With pick #89 in the NFL draft the Rams select Joseph Noteboom OT

Noteboom was a lean and athletic honorable mention all-state pick from Plano, Texas before signing on with the Horned Frogs. The three-time All-Academic Big 12 pick has not missed a game since redshirting the 2013 season. He played as a reserve in 2014, then took over the right tackle spot for all 13 games as a sophomore. Noteboom moved to the blind side for 2016, starting every game and showing agility in pass protection that NFL scouts admire at the position despite growing into his frame. Big 12 coaches voted him honorable mention all-conference as a senior, as he started all 14 games at the left tackle spot.

Draft Projection
Round 2-3
Overview
Noteboom flashes the technique, hand usage, and athleticism you want out of the position but he doesn't do those things with enough consistency. His inability to gain and secure positioning as a move blocker is a concern as is his consistency as a finisher in running game. Noteboom was one of the tackles who flashed at the Senior Bowl in one-on-one drills and had a great workout at the Combine. The tape says day three, but his work during the "draft season" should get him drafted on the second day with a chance to become an early NFL starter.
Strengths
  • Has an NFL frame with room to pile on more muscle
  • Has adequate dip and scoop hip flexion to create leverage as a drive blocker
  • Does a good job of working hip-to-hip on double-team blocks
  • Hand strength is solid
  • Can latch onto defender's jersey with his hands to help him ride out the block
  • Runs feet under initial contact for improved sustain as run blocker
  • Comfortable quick-setting on top of edge rushers
  • Shows ability to hasten pass slide rather than using cross-over footwork to catch rushers at the top of the arc
  • Can pass set with good posture when he wants to
  • Good athlete in space
  • Leads the charge when asked to pull and is comfortable handling screen blocking duties
Weaknesses
  • Prolonged tape work offers plenty of inconsistencies in performance
  • Technique slips when matched against power
  • Will lean and engulf with wide hands in pass pro
  • Rushers who ramp up speed-to-power are a problem for him
  • Wide hands open his frame to stab moves that walk him into quarterback's face
  • Fails to gain early ground in kick-slides
  • Opens outside hip early in pass sets giving rushers a much softer edge to attack
  • Needs to play with faster hands and a more efficient punch
  • Takes inefficient paths to easy wall-off blocks allowing defensive ends to slide inside his block
  • Inconsistent getting to his lateral blocks

"I was disappointed when I finally sat down and studied him. I couldn't find that one thing that I really loved about him and he looked a lot smaller than his listed weight when I watched the tape. I think he has a lot of work to do." - NFL offensive line consultant

TE Antonio Gates is looking for a team to sign him

Antonio Gates wants to keep playing, but Chargers won’t bring him back

Tight end Antonio Gates isn’t ready to call it quits. The question is: Will anyone give him a chance to keep playing?

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Chargers have informed Gates they will not bring him back for 2018.

Gates turns 38 in June and played less than 50 percent of the team’s offensive snaps last season. He took a backseat to Hunter Henry, playing 500 snaps to Henry’s 598, and the Chargers added Virgil Green in free agency.

Gates’ 30 catches and three touchdowns were his fewest since 2003 when he made 24 catches and two touchdowns as a rookie. His 316 yards in 2017 were the fewest in his career.

Gates made eight consecutive Pro Bowls as one of the league’s best tight ends from 2004-11. But he has not played at that level since 2011.

Whenever he decides to call it quits, Gates will rank among the all-time leaders at the position.

Might want to keep this in the back of our minds for the rest of the draft

Rams do have needs for some specialized 34 defensive players. Edge Rushers OLB/ Inside Lb'ers & Nose Tackles. Here's a list of the 11 teams who run 34 defenses in 2018. Many of the 11 above teams do have some of the same needs as the Rams do.

NY Jets- Edge Rushers
Cinn - NT & ILB'ers
Washington- NT/ ILB
Green Bay-Edge Rushers
Chicago- ER/ ILB/ NT
KC -NT/ ILB'er
Pittsburgh
Houston
TN
Denver
Baltimore

The Bengals/Jets & Chiefs will select before the Rams first selection @ #87 tonight. In addition reference the 4th round first pick.... we will see the Packers @ #101, Bears #105, Jets #107 & Skins #109 all have selections before the Rams@ #111. Snead is surly aware of this & this might be the critical times where we see a possible trade up in front of these mentioned teams.

Josh Rosen is a dbag

I just read his comments and saw a brief interview.

Fuck him.

What an arrogant clod. He even looks like a bust waiting to happen.

