Dream..

Had a wisdom tooth and molar pulled, so I had to stay off beer and edibles since last Wednesday... So this is my sober brain, yes I'm as odd sober as I am fuzzy. Now I have to speak this into existence.

I had a dream I was hanging out with and drinking beers with Rams HC Sean McVay and GM Les Snead, talking about how they should draft Hawkeye CB Cooper DeJean while we watched a prime Dave Mirra at the X-Games.

What a fucking dream, man. I didn't want to wake up.

2024 NFL free agency: Ranking available salary cap space for all 32 teams

2024 NFL free agency: Ranking available salary cap space for all 32 teams

The NFL offseason is officially underway, as the combine takes place this week, while free agency begins next week. Recently, the NFL announced that the official salary cap figure for 2024 would be $255.4 million -- which is up from $224.8 million. The $30.6 million increase is the largest in free agency history.

The "football business" is doing quite well, which is good news for all 32 NFL teams, as it gives them more financial flexibility for roster building. Some teams will use this boost to be even more aggressive in free agency, while others will sit back and reconsider cost-cutting measures.

Now that we are approaching free agency, this is a good time to revisit the salary cap situations for every team. Let's take a look.

Salary cap figures via Over The Cap on Feb. 26

TEAMCAP SPACE
Commodes$79,614,671
Titans$78,524,381
Bears$78,335,157
Patriots$78,070,006
Colts$72,075,573
Texans$67,321,290
Lions$57,614,821
Cardinals$51,104,463
Bengals$50,670,373
Buccaneers$43,682,067
Raiders$42,936,109
Rams$39,905,695
Vikings$35,807,132
Panthers$34,572,274
Falcons$33,004,013
Giants$30,601,691
Eagles$27,469,811
Jaguars$24,421,167
Chiefs$17,139,240
Ravens$16,631,328
Jets$12,756,122
Seahawks$12,569,647
Steelers$8,906,955
Packers$2,340,288
49ers-$5,046,251
Browns-$7,758,897
Cowboys-$9,863,127
Broncos-$16,811,078
Chargers-$25,607,797
Dolphins-$29,069,894
Saints-$39,879,497
Bills-$43,815,909

The Commodes, who also hold the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, lead the way with over $79 million in available funds. It's a good thing, because they have plenty of holes to fill on both sides of the ball. The Titans will be an interesting team to watch as well. They have the second-most available money as it stands, and are prepared to undergo a change in identity with Brian Callahan as the new head coach. The Bears are again sitting pretty this offseason with over $78 million in cap space. They also hold the No. 1 overall pick in the draft for the second straight year.

While the $30.6 million increase was good news, it doesn't mean everyone is out of the woods just yet. There are currently eight teams still above the cap number, which means they will be limited in what they can accomplish in free agency. The teams worst off are the Saints (-$39,879,497), and the Bills (-$43,815,909). Mickey Loomis and Brandon Beane will have to make some tough decisions to clear space.

OFFICIAL Key Dates for the 2024 NFL Offseason

NFL key dates for 2024 offseason: Scouting Combine, free agency, draft schedule, OTAs, start of training camp

The Kansas City Chiefs just won their second consecutive Super Bowl, officially concluding the 2023 NFL season. That means it's time to start gearing up for the 2024 offseason as 31 other teams try their best to end Kansas City's two-year reign atop the league, while the champs will undoubtedly look to do what they can this year to attempt a three-peat.

Throughout the next several months, teams will adjust their roster, coaching staff, and styles of play to get ready for the new season. In the space below, we're highlighting all the key dates and events to watch out for as the league prepares for the 2024 season.

