Thursday night football doesn't feel like primetime to me. More of a nuisance.

Couldn't possibly agree more. If fucking HATE Thursday night games. I suppose I'd tolerate them if the league had a policy of giving both teams a bye the weekend before the Thursday game, but alas, the NFL is too short-sighted to do such a thing.

At first glance, schedule looks brutal.

Tough teams early, easier matchups late in season. (I usually prefer it the other way around).

Bunch of teams after their bye, ouch.

If the Rams have to get screwed over schedule-wise, just as well it's for 2023, since it's a re-load year anyway.

I actually like our home schedule. Outside of the fuckhole whiners and eagles, I'd say they are all winnable (if healthy). I'm likely planning on attending the Cards game on 10/15, possibly the Steelers on 10/22, then play it by ear for the later games against Browns, Commodes, and 'Aints. If I was down in LA still, I'd just be season ticket holder (a dream of mine someday), but, alas, I'm up in Northern Oregon where the drive is damn long.

Brutal beginning and end with the away games but have grown accustomed to it. Hate having 9 away games every other year too.

I hope McVay changes his preseason tactics. Especially with all the young players. We can't start out slow this season. It would have been nice to have a little easier start to break in the players.

At least the Rams get GB in early November and not in mid December or January. It will be cold in Baltimore and NY but nothing like GB in December. If the Rams make the playoffs they will have to earn it and no one can say they backed in. Pretty harsh first 5 games for a team that doesn't always get off to good starts. But we are going to learn a lot about this team in those games. Morris absolutely can't play these teams uber soft.

Yeah 11-6 is possible. That should be good enough to take the division, if not they should be the top Wildcard which might be a better spot in terms of who they draw in the playoffs. If they stay reasonably healthy they should be competitive in every game, then it will come down to who makes the most mistakes.

Looking at that first three the best scenario is we upset Seattle week one. Even if we lose the next two getting that first one lets us get back to .500 if we beat a Colts team that has a rookie QB. That's my hope, that we're 2-2 after the first four.

From there Eagles a likely loss. But then we have another four game stretch where .500 is possible. So come the bye feels like 4-5 would be solid.

That final 8 games is where I think the Rams make a little noise. 5 winnable games in that group, 3 likely losses. If things go that route we're talking 9-8 which is a lot better than many expect of the 2023 Rams. So hoping we do far better than that of course but I think 9 wins is a good reference for estimating our ceiling this season.