I can't root for a guy like this, plus he's in the division, so he has to flame out for me to be happy.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2018/s...h-pick-says-there-were-nine-mistakes-ahead-me

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The longer Josh Rosen waited in the green room inside AT&T Stadium, the more mad -- and more motivated -- he became.

After being selected by the Arizona Cardinals with the 10th overall pick Thursday night in the NFL draft, Rosen told reporters that he was "pissed" and "really angry" he fell outside the top three.

"There were nine mistakes ahead of me," Rosen said.

But when the Cardinals finally selected him after trading three picks this year to the Oakland Raiders to move up and snag the former UCLA quarterback, Rosen was relieved and inspired yet still unhappy all at once.

"I thought I should've been picked at 1, 2 or 3," Rosen said. "I dropped, and I was pissed. I was really, really angry. I wasn't really showing it. I was trying to keep calm, cool, composed. But I thought I was going to get picked, and I thought I was going to have to put on a face and try and fake happiness. But for some reason, right when I got that call, that's not what happened. I got really happy and really motivated.

"All I wanted to do was basically get on a plane right then and go straight to Arizona and start working. It was definitely a surprise when I got that phone call in terms of the emotions I was feeling. But I think everything happens for a reason."

Rosen found a home he seems happy with, and the Cardinals drafted their quarterback of the future. Rosen's selection marked the first time four quarterbacks were taken in the top 10 in the common draft era.

General manager Steve Keim said he did "quite a bit of work" on Rosen, who said his visit with the Cardinals was "just like any other visit." He didn't leave Arizona feeling like the Cardinals would certainly draft him, but he didn't leave sensing they would pass if given the opportunity.

Top 30 visits

On the eve of the draft, Top 30 visits are always a good indicator of who or what type of player the Rams draft. Jim Thomas used to compile all 30, but now we have to make our own compilation based on a hodgepodge of twitter users. I've managed to compile 26-28 of the 30. Comment if you know who I've missed or if I made a mistake.

Overall impression? Heavy Senior Bowl influence, so it looks like the Rams will drink heavily from the Senior Bowl well for the second year in a row. Interesting how many shapes, sizes, and skillsets the Rams are looking at on the edge. Covering all their bases making sure it hard for other teams to determine who the Rams like the most. Also, interesting how the OL list is almost exclusively college LTs who project as NFL guards. Speaks to the state of the tackle class, but also Sneed's belief that if you draft a starting tackle you most likely draft that guy early. At LB there is a mix of thumpers and cover guys which makes me think they may mix and match there. IMO Rams will draft an RB earlier than many think, giving the Rams a dynamic satellite back to compliment Gurley.

I think the Bills are going to make a HUGE move up tonight

Here's what I see as being this years big blockbuster trade.

The Bills need a QB of the future and they know Brady is not long for the game. They are the better team if they have a franchise or really, really good QB and the Patriots are without Brady. Maybe two years from now Brady hangs it up and the QB the Bills pick would be hitting stride. They could be on top of the AFCE quickly with a smart move to get a QB.

They have two picks in the 1st round, 12 and 22, and two in the 2nd round, 53 and 56.

If I am the CLE GM I am calling them and asking to put a deal together that includes those picks for my #4 overall.

That would give me the #1 overall, and 12, 22, 33, 35, 53, 56 and 64.

So the top QB in the draft, and SEVEN more picks in the first two rounds.

I don't know how that stacks up on the draft value chart, which is really just a guideline these days. But even if the Browns had to give up #33 it's a win for both teams. Someone will have to check that, I have to run out for awhile.

I can't see CLE not talking to BUF and they probably already have. It's a perfect trade partner and would give the Browns a large makeover in one draft.

And guess what. They have 5 picks in the first two rounds of the 2019 draft right now. If they get this type of deal done and hit on the QB selection and then just do an average job with the other picks over this draft and the next draft............lookout AFCN.

The Factory of Sadness could turn into The Factory of Gladness.

Martavis Bryant wants to find a team that will use him more, which is why he asked for a trade before the deadline last season. The Steelers now appear open to a trade for the wide receiver at the right price, with Dan Graziano of ESPN reporting that the team has been “quietly listening to offers.”

The Steelers obviously would like to avoid sending him to Baltimore or New England, two teams that could use another talented receiver.

Bryant is in the final year of his contract and scheduled to make a team-friendly $1.91 million this season.

He played the third-most offensive snaps of the team’s wide receivers last season but wants more chances than the 84 targets he had last season, even though that ranked third on the team behind only running back Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown. Both Bell and Brown earned All-Pro honors.

