That Kirk contract is crazy. Maybe he breaks out and has everyone eating crow by this time next year. Who knows. But that is a big overpay based on his play to date.

Any Jacksonville signing needs to be viewed through the lens of reality. That is, the Jaguars likely have to overpay to get players to sign there. Similar to the Rams in the dark ages. It is important to keep that in mind, to be fair to them. But if you are going to pay well above market, at least sign an A list player at his position group..... similar to how the Rams shelled out to pry Jake Long from the Dolphins, who was a very sought after LT on the open market (and played quite well for the Rams before his injuries).

Just when you like a couple of their signings they do this. That’s #1 wr money for a #2 at best.
Yeah same, I was about to compliment them on being able to nail down a decent second option for Lawrence and then I saw the contract. But when you're a dysfunctional organization you over pay for everything.

Chasing after that elusive Superbowl win
You never know. Could have said the same about Whitworth in 17' signing on to this team, with a 30 yr old coach and an organization with 13 straight yrs of losing.

If the their QB can step up under Pederson, they could be like the Bengals in 2-3 yrs. I mean it's not likely, but just never know.

Either way is fking absurd...

Steve Keim is laughing his ass off right about now.
I just saw that Kirk was the last pick from Arizona’s 2018 draft class - Keim still having a job is worthy of him laughing his ass off.

Lawrence & Kirk offer a formidable duo, and even with Kirk's expense, consider that Lawrence remains cheap for a few more years. jmo.
Idk, seems like a big IF to me. To be honest I haven't followed his career closely but at a glance this signing looks to be about potential and not production. As Rams fans we've seen how that usually ends up.

We'll just have to wait & see, but you can bet there are some secondary free agent WR choices who are pretty happy right about now after seeing this contract.

That would take 1500+ yards and 12+ TDs. I see 800/6 at best. I’ll eat crow if wrong.

Not really. Whitworth was 35 and didnt really have any suitors. He wanted to go to the Giants but they decided to stick with Erick Flowers. Scherff just turned 30 and has multiple suitors but opted for the most $$.
What you quoted was just a joke, making light of his choice. Good for him to grab that dough, but make going from one awful organization to another
