Gonna get some air

Screenshot_2016-10-23-13-51-17~2.jpg

Some crisp beautiful air.

WTF am i doing reading about a loss other dudes suffered when i can go out and secure a win on the day? I'll post some all-22 stuff later after the game is published. Lots of good stuff usually comes out of those discussions.

Sucks that the Rams lost.
Not gonna let it kill my day though.

C y'all later. ;)

Anti-vent thread Rams v Giants (no pejoratives)

Just for people who wanna discuss the game rationally and without using pejoratives like noodle arm, fat-slob, moron and such.

Not a good game by Keenum. IMO, only one of those ints was on him due to a bad throw (to Tavon). I saw a TON of missed sight adjustments in this one though. You'd think this far into the season they'd be on the same page with those things, but they're clearly not. Especially on the last pass of the game. I mean, Keenum even signaled that he was going over the top and Quick didn't seem to acknowledge it. Maybe it's time for less reliance on those things and just draw up simpler plays. Who knows.

Saw a lot of bagging on Robsinson too, but I think he did well all things considered. I'll have to re-watch it later. A couple of penalties, but he was going up against one of the premiere pass rushers in the game. Credit Spags for moving JPP around the line though. Gotta do that with your best guy on the line.

Kept Beckham from getting 200 yards (as per NFLN guy). Held him in check all game, actually.

Hekker is money in the MFing bank. Yeah he's just a punter, but he's the best in the NFL and it's not even close.

Can't win a game that close with that many turnovers, and that was the difference.
Surprising that it came down to the final play to tie the game despite that many turnovers too.
That's a testament to teamwork and the defense keeping it close.

That's all I got until I re-watch.

Korn resurrected!

Maybe I'm jumping them up too high after 2 days. However, I'm pretty damn confident they've returned to glory with the new album, The Serenity of Suffering. Been a long time fan and experienced the roller coaster of their last few albums. Wow, what an epic effort to badass nu metal again. Can't stop listening. \m/

GDT: Giants @ Rams @ London

Well, being a night owl on the West coast i'm thinking i'll just stay up all night for this one if i can.

It's time to end the 2 game skid and get to 4-3. Rams will still be sitting firmly in the thick of the race if we can get it done today.

Quick thoughts: Defense has to be awake, prepared and schemed. Undermanned today...less pass rush and cover corner. I don't like the idea of another shootout which it could very well become.

What a great day for #30 to go off and dominate right? Let it be so.

UCLA

Damn, am I the only guy on here that has to endure both the Rams and Bruins efforts to stop a team from running the ball?
Utah has crammed it down the Bruins throats for 342 and the game is far from over. Hard to understand why a college team would have the same exact issues now as they did in 1980, with no fix ever happening.
Why are the Bruins ALWAYS too small and ALWAYS getting steamrolled in the second half of games and seasons? Fucking maddening, even when they play perfect for most of the season, inevitably they shit the bed against a team that can play with power and run the ball. A glaring example would be 1998, when the undefeated and#3 Bruins ended their regular season by letting Edgerrin James gallop for 299. Miami sucked ass that year, and they crushed UCLA, go figure.
The Rams rush defense has never been what I expect it to be since about the eighties, maybe someday we will be consistently stout but I haven't seen it in a long time. Sigh
Rant over....
Until now that the game is over. 3-5? It's a very long stretch away from the Terry Donahue days. While he could never get us over the hump on a national stage, he was a damn sight better than what we've had since. 3-5? Are you fucking kidding me, Mora look out.
You can't reside in LA, with all that HS talent swimming around you, and go 3-5. Straight bullshit.

Who Do You Want To See The Most From Tomorrow?

Offense: Tie: Todd Gurley/Rob Boras - The need to get Gurley more involved in the offense is paramount. Remember last year when Gurley was running over a tired defense in the fourth quarter? I would love to see that on Sunday. A Rams lead going into the fourth quarter with Gurley running over the Giants and running out the clock. That brings up Boras. I like what I saw last week. He is changing his approach and Case seems to be getting more players involved. I'd like to see Boras step it up again and keep the opposing D guessing. A balanced attack is going to be needed to get over a mediocre season, and we are still one dimensional. Side note: Please get rid of the Tavon jet sweep. It's just not fooling anybody anymore.

Defense: Troy Hill. Our focus on the front seven and it is agreed that pressure on Manning will prove to be very important if we want a win tomorrow. However, that is what we are built to do. With Trumaine Johnson out, Manning (like everyone we have seen) will be trying to expose Hill. I'd like to see the newcomer show up and have a great game.

