The Rams had the #1 overall Defense with Troy Reeder and Kenny Young playing ILB most of the season. You really think they are going to commit quality resources at that position?
I would like to upgrade Reeder with someone who has much better lateral quickness, but if it happens at all, it will be with a mid to late draft pick.
Yeah I think you're right re: when they address it. It has never been a priority.

But we could argue it by God. We could storm Rams Park and tell Les Snead that while a #1 Overall Defense is a great thing IF he wants to win it all he has to be able to shut down offenses with different strengths. We could demonstrate how Green Bay toyed with that defense isolating Hill and the ILBs, double moving Williams, and otherwise shredding our contain with that excellent RB of theirs but not just him of course. Yes I am certain that he will listen.

Thought the release of Rodney Hudson was one of the more interesting NFL news items of the day, so I went to a couple Raiders Fan Forums.

One has a thread titled “Fuck Jon Gruden”.
It’s 159 pages long.

The Rams have a GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY right now to get a really good player at a REAL POSITION OF NEED!!! I hope they seize their opportunity and SIGN HIM!!!

I know we don't have the money, but I'd LOVE to swoop in and just YOINK Trent Williams from them.

Not gonna happen, but I've played it out in my head and the wailing and gnashing of teeth by 9er fans in my ears is... glorious...

Is there something I'm missing on Marvin Jones? He fits the mold of a Robert Woods type receiver just not as talented. We need speed and he has struggled with separation. Why him and not someone like John Ross

Having identical types of WRs fits what McVay wants to do with the offense.

When they go trips right... you have no idea which guy is running which route or if they're all blocking.

If you have people who are "possession, deep and outlet" it's easier for teams to cover.

Also, Tampa showed that adding another viable weapon to Godwin and Evans in adding Antonio Brown. Adding Gronk didn't hurt, either.

I'm less enamored with which player and just want us to be able to come out of the gate strong and win it all at home.

Execution and availability in the form of health are often better indicators of success than talent or ability. I mean even with the cheating, look what the Pats were able to do with really mediocre WR talent...

^ the Bucs were holding a royal flush and never gave away their hand. They got Fournette for nothing, once he got acclimated the running game set up Brady's PA. This was blatantly obvious, and then AB suddenly shows up (legal issues postponed? Ignored?). We wouldn't have beat them in the NFCCG if we got by the Packers. In the end the Super Bowl is just a glamour show yet those players work their ass off and the coaching staff puts in 80 hours weeks, they had the perfect combination.

I would love to have him too but there are teams that might be able to make Hudson the highest paid center in the NFL.

Think that is currently Linsley at $12.5 per. Do you think the Rams could go that high?

I posted earlier that my guess is that Hudson will go for the money but I don't know.

I’d be down with signing Jackson. Doesn’t count against the comp pick formula, is an excellent returner, and he could be Hill’s replacement.

Adoree Jackson is a lousy tackler, which is something that McVay doesn’t like. He and Staley were willing to put up with Troy Hill’s inconsistent coverage because he is a very good tackler. Would they over look it for a guy like Jackson?

At 32 years of age he may also be thinking about rings and a Gold jacket, McVay and the Rams might just get him there.