Bryant made 50 catches, fourth on the team, for 603 yards and three touchdowns last season after missing the 2016 season.

It will take an enticing offer for the Steelers, a Super Bowl-contending team, to part ways with Bryant.

In a move that could precipitate an increased NFL presence in London, Jaguars owner Shad Khan is reportedly in talks to buy Wembley Stadium, England’s preeminent “football” field.

The Evening Standard reports that Khan has agreed to pay more than 500 million pounds ($700 million) for Wembley Stadium, which is known as the home of English soccer and has also hosted several NFL games.

The report indicates that Khan’s ownership would result in more American football games being played at Wembley, and possibly even an NFL franchise in London. Khan has repeatedly shot down talk that he wants to move the Jaguars to London, but talk persists that an NFL team could eventually be located there.

The NFL has also invested in the new stadium for English soccer team Tottenham Hotspur, with the league paying to have that stadium built with features including the larger locker rooms required for NFL teams, and a retractable playing surface that allows games to be played either on grass for soccer or field turf for football.

So it’s possible that there could soon be two iconic soccer stadiums in London with strong NFL ties, one which was built with NFL games in mind, and another that is owned by an NFL owner. The league is pouring serious resources into London.

Shad Khan: I’m buying Wembley to keep the Jaguars stable in both London and Jacksonville
Posted by Michael David Smith on April 26, 2018

Jaguars owner Shad Khan has confirmed he is buying Wembley Stadium, England’s premier soccer field and the home of many NFL international games. But he’s positioning the move not as an attempt to take the Jaguars to London, but as an attempt to strengthen the franchise.

“The Jaguars have played regular season home games at Wembley Stadium in each of the past five NFL seasons and will continue to do so at least through the 2020 season,” Khan said in a statement. “The games the Jaguars play at Wembley are essential to the financial stability of the Jaguars in Jacksonville, which is one of the smallest markets in the NFL.

If my ownership interests were to include Wembley Stadium, it would protect the Jaguars’ position in London at a time when other NFL teams are understandably becoming more interested in this great city. And the stronger the Jaguars are in London, the more stable and promising the Jaguars’ future will be in Jacksonville.”

Realistically, however, if Khan finds that playing games in London is more profitable than playing games in Jacksonville, how long will he play just one game a year in London? How soon until it’s two home games in London? Or four? Or all eight?

Those are concerns that some Jacksonville fans will have no matter how much Khan insists he’s dedicated to remaining in the city. Khan is making a big investment in London, which will remain the Jaguars’ second home. And may some day become the Jaguars’ first home.

Anyone see the ending of the Cavs v. Pacers?

What an ending!

LeBron is really making a case for himself as the greatest basketball player ever.

I know everyone likes to point to Jordan because he has six rings and is undefeated in the Finals but IMO that doesn't belong in the same discussion or everyone would say Bill Russell is the greatest ever.

This is his 15th season and it is like he's still 28 years old.

He's in the discussion and it's not hard to make the case that he might be the best to ever play. And he will probably play a handful more seasons.

He has a shot, and this is no joke, to pass Jabbar as the all time leading scorer and will almost certainly be in the top 3 in assists. Worst case he will be 4th all time.

As far as rebounds he will probably land in the top 50.

Mix that in with all of the other remarkable things he has done and it's a worthy discussion.

The NFL draft is fast approaching, it's been a fun, long and extremely grinding year. I was lucky to travel and cover my first live sporting event when I went to Mobile, Alabama for the Reeses's Senior Bowl. I've learned a ton throughout this pre-draft process. Last year, I made a full seven-round mock draft and I am going to continue that trend into 2018. So without further ado, here it is, the 2018 NFL Mock Draft that will cover all 256 picks of this year's draft. Enjoy!

FIRST ROUND

1.Cleveland Browns: Sam Darnold, QB, USC

My last full NFL Mock Draft was in January and no, my mind has not changed about the first-overall selection. Many will say Josh Allen is the pick here, some will whisper Baker Mayfield and even Josh Rosen, but make no mistake it is Sam Darnold. Darnold is my 11th overall player and my second overall QB in this draft. It makes sense for the Browns to take the guy with the most upside, legitimate competition against the Pac-12, mobility, football IQ, arm talent and improvisational skills. Darnold is a special talent and at the end of the day he will have the very lofty expectations of doing what 20-plus other QB's have not been able to do. Take Cleveland out of the abyss and make them a winner. As we all know Cleveland did trade for QB Tyrod Taylor and I expect he will start this season so Darnold will likely be "red-shirted" and start next season.