Franchise/transition tag window
  • Feb. 20: Franchise/transition tag window opens
  • March 5: Franchise/transition tag deadline (4 p.m. ET)
NFL Scouting Combine (Indianapolis)

The 2024 NFL Combine will take place Feb. 26-March 4. The specific start times (Eastern) for each day's on-field workouts are as follows:
  • Feb. 29, 3 p.m. ET: Defensive linemen, linebackers
  • March 1, 3 p.m. ET: Defensive backs, tight ends
  • March 2, 1 p.m. ET: Quarterbacks, wide receivers, running backs
  • March 3, 1 p.m. ET: Offensive linemen
The first big date is coming up soon, as NFL teams will be able to utilize the franchise and/or transition tag beginning on Tuesday, Feb. 20. That window lasts until March 5, about a week before free agency opens.

In the interim, we'll have the NFL Combine, as hundreds of prospects will get measured, tested, interviewed, and worked out at and around Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Obviously, this is one of the biggest events on the offseason calendar, as it serves to both get teams a better look at prospects and set the stage for free agency soon after.

Free agency
  • March 11-13: Legal tampering period (Noon ET Monday to 4 p.m. ET Wednesday)
  • March 13: 2024 league year opens (4 p.m. ET)
The necessity of the so-called "legal tampering period" aside, it is going to open at noon on Monday, March 11 and last until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, at which point the new league year officially begins and teams can officially sign and/or trade players. Many deals are agreed to during the tampering period, but they cannot become official until after 4 p.m. on Wednesday. We've seen several times that players can -- and sometimes do -- reverse course even if they came to an agreement during the tampering period.

RamsFan4Life Retirement
  • March 15: From a legendary career in the porn industry
Annual league meeting
  • March 24-27: Annual league meeting in Orlando, Florida
NFL owner's meetings always bring with them some drama, and you can expect news about possible rules changes and more to come out of those meetings.

Offseason workout programs

The NFL gives teams with new head coaches a jump on their offseason workouts, as it typically takes those teams a bit longer to get up to speed. Teams with returning head coaches don't get to begin offseason programs until two weeks after those with a new head coach.
  • April 1: Teams with a first-year head coach can begin offseason workout programs
  • April 15: Teams with a returning head coach can begin offseason workout programs
Pre-NFL Draft
  • April 17: Deadline for NFL Draft prospects to meet at team facilities
  • April 19: Deadline for restricted free agents to sign offer sheets
  • April 24: Deadline to RFA match offer sheets; Deadline to meet with NFL Draft prospects at any location
In the final week before the NFL Draft, teams can wrap up their last meetings with prospects, but in those final seven days, they are not allowed to have the prospects come to their facility. They can meet with them virtually or at an outside location.

NFL Draft (Detroit)
  • April 25: Round 1
  • April 26: Round 2-3
  • April 27: Round 4-7
You know how this goes. The draft has become a three-day extravaganza that travels to a different location each season. This year it is headed to Detroit, where Lions fans will surely be appropriately amped up after their team's best season in years. The Chicago Bears are already on the clock with the No. 1 overall selection, which they have captured for the second consecutive year. (They traded last year's pick to the Panthers.)

Post-NFL Draft
  • May 2: Deadline for teams to pick up fifth-year option for 2021 first-round draft picks
  • May 3-6 or May 10-13: Three-day rookie minicamp
The 2021 draft saw quarterbacks go with each of the top three picks as Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson and Trey Lance came off the board. There are some no-brainer candidates for players whose options will surely be picked up (Lawrence, Ja'Marr Chase, Jaylen Waddle, Penei Sewell, Jaycee Horn, Patrick Surtain II, DeVonta Smith, Micah Parsons, Rashawn Slater, etc.) but some others could surprise.

Soon after those decisions are made, the players selected in the 2024 NFL Draft will report to team facilities for a four-day minicamp session. It is up to teams which of those two windows they want to utilize.

Lead-up to 2024 NFL season
  • Early May: NFL schedule release
  • May 20-22: Spring league meeting
  • Late May to early June: Organized Team Activities (OTAs)
  • July 17: Franchise tag deadline (4 p.m. ET)
  • July 23: Training camp opens
We already know which teams will play each other (and where), thanks to the NFL's rotating schedule rules. We just don't yet know when those games will happen. We'll find out for sure in the first or second week of May.