Who are you guys looking from a little more from?

Let's see what you got. The poll serves to summarize.

Pete Prisco, likes the Rams this week; http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/p...ms-chargers-really-eagles-jags-are-best-bets/

Rams plus-3 vs. Giants: This will be an early start in London, so body clocks could be an issue. I think the Rams' defense will pressure Eli Manning into mistakes. The Rams won't do much on offense, either, so look for L.A. to win a close game late.

Here is ESPN best bets; http://www.espn.com/chalk/insider/s...reak-how-bet-new-york-giants-los-angeles-rams

Matchup: New York Giants at Los Angeles Rams (in London)
Spread: Opened New York -3; now New York -3 (EVEN)
Total: Opened 44; now 43.5
PickCenter public consensus pick: 53 percent New York

Public perception: Other bet-tracking sites have the public more squarely on the Giants. Say what you will about Odell Beckham Jr.'s sideline antics, but he really stepped up on the field last week to help beat the Ravens.

Wiseguys' view: Sharps are split on this game, with those on the Giants preferring to lay -2.5 and those on the Rams taking the +3.

Dave Tuley's take: Both teams have been inconsistent (both are 3-3 SU; Rams are 3-2-1 ATS, while the Giants are 1-3-2 ATS), so I'm really not sure which teams are going to show up in London. The Rams, for all their improvement, are still ranked No. 31 in total offense, and I think it's more likely that the defenses will show up, so I'm on the under.

The pick: Under 43.5* (lean to Giants -3)

Rufus Peabody:

Last week, the Giants became only the second team this season to win a game with a turnover differential of minus-three or worse. The first team to do it: the same Giants team in Week 2 against New Orleans. New York is now minus-10 in turnover margin this season, and a big reason has been Eli Manning, who has fumbled five of 11 times he has been sacked. As a whole, the Giants have lost seven of their 10 fumbles, while forcing only five opponent fumbles (and recovering just one of those). Basically, the Giants are an average team that has had some awful fumble luck. Unfortunately, I don't have a play on this game, as I make the Giants a 2.5-point favorite.

Pick: Pass

Massey-Peabody Line: New York -2.5; Total: 44.8

Mike Clay:

Prediction: New York Giants 21, Los Angeles 17

The pick: New York Giants and the under -- NYG -3, 43.5

Marshall Faulk Q&A with Sporting News

Vinny Iyer

http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/new...ng-back-jared-goff/1ewi5j4f2f8331rxq4xvsiyp4y

Marshall Faulk is one of the smartest players in NFL history. He proves it when he breaks down current players and teams as an NFL Network studio analyst.

He proved it to us over the phone, too.

SN: You have a choice between the Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott and the Cardinals' David Johnson. Do you like one of their games more than the other's?

Faulk: I like them both. If you switched teams, you would be getting the exact same production from both guys. They do a lot of the same things. They're good running inside, they're good running outside. Both can catch the ball. David may have gotten a chance to line up as a receiver and showcase his talent more because he played receiver at one point in time, but if the Cowboys asked Ezekiel Elliott to do that, he could do it, too.

It's just good to see such talent at the running back position, and both of them being the kind of guys who can carry the load. You see a lot backs spitting time, a guy tapping out and the other guy coming in. Both of these guys are high-volume touches guys."

SN: Elliott has been great as a rookie as expected, but what you think of the big surprise there, the Bears' Jordan Howard?

Faulk: The Bears being in Illinois, as we know, are close in geography to Indiana, and they scouted him pretty well. They saw the talent. With them allowing Matt Forte to be gone and with not knowing whether Jeremy Langford could handle the load, they brought this kid in. Sometimes all you need is an opportunity.

Howard didn't play on very good teams at Indiana. There wasn't much talent around him, and you watched him produce. He produced pretty darn well against the good teams. The productivity wasn't like Ezekiel Elliott, but he didn't have the same help. Watching him now, it's good to see how he's been able to step in and not even have questions be asked about if there's a fall-off with him in the pro game.

SN: Speaking of Indiana, what are your thoughts on how the Falcons are getting the most of Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman in a happy committee?

Faulk: I don't want to lead you down the path to think the Falcons are trying to make both guys happy. The only way that both guys are happy if both guys are out there with the opportunity to compete. Both of them want to be starters, both of them want to be the guy — and that's why it's working. They're trying to maximize opportunity with each and every play. They're trying to outdo each other on every play.

That's what this is, that's what you get, that's how it is. That's all you want. If they continue to compete, you can give the ball to either guy, and nobody is capitulating the chance to be the No. 1 guy. That makes your team better.