2.New York Giants: Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA

The Giants do not pick down in the beginning of the draft very often which is why I believe Josh Rosen will be the pick. I have him a spot below Darnold on my big board and I would imagine that's where many teams in the league have him, while some have him a spot above. Rosen is the most NFL-ready QB in this draft so while it may not make sense to have him sit behind Eli Manning (and personally I think they should have moved on from Eli already) you can't just pass up on an elite level QB prospect because he is ready for the NFL and you might have to sit him for a season because of who you have ahead of him. Rosen, when he starts would have Odell Beckham Jr, Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram to throw to. Now, all that needs to happen is for the Giants to keep building that offensive line for Rosen.

3.New York Jets via Indianapolis Colts: Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma

Quarterbacks will dominate the beginning of the draft and there is a reason. This QB class is really good at the top. The Jets did move from 6th overall to 3rd overall and I believe it's to jump ahead of the Denver Broncos who I heard were all over Baker Mayfield through a couple of their scouts at the Senior Bowl. It's not hard to see why, Mayfield can do it all and has had a prolific college career. Size doesn't really matter to me because when I watch the film I know what I'm going to get with Mayfield. The Jets are looking for their franchise QB and Baker will be that superstar figure in New York that the team needs. Last year, the Jets had a chance to win eight games even after everyone picked them to finish last in the league. Josh McCown and the help of that defense really made the Jets competitive but McCown is just a glue-guy, a veteran and a mentor at this point. The Jets know they want to grab their young gun and move on with the future and that future is Baker Mayfield.

4.Cleveland Browns via Houston Texans: Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State

The Texans will watch as the Browns pick again for the second time in the top five after sending away this pick as part of the trade for Deshaun Watson. The Browns could go multiple directions here but here's the thing, we know they have a good defense that just got better with the addition of Damarious Randall and while Bradley Chubb next to Myles Garrett sounds terrifying, the Browns would be best to go with the best player on my board overall and that is Saquon Barkley. First Darnold, now Saquon, both were heroes in the epic 2017 Rose Bowl game and both will be long-term heroes for a team that is just trying to escape the gallows. The Browns traded for Jarvis Landry, they have Josh Gordon, Corey Coleman, David Njoku and now they can continue to build an offense for Hue Jackson with a pick of elite RB prospect Barkley. Barkley is a do-it-all generational back that will have an impact similar to what Todd Gurley does for the Rams, Le'Veon Bell does for the Steelers and what David Johnson does for the Cardinals.

5.Buffalo Bills via Denver Broncos: Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming

The Bills traded Tyrod Taylor to the Browns as previously mentioned after clearly not wanting him during that entire 2017 season in which he helped lead them to their first playoff-berth in 17 years. The Bills have Nathan Peterman who they will not flirt with as a long-term option after his horrific four-interception start against the Los Angeles Chargers last year. Josh Allen is someone I find to be a late third-round talent with enormous upside but many NFL clubs believe he's going to be a top 10 pick. The Broncos I am willing to bet do not like him as much as others so they will trade this pick away and allow the Bills to get their franchise QB. It's an ideal scenario because the team signed A.J. McCarron for two years and so Allen, who is nowhere near ready to handle the pressure of starting in the NFL can sit behind McCarron for a year or two.

6.Indianapolis Colts via New York Jets: Tremaine Edmunds, ILB, Virginia Tech

This is a tough one for the Colts who have Bradley Chubb fall right into their lap. Chubb is great and is by far the best EDGE defender in the class but I believe the Colts might look at this seeing as they have a ton of holes to fill and filling your inside linebacker over a defensive end might be more beneficial. Tremaine Edmunds is just 19 years old so this might seem like an opportunity you just can't pass up. I could see the Colts trading out of this spot like they reportedly want to do but it's too tough to see them trading down and giving up on the chance to draft either of the two top inside linebackers.

7.Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Bradley Chubb, EDGE, N.C. State

Chubb falls in a draft he might be a top three player in due to the fact that four QB's go in the top five. Chubb is a plug-in-play type of player that will be an enormous help for the Buccaneers defense. The team added both Jason Pierre-Paul and Vinny Curry but Chubb is going to be way too talented to not select. Tampa Bay could very well go Quenton Nelson here but at least as I see it I think the premium should be put of rushing the passer and helping out the secondary this season, Chubb will do just that.

8.Chicago Bears: Quenton Nelson, G, Notre Dame

I would probably call Quenton Nelson the safest pick in the draft but when you already have your franchise QB, you can definitely grab a plug-in-play All-Pro caliber player in Nelson. Nelson will fall here because once again QB's went early but also, Nelson plays a lesser valued position and so he will go lower than he should. Nelson is one of the easiest evaluations I have ever done on a player and the Bears will love sticking him right in their offensive line with Kyle Long.