The rest of the offseason, with the exception of the franchise tag deadline (which is the deadline for tagged players to sign a long-term deal with that franchise) is more up in the air at the moment. When dates become available, we'll fill them in here.

Who’s on your draft “10 foot pole” list?

As in “I would not touch him with a…” (among consensus Top 75 prospects).

Mine:

Michael Penix, QB, Washington
Sure, he had a very good college career, particularly last season. He also has a bad track record staying healthy, and benefited from a WR with three players who will be drafted (including Rome Odunze). Not interested.

Chop Robinson, EDGE, Penn State
I keep reading about his athleticism, but where’s the production? In the 16 games he played over 3 years (!) he had 6 sacks. No thanks.

Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma
I just don’t trust OL from the Big 12. Plus, despite the fact that his strength is pass blocking, he has no left side experience. Better options elsewhere.

Zack Wilson as a backup

I am not a fan of this player nor do I particularly want him here. To be fair, I do believe he has arm talent, his problems are maturity and reading defenses IMO. That said, if anybody could make something out of this player it is Sean McVay. He resurrected Baker Mayfield and coaxed a win from Carson Wentz pretty much straight off his couch. Opinions? The cost to acquire should be no more than a 7th round pick.

My 10 favorite Rams games the last 25 years.

Honorable mention:
Week 18, 2023. I know. We already had the postseason berth. But Wentz beating the niners was a thing of beauty and anytime the Rams beat them, it has to be measured as one of the top games in memory.

#10b. Week 14, 2022. I know, WTF? In a 5-12 season? I only rank this game in the top 10 because it gave a longtime fan 1 thing to cheer about in an otherwise wasted season. You all know what happened. Baker Mayfield & Sean McVay. Plus probably the best catch/non-drop by Van Jefferson in his career.

10a. SB14. I know, it was longer than 25 years ago but it was our first Superbowl. So sue me! We gave the Steelers all they could handle. But we were overmatched in the end by a team that had won 3 of the last 5 Superbowls. Nothing to be ashamed of to be sure. But a team's first Superbowl, be it a loss or not, has to be ranked up there....provided it's not a game in which you only score 3 points after averaging 28.3 PPG on the year.

#9. Wild Card Week, 2000. WTF, another loss? Work with me here!! The Saints, like Tampa always seemed to play TGSOT tough. We had to beat them in the final week to qualify for the post season and then came right back to Marshall's hometown to meet them in the Wild Card Game. Though this was a loss and a deserved loss, it also showed the capacity for TGSOT to come back quickly from practically any deficit (much like SB36 the next year). It was deserved because we played sloppy until the 4th quarter (like SB36). Down 31-7 with just 12 minutes left in the game, any other team would be packing up the equipment. But this was one helluva comeback attempt. IIRC, this was the game Money executed two successful onside kicks on back to back plays. The first was recovered by the Rams but a penalty nullified it. Then he did it again and Dre Bly recovered. I thought Haslet was going to have a stroke!!! We know what happened. The Rams drove down scored the TD and got the 2 pt conversion to get within 3, then forced a punt that was fumbled by Az Hakim to put a fork in the Rams. Still as inspirational a comeback as you'll ever see, albeit not all the way.

#8. CCG in 2018. Rams at the Saints. The only thing better than an overtime win is an overtime win in the postseason. And the only thing better than an overtime win in the playoffs is an OT win in the playoffs vs Asshole Face. In a game remembered for an uncalled penalty, it's easy to forget the other uncalled penalties like a facemask on Goff in the red zone and roughing the passer against Goff late in the 3rd quarter. But it was one of the grittiest games JG played in his career with the Rams. And it got us to the Superbowl for the first time in 17 years. I will remember a lot of things from this game but the play JG made under pressure to get the ball to Higbee in OT was fantastic. This game should have propelled the Rams to a SB win but it didn't. It's still one of my top 10 (or 12) Rams games the last 25 years.

