Literally the nicest thing that could be said here.

I like Young, I like Hampton (who could definitely be a defensive weapon at inside/edge), but Mathis? Ehhh. I still prefer Hardy and Thomas. And then you have Hoecht (who I still think fits better on the defensive line (5-tech) than outside edge.)

There goes Wypler. Would have much preferred him to a 3rd edge prospect. Oh well.
I don't know why he lasted so long. Most mocks I saw had him going in the 3rd round. A couple had him late second. The scouting report I read said he can be driven back to the quarterback. I guess they figured they already had one of those guys in Allen.

I never love the Rams drafts at the time of the draft.

But, Avila/Young/Turner/Hampton/Allen/Hodges-Tomlinson all seem like good picks.

Overall, I think we can't complain too much. 2023 seems like a transition year for us. We can't expect these guys to be immediate contributors. Well, except maybe Avila. They need to get to work to see how many of these guys can contribute next year and beyond. Maybe by the time we have the resources to sign good players some of these guys will be ready to fill certain roles. And we can go all in for another run.

Agreed overall. They are looking for guys that are going to be good next year.

I think we're full up on the OL at this point. (Although, we may draft a practice squad guy in the 7th.)
Alaric
Boom
Allen
Hav
Avila
McClendon
Bruss
Anchrum
Shelton

That's 9 OLs. Teams generally don't keep more than 8 or 9 OLs.

Still have Zach Thomas and AJ Arcuri as well, though I agree they are 10 and 11.

I bet Allen's a cap casualty, and even then, there's still A.J. Arcuri and Zachary Thomas to consider. I like Thomas a lot.

EDIT: Also, I bet that Noteboom stays on the PUP list for a while, so we'll still need another potential offensive lineman.

I don't know - I really think we could get twitchier on the OL. But that's just me.

Not sure if McClendon translates better as an OG at the next level.

I'd still like to see us add Vorhees if he makes it into the 7'th.
