Maybe for you. I didn’t like either contract when they signed them. That was an absurd amount for Gurley, way above what running backs were getting. Plus he had a torn ligament in college. I thought it was dumb.

Then Cooks gets a huge deal. You give that kind of deal to a true top receiver. The Rams has two better receivers on the roster. Plus he’s small and tries to be too physical for his size. Hated them.

No recency bias with me. And I’ve been critical of Snead for the last two years. You must have me on ignore or something.
Gurley was 5 years removed from his injury and passed all physicals. It was a big contract but Zeke and others got paid/ will get paid the same way.

Same for Cooks. 5 straight 1000 yard seasons. I think he led our team in receiving that year. Look at some other receiver contracts. Watkins at 16 million a year. Landry the same. Tyrell Williams at 11 million. Again if cooks had not have gotten injured he would've yet again had 1000 plus yards.

It's good that you've remained consistent apparently, but to say those deals were bad at the time is biased. They're only bad because both guys ended up having significant injuries.

Littleton was a tough loss for me I felt he gives the Rams more than Fowler JMO. I understand the economics, and a new DC especially being an ex LB Coord. says alot.

That being said we trusted Snead/Komer and McVay on Saffold and that DIDN'T work out. Various reasons but nevertheless it hurt our team. I feel that XL was way better than every other ILB on the team by a longshot.

All this said the two weaknesses on the Rams and I believe only 2 is Run D and the OL. We seem headed in a bad direction for the Run D losing CL, possibly losing Fowler and possibly cutting Mathews. Plus we need to address the OL.

Littleton wasn't a good run defender.

I'm going to need a cue card to be able to figure out the guys on our defense, except Donald....

Seriously, this if feeling like a rebuild year for the defense...

Cutting Gurley results in a dead cap figure of over $20 million. We lose about $3 million doing that. Let's just say I think Silver is full of shit.
Agreed. Maybe he has some kind of info but I doubt it and he always seems to love shitting on the Rams.
He was a heck of a signing for us a few years ago. Love his attitude. But it makes sense. We can spare a CB.
Yeah, I liked him but thought his play was off last year. Suppose Long slides in there?

Now watch him end up with the Ain'ts.