#7. CCG in 2021. Philadelphia at the Rams. The season started in Philadelphia with the Rams winning 20-17 in OT. McNabb fumbled on the first play of the game and the Rams recovered, then took it in for a TD. In the CCG, McNabb fumbled on the 2nd play of the game and Warner hit Ike for a 5 yd TD. Later in the first half Wilkins hit a FG, his 2nd and the Rams took a 13-10 lead but Philly drove down for a score making it 17-13. After a failed drive by the Rams the half ended that way. In the second half, after only 8 rushing attempts the first 30 minutes by Marshall (69 yds), Martz decided to go to the ground game. He called Marshall's number 7 straight times and 8 of the first 9 and the Rams got to the Philly 23 but had to settle for a FG. The defense forced a 3 and out with a nice tackle by Aeneas and the Rams went to work. Pass, run, pass, pass, pass, run, pass, run, run, run, the last one a 1 yard TD. (Marshall touched the ball 14 of the 20 plays to start the 2nd half, 13 runs, 1 rec.). They missed the 2 pt conversion and led 22-17. Two more 3 and outs by Philly, the second starting with a Wistrom sack for -10, gave the Rams the ball on their own 44 and on a 7 play drive, 6 Marshall touches (5 runs and a rec), a reception by Conwell and the Rams had a 29-17 lead with 7 minutes left. The next Philly drive started with a 7 yard sack by Leonard Little but McNabb drove them down for a score with 3 minutes and change left (29-24 Rams). Having all their timeouts, they kicked deep and held the Rams to a 3 and out but Aeneas picked off McNabb at the Rams 34 to send them to SB36.

#6. Week 3, 2021. The 2-0 Dolphins, who would go on the finish 11-5 visit the 2-0 Rams. TGSOT was at the height of it's MaxQ self. But Sam Madison and Patrick Surtain were confident CBs. One of them (Madison IIRC) said, "greatest show on turf....really? Well they play indoors so when we get there just lock the doors and we'll see what happens". Well what happened is Warner carved them up, early and often. 24 of 31 for 328 yards, 4 TDs. Warner hit Proehl for a TD, 6 minutes into the game and the Dolphins answered with a TD pass, Fiedler to McKnight. With the score tied at 7, Miami got to the Rams 6 but London Fletcher sacked Fiedler, who fumbled and Dexter McCleon recovered at the Rams 30. The Rams drove down, scoring on a Warner to Faulk TD. Miami kicked a FG but the backbreaker to this ass whippin came on the ensuing drive at the end of the first half. The Rams took the kickoff and drove down into the red zone. Marshall was stopped 1 yard short of the end zone from the 7 and Martz decided to go for the TD instead of a FG on 4th and goal from the 1. Faulk hit Marshall out of the backfield for the TD and it was all downhill for Miami after that. The highlight of the 2nd half (17 points) was Warner hitting Big Game with a 45 yard TD inches over the DBs hands, making it 35-10. I'll bet about that time Madison was hoping the doors weren't locked. Trung Canidate ran 9 yards for the final TD. 42-10 Rams.

#5. Week 11, 2018. MNF Kansas City at the Rams. A game that was supposed to be played in Mexico City gets moved to SoCal in the midst of the wildfires. No offense to those who lost their worldly possessions or more devastating, their lives, but the Rams and Jared Goff were on fire in this game. You all know what happened. Goff looked like the best version of Kurt Warner and Matt Stafford combined and we saw the highest scoring game in MNF history. Against the best QB in the NFL (now). What a game for the ages.

