games, I think both looked pretty good. McClenden is a brick wall and hard to get around. Ñoteboom looks in great shape, may not be much of a dropoff from Aleric. I trust they're both ready.
I hope you're right. But when a good team has time to gameplan your ass things can look a lot different.

For Boom that gameplanning involves physicality in the matchup. McClendon I haven't watched enough to have a strong feel on his skills but if it's me I'd test his ass with speed around the edge and stunt fun and games all game long.

I hope you're right. Going to be a steady dose of Williams/Corum too I think in that first game. I just get the feeling McVay is going to run it down their throats with a few Stafford bombs mixed in.

I don't hate this idea.

God, I hope you're right. You know your shit, so I'm holding out hope.

The best version of Noteboom can absolutely thrive a couple of games.. as this blurb from his bio reminds us...

  • Saw action in 10 games (including the playoffs) during the 2021 season and registered a top-15 pass blocking grade (81.6) from 142 pass-blocking snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
McClendon is the wild card.. but he comes from a pedigree program and played ahead of some absolute studs. Hopefully he can be at least league-average for two games. It's not like he's some off-the-street scrub.

Huge fan of McClendon in his draft year. He's only twenty-three as well, and I think he has very real potential at right tackle. I don't think he's a left tackle, but we'll see how he does at right tackle first and cross that road when we get there.

Good to hear from someone who has actually seen them. Cheers!

I'm holding you to this!

Except we have all seen Noteboom over the last few years. I doubt he suddenly improved or regressed in one training camp
Precisely. This is an old and tired road.

Detroit's gonna be rough game one. Rams are going to need to run the ball. A lot. Do that and we should be fine. But if McVay abandons the run with those two at OT vs Detroit's rushers we're up shit creek.

I don't see the dropoff from AJ to NB as being very much. Noteboom was really bad at guard, but he's always been decent at both tackle positions.
You don't see how Noteboom gets pushed back into his QB's lap? The dude is a valuable depth piece but he is no starter at LT unless he's facing a speed rusher, and even then he's bound to get hurt.

At LT? No I really didn't. He'd get beat at times but I don't remember him getting pushed back into Staff.

Didn't Noteboom have an excellent game in the Tampa Bay playoff in 2021?

Memory is a funny thing. Noteboom gives ground vs strong rushers regardless of where he plays. He got moved from the interior because all those boys on the interior technique bring some power. As edges go he's fine unless he faces that strong type rush, so for example if he has to go vs SF Bosa will eat his ass.

But hey maybe Boom will make me eat some crow after this game. Or maybe Detroit will keep Hutch over the RT. I would love that.

That happens some of the time depending on who he's matched up against. But Jackson loses his fair share of reps too. I recall both of them being adequate but neither are great.

I don't get how you can come away from his games with that take, but hey, disagreements are the only constant on a board like this.

Jackson is stout as hell. Rarely gets moved unless he wants to. Sometimes he'll fumble on the back pedal, because he doesn't have nimble feet, but the dude can stone a strong rush.

When he first got his shot out there I expected him to get torched by speed rushers. Never happened. It is his weakness I think, overall. But he's a solid LT. Doesn't move as well as Boom, but he moves well enough and doesn't give ground constantly.

But I'm starting to feel like the dickhead poster here. And maybe rightly so. So gonna recuse myself from this one and cross my fingers vs Detroit.
