hekker was awful last season. maybe worse than the oline.

Hekker was 10th in net average per punt. If you remove the three ahead of him who punted in three games or less, he was 7th.

An off year by his standards, yes, but still upper third of the league.

Because of restructuring, cutting him for 2020 would save a tad over $1 million, but of course would require another punter be signed.

So basically, for almost no savings you're advocating cutting a guy who was still above average though below his usual standards, when two years ago he was great.

Umm, no.

where did i say i wanted the rams to cut him?

The Cleveland Browns have just released ILB Christian Kirksey after two injury-filled years. Having said that he is only 28 years old and an excellent (albeit when healthy) inside linebacker.
Do we kick the tires on a guy like this?

Hekker was horrible last year, but to Hekker standards. To NFL standards he was good. I don’t see him having an off year after what 5-7 years of domination?

seriously the guy broke his own NFL record. If I have to choose between him an GZ I'm choosing Hekker.
How about you two? Who would you keep?

This is a false choice. We don’t have to choose between Zuerlein and Hekker.

If you look at the quoted comments and the discussion no one was suggesting we have to cut both. I was curious to see who would be their answer.

But hey since you joined and we had to cut one to get under the cap who would be your choice?

Because of dead money cutting Hekker saves almost nothing. If the Rams really needed to decide between resigning Zuerlein and cutting Hekker, it's a non-issue. In fact, they shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath for cap reasons.

I read YOUR comment asking the question, how do we choose between a kicker and a punter. It’s not a choice we have to make so why bring it up?

Your missing the point, I read OTHER comments and responded with a hypothetical question in turn.
It’s obvious we don’t have to chose but I was curious on views and opinions.

if you don’t like that, don’t respond. Simple.
