Be interesting to see what happens when he is activated. People been down on Parkinson but I honestly don't think there is a whole lot of difference between the two. Both are mid-tier TEs who do their job well but not great. Just for some comparison....

2025
Parkinson - 3.8 rec/game - 33 yards a game

2024
Higbee - 3.1 rec/game - 33 yards a game
exactly why we need to draft / sign a F/A TE who's a genuine threat.

Yeah I think the Rams brought him in to be an all-rounder like Higs. They knew they couldn't rely on Long, who gets injured if someone looks at him wrong. And Allen's more of a pass game type and has a way to go overall.

He's covering Higs' loss. TE definitely is one of those positions where, if a pass game threat stud is there for us in the draft, we would take him and juice this offense. Given that Kupp is aging and gets beat up, I'd say either that pass game TE or a big slot threat period are needs for us to ensure the long term health of this pass game. I would love to see us go get a stud TE, though admittedly I'm conflicted on that because I want a LT badly as well.

I was just at a soccer tournament with my daughter. Those girls get rough. My daughter is the goalie and she's even gets into the shoving and elbowing.
I’ve always enjoyed women’s soccer more than the men. The men are boring. They sit back and wait for the other team to make a mistake. You can spend an hour or two watching and never see a real attempt to attack the goal, just some random, feeble kicks towards the goal.

The women are more aggressive. They try to score every time they get control of the ball. And yes, they can get pretty rough about it.

It’s the blocking, especially on run plays that keeps Higbee in the starting lineup. It’s tough to find a good receiving TE who can block as well as Higbee.

Parkinson’s appeal must have been his blocking because he didn’t see the ball that much with the seahawks. I haven’t seen him do enough in any area that would lead me to believe he can supplant Higbee this year. It would take a sharp decline in skills due to his recent injuries to fall below Parkinson.

I think he was signed to be a blocker based on what I read when he signed. I’m guessing McVay grew tired of Hunter long always being injured.

He wasn’t concussed.
He had the wind knocked out of him.
Folks don’t even know what a concussion is. You don’t just bounce back from one. You surely aren’t talking this coherently less than an hour later

Yeah, that’s not remotely true.

My first concussion, I bounced right back. Was bad, lost vision in my right eye for a week, but I could easily have passed a cognitive test.

And yet… still had a bad concussion with several weeks of post concussion symptoms.

And since my TBI as well as the near death of my son to a head injury (skull fracture with hemiparesis) , I’ve spent the better part of 30 years studying brain injuries.

You’re right in that most folks don’t know what a concussion is, but respectfully that includes you.

If you have a doubt, feel free to express it as a doubt. Making false assertions doesn’t address the issue and only makes the ensuing argument a Dunning Kruger battle.

Armchair doctors know better than the people doing the evaluation.

Any neuro worth their salt will tell you that immediately diagnosing concussion is highly subjective and sometimes impossible as immediately post concussion, there is no sign of neurological trauma. There is no scan or empirical test. The best examiners will admit to a high failure rate especially as compared to empirical tests such as scans or EEGs used for other injuries.

I don’t know if he was or wasn’t concussed, but it doesn’t clear things up to assert a level of accuracy that isn’t there.

Ignorance is bliss.
You dont know anything about me, or my history to make such a ludicrous statement.
I am absolutely educated on the topic, you could not be more wrong

Doesn’t change how wrong you are and you absolutely are wrong.

This board hates when I go into granular detail, but I’ll be happy to including the latest research, medical papers and published articles in peer reviewed journals if you prefer.

This isn’t personal, it’s just information and in this instance, your information was incorrect. No need to take offense.

The team doctor cleared Burrow to play, per NFL rules and guidelines. Nothing else matters. None of us were in the tent with him.

Ouch, Godwin done for the year with ankle break/dislocation and now Evans out until at least week 11 with a hamstring issue. Now that is a tough pill to swallow to lost WR1 & WR2 in same game. We can basically understand, it was/is not pleasant.

Do I hear a 1st for Kupp to the Bucs? Again, love Kupp, but a 1st does it.
