Somebody will sign him, it wont be a bad play. Doesnt mean they wont draft a QB. Could do worse for a bridge QB than Carr
My point was the Colts have gone from castoff QB to castoff QB and haven't been able to win shit. Now that they have a high pick it would be just like them to settle for a castoff QB like Carr and draft a receiver or something else instead because Irsay is on death's door and doesn't want to wait for a QB to develop.

Yes might work out for them of course. Carr isn't garbage but he's definitely another guy who won't get you anywhere of note.

Guy can't stay healthy and be on the field. He's played 3 defensive snaps in the 3 games he was active so far this year. Last year he was only active for the last 2 games.
His first season was very good. If the injuries were not serious, maybe he gets over it with a better workout program. Or, maybe he’s lazy and doesn’t like to work out. That could be part of why they gave up on him.

Maybe that’s because he was a second round pick. Media types may overvalue him based on that.

I guess if used differently by another DC he could be more valuable as strictly a box safety type. But that is possibly the easiest position to fill in free agency.
He's one of those guys who you look at his PFF grade and have to laugh to yourself. Because he's good at nothing. I mean he's ok in the box, and might be a good player had we kept Wade around. But he's inconsistent even in tackling, inconsistent over the top, and inconsistent in quarters calls.

I mean just spitballing here but if you remove the teams who play quarters, then consider the general strength of FA classes with safeties due to the low cost of them, then remove the teams who need guys who can play over the top, then consider that SS are quite prevalent on the market and in every draft, I would be surprised to see him get a nice FA offer.

But I readily admit I might just be biased against him. Also I admit I don't rewatch games with all 22 like I used to. So we'll see. But when talking SS the very best of them, those being the ones who are LB sized and run great 40 times plus have good film, they go off the board starting round 2 it seems. And every year there just seems like there's a ton of them. So all told that's why I look at him like he's sliced liver but hey if he can net us a comp pick I'll be wrong and goddamn happy about it. :woozy2:

Derek Carr to Indy?

In regards to the Raiders benching Carr:

Davante Adams left a good situation in Green Bay with a very good QB named Rodgers, so he could recreate the college magic with Carr.

So it’s possible that next year Adams won’t have a good Qb and neither Rodgers or Carr will have a receiver of Adams caliber to pass to.

It’s funny how things workout. Davante should have asked for a trade to a legit contender or a better head coach. Josh McDaniels is a red flag for me.

Faider fans are saying this was Carr asking to sit so he doesn't get hurt and they can trade him in the off season. Somebody will trade for him there are too many QB needy teams to not.

I tend to agree. A return of a 6th round pick for Rapp may be wishful thinking.

Once again, I wasn’t impressed with the pick. Trading out of round one to get an extra third round pick and picking Rapp late in round 2 seemed like a huge jump in talent from the back of round one. I previously mentioned that they could have stood Pat and picked Jenkins, who they reportedly liked. Or another player.

But Snead is too invested in his concept that draft picks are crapshoots and you can increase the odds of hitting on some picks if you have more of them. That’s how he missed out on Wagner. You’d think he’d recognize the pattern.

Yeah it's crazy. He had a really good rookie season with Wade. I think the lesson with safeties is that they're the most dependent position to matching how the DC calls it. And if you don't have a good match there then you're gonna have problems.

Since I've been talking shit about him Rapp will probably go somewhere he matches the DC and be a pro bowler. :laugh2:

What I think is funny is how Davante Adams bolts from Green Bay to play with his old college buddy who is now gone and Adams wont have anyone to throw him the ball

Nobody is gonna trade for this contract, he'll be cut and then will have some teams interested. Along with Baker, Brady, Wentz, Darnold... etc

Nooooooooo lol

The Raiders are protecting themselves. If Carr got hurt.. 40 million in guarantees trigger for Carr.

He was benched because they don’t want him getting hurt and being forced to pay $40 million.

Him leaving the team after being benched is a different thing.
If they're going to trade him the 40 million is irrelevant the new team will inherit the contract.

I don’t think Carr is garbage I think he can be average to above average…..to be honest I’m not a believer in josh McDaniel. His track record as a head coach speaks for itself but his play calling is questionable at times and or offensive game plan. Just look at the rams game they clearly came in with the intent to bully us run run run but it was the pass that was more damaging and he just continued to run run run even when jacobs was clearly in pain. If I’m the giants or jets and a slew of other teams I have interest especially if cut. Would be ironic if he ended up in Houston as a bridge though.

If he’s hurt, who is going to trade for him?
I didn't realize if he played the last two games he was guaranteed to get hurt. Who knows the extent of this injury he's fated to get and the time he'll be out either. But we do know there are about 10 teams that will be desperate for a QB either from free agency or the draft.

Hey, I’m just saying the Raiders decided it wasn’t worth the risk.

IF Carr got injured… $40 million in guaranteed money is triggered.

IF Carr got injured, he has less trade value.