#4. Week 15, 2017. The 9-4 Rams visit the 8-5 Seahawks with the division hanging in the balance. After 2 Greg Z field goals in the first quarter, the Rams took over. Pharoh Cooper returned a punt 53 yards to the Seattle 1 and Gurley went in for a TD. Two failed Seahawk possessions later, Cooper takes another punt 26 yards to the Seattle 36 and the Rams drive in another TD by Gurley. Two plays into the next possession, Robert Quinn strip-sacks Wilson (sacked 7 times on the day) and Morgan Fox recovers at the Seattle 39. Goff hits Woods for another TD. During the next possession, Wilson looks stunned and while trying to avoid a 16 yard Donald sack, throws the ball backwards another 7 yards out of bounds for a 23 yard loss. On third and 25 Wilson gets penalized for illegal forward pass and Cooper returns a punt 26 yards again. On third and 20, Gurley takes it 57 yards to the house and the lead is 34-0 at the half. The rest is a blur as the euphoria had taken over but I do know we were soon up 40-0. Gotta be the most devastating loss at home for Seattle. And after their first score of the day (with 1:23 left in the 3rd) just for shits and giggles, Wilson gets flagged for intentional grounding in the end zone and it's 42-7. If not for the SF 1999 game, this would be my #3.

#3. Week 5, 1999. The 3-1 niners, winners of 17 straight vs the Rams, visit the 3-0 Rams in St. Louis. Ike catches 3 of his 4 TD receptions in the first half and the Rams take a 28-17 halftime lead. Marred only by a strip sack of Warner by Junior Bryant for a TD just before halftime, it was a dominant performance. And just when the niners closed it to 28-20 with a FG, Tony Horne took the ensuing kickoff 97 yards to the house to put the Rams up 15. SF never scored again and Ike caught the 4th of his TD passes on the next drive to go up 42-20. Warner ended the game 20 of 23 for 323 yards (14.0 yds/att) with 5 TDs and Ike had 5 catches (4 TDs) for 134 yards.

#2. Superbowl 34. Come on. After all those years of hanging onto a 31-19 loss to the Steelers as the pinnacle for the Rams, that game made the wait worthwhile. Only 1 game can trump this one.

#1. Superbowl 56. A great game and despite getting out to a 14-3 lead a great comeback. It's not often that a dominant team has to come back but we did. Dominated early and came back late. As satisfying a win as I've ever seen. No game can trump this one.

2024 MLS Season

Interesting moment in time for MLS with Messi and company in Miami and the league possibly opening up some purse strings after this season. I don't think they're gonna go full Saudi League and try to buy anyone and everyone, but I do think MLS is going to rise in coming years. Which, granted, isn't exactly saying much lol. But they're gonna tap South America hard I think and maybe start unearthing more US players for the future.

Hoping this is a good season for Sporting. Those bastards woke up late last year and gave me a nice playoff run, albeit short. But looks like a fantastic rivalry is instantly in place with STL and KC given the way they knocked STL out of the playoffs. Probably gonna catch a match in STL this year if I can't make it to KC which is a further drive for me.

Tomorrow has some good games on tap. LAFC vs Seattle should be fun. :part:

What's the edge case for the cap going up like it has?

Cap exploded about 10 mil more than what teams were expecting today.

Of course, all teams get the same additional cap so at first glance, it doesn't really seem like that shifts anyone's strategy much in FA... or does it?

Where's the edge here? Is it in players we currently have like Boom who might get cut otherwise? Is it in FA, but going after a top prospect? Is there no edge to be had at all when all teams have the same larger than expected cap increase.

Who's a quant, who wants to do this shit?

OldSchool mock 2.0

So I have this sneaky suspicion McVay is going to spend a top pick, IE our 1st or 2nd round pick, on a WR. Kupp we have seen has had injury problems throughout his career. He's great when he's 100% and he and Stafford have an undeniable connection. But he's also soon to be 31 and it isn't unheard of for those kind of injuries to keep happening and show an early end to a career. Add to that we all know or feel Stafford has another year or two left in him so McVay will want to get the most out of that window. This is a mock with that in mind not necessarily what I want to happen. Also all my mocks the bottom end of it will mostly be directed at special teams. Also this mock will have to have some restructures to facilitate some of these signings.