SN: With Case Keenum starting to play well for the Rams, is there any chance for No. 1 overall pick to quarterback them this season?

Faulk: I don't know if there's a scenario for that. Jeff Fisher and Les Snead have subscribed to the fact that when they see what they need to see out of Jared, he'll have an opportunity to play.

With that, Case has to be playing severely bad. It has to be something drastic on Case's end coupled with the things they want out of Jared happening while he's going through this process. And these are just practice things. Then you have to put him in the game and see if those things translate to him playing winning football.

SN: The Vikings are having an outstanding season, but do you think their lack of a running game will come back to bite them?

Faulk: They've only struggled to try to run the ball because there's no Adrian Peterson in there. If I'm a defense, guess what I'm going to do? I'm taking away the running game and making whoever's at quarterback beat me. When teams get tired of Sam Bradford throwing the football around to these receivers that everyone keeps saying aren't No. 1s and they're beating you, then the running game is going to open up. Until then, Sam needs to continue to have the games he's having, and the defense has to keep playing the way it has. You give Mike Zimmer a lead, and you put him on defense, he's going to call a great game against an offense that's playing catch up.

Faulk spoke to SN on behalf of Courtyard, the league's official hotel. For Super Bowl LI in Houston, one lucky fan and a guest will enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience in a decked-out NRG Stadium suite as winners of the Courtyard Super Bowl Sleepover Contest.

Explained Faulk: "In order to win, all fans have to do is submit their most passionate NFL fan photo via Twitter or Instagram by using the hashtag #CourtyardSuperBowlContest and they'll have a chance. It's that simple."

Faulk, who will be traveling more often for games starting in November, appreciates Courtyard's friendly stay wherever he's taking in an NFL game.

"What you want for those two days on the road is a hotel that feels like home," he said. "You want the people at the front desk to be hospitable. You don't want to feel like you're away, even though you are away. That's the experience Courtyard provides us.

Here We Are 5 Days Later in London (Crossroads)

After the Rams lost their opportunity to win head coach Jeff Fisher's signature game at the Lions den, his Rams fell to their usual 3-3 record for the 4th time in five seasons under his watch. This team is now certainly entering their fate with this epic crossroads game in London.

A 3-4 record is now looming and unless these 2016 Rams can find a way to will a victory from the Giants on Sunday, their playoff dreams will head down a road of lost opportunities and doubt.

Even with a loss Sunday, it's still possible some melt downs can happen from the NFC teams Los Angeles will be competing with for the 5th and 6th wild card seeds. The problem with this is so many things will have to fall in their favor right down to the last week of the season.

Clearly this is not a road the Rams want to venture down. Too much is at risk for the Psych of the players and the momentum they can achieve going into their bye week. With a victory these Rams can right their ship and sail to safer waters with a great surge of confidence.

Following this epic crossroads match vs the New York Giants Sunday, many will point out that even with a loss and a 3-4 record, there are still many winnable games for them in their next 4 contests.

I see some truth to that thinking but ultimately, I believe this game will tell much of their seasons fate. Of course they could reel off 3 or 4 victory's vs Carolina, NYJ, Miami and New Orleans but in the NFL that is always easier said than done.

Should the Rams lose on Sunday and their record fall to 3-4 the dynamics of their season goes down a road of too many unknowns...

Let's take a look at the NFC teams the Rams will likely be fighting for the 5th & 6th playoff seeds.

Redskins 4-2- would still be 4-3 with a loss at Detroit on Sunday
Packers 4-2- next game at Atlanta
Lions 3-3- they own the head to head tiebreaker with the Rams & host the Redskins Sunday
Rams 3-3- would be 4-3 with a win Sunday and have the tiebreaker vs NYG
Giants 3-3- would be 4-3 and own the head to head tiebreaker if they beat the Rams Sunday
Eagles 3-2 would still be 3-3 with a loss vs Minnesota Sunday
Cardinals 2-3-could get hot if they beat Seattle Sunday

Of this current group of NFC teams none of them look any better than than the Rams on paper yet the Lions and the Giants with a win on Sunday would be 2 crucial daggers on the Los Angeles Rams record.

Unless one or both of Detroit and New York were to collapse, this contest against the Giants is not a game the Rams can afford to lose no matter matter how weak their NFC competitors appear to look.

Many would have to think that 2 of the above listed teams not named the Rams will likely get on a roll, which is why this game for the Rams in London is their crossroads game.

A win Sunday would be a Giant Victory and would give the Rams significant control of their own destiny. A loss to New York will take them down a long road of regrets that they likely won't be able to recover from.
