Every FA period we all patiently wait to see what Snead will do to address our needs and losses. We almost always are very quiet for a painfully long time. In the end the results have been great so here I wait and I am not buying into the panic this time

By letting Miller go won’t Rams qualify potentially for a 3rd round comp pick?

I thought it was based on $$$.

Googled:

If a player signs with another team for a high-end value (say $20 million annually) and the team that lost said player did not add the same amount of equal-level free agents, it would then likely receive the highest possible compensatory selection (third round).

Von Miller has accrued enough time in the league that we only get a fifth. I don’t know the rules that well, but what is certain is that we’re only getting a fifth for Von.

But Von is a 10 year vet that compensation for comp picks is capped at a 5th round. The highest we could get for him is a 5th.

Okay... Bills really messed up my take. Oh well.

I'm realizing reading Jourdain and others that it's HIGHLY unlikely we get Wagner.

If anything, we like E Jones and Travin Howard and will probably focus on replacing DWill.

Wouldn't surprise me if Fowler returns on the cheap, but I think this year we're not making huge FA signings like in year's past...

That could change if we somehow get Gilmore...

I would love Wagner for sure. But I would agree that if we can replace DWill and get at least a rotational player at EDGE, I'd be happy.

Yeah, I'm really down with the Von news, but I'll bounce back. Was a helluva way to wake up from a nap, tho...

The news forced the practical hat on and as much as I think Wagner would be a huge upgrade especially with our Run D, we just don't invest in that position.

We probably can afford Gilmore, but not sure the Rams want to go that route, either.

The hard part about this time of year is the not knowing.

Plus, I think the org really put a lot of eggs in the Von returning basket and will take some time to adjust and guys are getting grabbed up quickly...

I’m pretty excited and happy with what Snead & Co did on the offensive side. I fully expect OBJ to return as well.

Defensively it’s another story. An elite pass rusher and #2 CB gone is a big hit to this defense. I’m not sure we do much else. Interesting strategy by them - but they have the benefit of the doubt with me now. We do have some young guys who potentially could break out on D - Long, Rochell, Jones, Lewis & Chris Garret. That’s asking a lot for a team that is looking to repeat. I still think Snead has something up his sleeve or will eventually find it for us.