Resignings:
Alaric Jackson
Coleman Shelton
Demarcus Robinson
Carson Wentz
Jordan Fuller
Royce Freeman
John Johnson III
Brycen Hopkins (insurance until Higbee comes back only)

Free agency:

Danielle Hunter Edge I've said before I'm not a fan of him don't like his effort or ability in run defense and think as much as he helps with pass rush he's a liability in the run game. Spotrac estimates a $20m aav so fit that in, it also can be a lesser hit year one and a bigger hit year 3 when Stafford and Donald and Kupp are off the books.

Noah Fant TE This might be a signing in all my mocks. It makes a ton of sense.

Kendall Fuller CB A CB1 signed in free agency after an Edge signed in free agency.

Draft:

Round 1 pick 19: Brian Thomas Jr WR LSU 6'4" 205 lbs with good explosiveness, I've seen it described as a violent change of direction, and short area acceleration. Good route runner, good size, good red zone target and very good at tracking the ball on deep throws. This guy added to Kupp, Nacua, Fant, Higbee(when he comes back), Allen and the RB room will make this offense deadly. I don't think McVay can pass up a guy like this. Some will say we could trade back and get him in another 5 picks or so but not messing with it and grabbing him now. Oh and the 2nd play in this highlight clip? Yeah that's a jet sweep that'll have McVay salivating :D

Trade pick 2-51 and 6-217 to Tampa Bay for 2-57 4-126 and 6-203 (for the trade chart junkies it's 384.6 going out 386.2 coming in)

Round 2 pick 57 : Connor Beebe OG Kansas State As you may have noticed no Dotson resigning. With the CB and Edge signed I'm thinking another $15+ million for a Guard might not be in the books. So we go and get one of if not the best pure OG in the draft. Beebe is a straight monster, reminds a lot of people of Avilla. He's 6'4" 335 lbs and just straight mean. Strong and when he sets his anchor it's damned near impossible to move him. You put him on the other side of Shelton and Avilla and we have an impressive IOL that other teams will envy.

Clip vs Texas which has very good IDL

Round 3 pick 83: Spencer Rattler QB South Carolina Draft a kid to work a year or two behind Stafford and Wentz. There's a lot to like about his game, there's also stuff to work on. One of the biggest things to me is he's experienced, I see way too many of the QB's that don't make it were one or maybe two year starters. This kid has been around, a four year starter think I saw something saying over 1300 snaps in 4 years. Good arm strength, good release, spreads the ball around and can make all the throws. Mobile but not really a running QB. Knocks on him are his size, which isn't bad at 6'1" and I've seen 215-220 lbs so he's not a big stature QB.

Round 3 pick 100: Mason Smith NT LSU A big man in the middle! He's 6'6" 318 lbs. A disrupter along the DL to help both in run defense and the pass rush. Every video I saw of him showed the same thing, he was double teamed A LOT, which he won't likely see much of in the NFL with Turner and AD out there too along with Young and Hunter.

Round 4 pick 126: Cedric Gray LB North Carolina A repeat pick from mock 1.0. Upgrades the run defense a lot and is good in coverage. A guy that also could help ST.

Round 5 pick 153: Braelon Allen RB Wisconsin I've seen him projected anywhere from mid 2nd to mid 6th round. A 5th round pick to a lot of people seems right for Allen. Allen is way too big of a man at 6'2" 245 lbs to be running a 4.4 40 yard dash but he does it. The speed is there in the game tape. Guy is just a play maker when running the ball. What drops him to the 5th is he's not much of a route runner/pass catcher. He'll catch your screens and drop offs but won't be a guy we swing out wide often for miss matches. Also he's not the best pass blocker, putting it mildly. He'll have to work on this, ironically had a similar grade on this as Kyren. Biggest thing for me is he's a back that can run a lot like Kyren but has that extra gear to create separation coming out of a hole and can break off a run. His longest runs each of his 3 years at Wisconsin were 71 yards in 2021 96 yards in 2022 and only 53 yards last year. He's a potential game changer.

Roudn 5 pick 154: Nelson Ceaser Edge Houston Good hands, dip and bend. Good size and speed on the Edge as well. But will need some time in the weight room to take his game up a notch. Until then is depth at edge and a contributor on coverage teams. Think he led the conference in sacks always a plus.

Round 5 pick 177: Evan Williams Oregon An all around safety, good ball skills for a center fielder and can tackle but isn't the best in the box safety which is fine we have a couple of those. Comes in as depth and again ST coverage unit.

Round 6 pick 191: Andrew Raym C Oklahoma We let Allen go we need a backup Center. Could one day take over for Shelton but comes in now as depth. And hey drafting a center from here may help people get over a certain Center we didn't draft, just a little :D

Round 6 pick 203: Chau Smith-Wade CB Washington St This is my Senior Bowl player pick. Had a good week there, not a Mitchell type week, but was all around good. Not a big guy but is good tracking the ball. Also a guy that's depth and a coverage team contributor day 1.

Round 6 pick 212: Jared Wiley TE TCU A big man at 6'6" 253 lbs. Came into the passing game much more this past year with 47 receptions 520 yards and 8 TD. Good hands good size but not the fasted TE in the world and only an above average blocker. Not counting on offensive production but can develop and can again contribute on coverage teams.

Round 6 pick 218: Aaron Casey ILB Indiana Think I took this same guy in this same spot in 1.0 Want a different guy JD Bertrand, Omar Speights or Ty'Ron Harper
work just as well. Depth ILB and help on coverage teams.

Round 7 pick 237: Joshua Carty K Stanford. Yes it's a need but they still aren't people. Didn't sign a free agent so went with one of the obvious options.

I'll give just one priority UDFA for you as well. Lets go with M.J. Devonshire CB Pitt. He's a good sized CB

I think we may all be disappointed with the 1st round and McVay can't pass up a weapon. But he and Fant and Beebe along with Allen as a 2 headed monster with Kyren without question make this offense much better. We also add a vet CB and Edge along with help in the middle of the front 7. And biggest is we get a punt returner

Logan Bruss

The guy has been universally condemned by this board for his play as a rookie. But I think a lot of people missed something about the guy. He only started 425 snaps at RG in 2020 as a COVID replacement in a chaotic season. Prior to and after that he was strictly a RT. So he has been resigned. The Rams have had a dubious record of converting OTs to OGs. So the question that was raised in my mind is whether or not Bruss is going to be played at RT. IMO Arcuri has been a bust thus far. His one opportunity to play in a regular game he was replaced before the snap by an injured Joe Noteboom. That said a lot to me.

Bringing Bruss back also says a lot to me about what they think of the guy. Will they play him at his natural position of RT? Before the draft, his evals were good showing decent technique and feet. As with most collegiate OL he needed to strengthen and polish is technique and was viewed by many as best to sit his rookie year and develop. It will be interesting where they play him in OTAs and if he makes it into TC. Logan showed talent in college, so I'm wondering if it was a matter of a rookie being expected to play a position in which he had only limited experience. People need to understand that the techniques used by OTs and OGs are different. The most difficult aspect of making the transition to OG for an OT is learning to play low with leverage. That was exactly his undoing when he started.

I think it would be interesting to see if they continue to try him as an OG and not as an OT. This is why I will not automatically dismiss Logan's chances. If he's coming in as a RT that IMO changes everything for him.

OFFICIAL 2024 NFL Arrests/Lawsuits/Legal Stuff

Quick recap of 2023, looking back at the thread there actually wasn't a whole lot going on which is nice for a change. A few dumbasses but nothing egregious. The person with the most legal drama was probably Antonio Brown.

Speaking of.... ON TO 2024 with this threads historical MVP!!!! I think this is a joke... I think...

A truly bizarre stat

The record for all-time receiving yards after the age of 40.

Two guys on the list.

1st is Jerry Rice, with 2,169 yards.

In second place is..... wanna guess?

Tom Brady, with 6 yards.

Puke-worthy as a Rams fan, I know! But bizarre and interesting.