9.San Francisco 49ers: Roquan Smith, ILB, Georgia

This was my pick for the Niners back in January but ever since we have seen former first-round pick Rueben Foster quite possibly throw his career away after being arrested on domestic violence and threat charges. Smith plays that same type of style and I liked him next to Foster before but now Smith actually becomes a necessity. I believe the 49ers will end up making Smith their pick and try and stop the bleeding from this horrific situation with Foster.

10.Oakland Raiders: Marcus Davenport, EDGE, UTSA

The Raiders like him and it's hard not to. Marcus Davenport has ascended as a small-school stud and will go top 10 in this draft. Davenport would be an upgrade over Mario Edwards on the edge and would make a great pass rushing duo with Khalil Mack for likely the next half decade and beyond. While Davenport is still raw, he can play day one and even if the team disagree's Edwards is definitely capable of holding the load until Davenport is ready. Bottom line is with the immense upside of Davenport and the need for the Raiders to install a ferocious defense this pick makes a lot of sense. This could also be Denzel Ward if not Davenport but I imagine Davenport will be the pick.

11.Miami Dolphins: Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville

My top QB in this draft and perhaps the most any scout is split on. People love or hate Jackson and I am in the group that loves him. Miami had the unfortunate ACL tear of QB Ryan Tannehill last year before the season in which they dug into their pockets and paid Jay Cutler to come out of a short retirement. Cutler wasn't amazing by any means and there are questions to be answered about Tannehill coming off his injury. I think Miami, having an offensive mind like Adam Gase as their Head coach will finally opt to get "his" QB and that will be Lamar Jackson. Jackson, has the ability to win in the pocket or outside of the pocket and if he had to, he would be able to start for the Dolphins. I think Miami might be trying to get another year out of Tannehill before they try to trade him. Jackson would bring excitement and explosive face of the franchise to the team. In a division that will now have Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield and Tom Brady, Miami will bite the bullet and take Jackson.

12.Denver Broncos via Buffalo Bills: Denzel Ward, CB, Ohio State

Denzel Ward is a very talented CB that should probably go top 10 in a normal draft but this draft is far from normal. With a RB and five QB's coming off the board in the top 11 picks, the Broncos take the best player available on their board and that is Ward. The team shipped Aqib Talib off to the Rams to shed $11 million in cap space and get younger at the position. It's now Chris Harris Jr. and Bradley Roby and the Broncos now add Ward to pick up right where they left off and strengthen the secondary. Ward graded out as my second corner and would be a huge fit for Joe Woods' defense.

13.Washington Redskins: Minkah Fitzpatrick, S, Alabama

Minkah is a phenomenal talent and once again due to the craziness of the beginning of the draft players like him will fall down the board. The two starters for the Redskins at safety are Seshazor Everett and D.J. Swearinger. I, myself, really like Fish Smithson and Montae Nicholson but the team clearly needs one more guy at the position and Fitzpatrick would be a great fit. You could see the Redskins reunite Da'Ron Payne with Jonathan Allen here but since Minkah is falling here he will be the pick.

14.Green Bay Packers: Derwin James, S, Florida State

The Packers reportedly like Derwin James a lot and he's likely going to be their pick. With the Packers quietly building a very rock solid defense the team does not have many needs aside from CB. James will fill that need as Mike Pettine sees him as a safety/cornerback hybrid likely to start and create a nice young corner duo with Kevin King. Pettine will now have Muhammad Wilkerson, Kenny Clark, Mike Daniels, Clay Matthews, Jake Ryan, Blake Martinez, Nick Perry, Derwin James, Kevin King, HaHa Clinton-Dix and Josh Jones to work with.

15.Arizona Cardinals: Joshua Jackson, CB, Iowa

Back in January I had Lamar Jackson going to Arizona but now I think the Cardinals might need to look at QB later in the second or third round of this draft. The team let go of Tyrann Mathieu and will need replace him to give Budda Baker someone to play next to as well as a running mate for Patrick Peterson. With Arizona switching defenses, the team can afford to draft guys to fit the new defense and make the transition a little more easier. Joshua Jackson brings the element of taking the ball away to the table. He and Peterson should be a nightmare to throw at.

16.Baltimore Ravens: Isaiah Wynn, OT/G, Georgia

This pick was easy for me not long ago when the Ravens had a need at receiver. I had them taking Courtland Sutton but now with the additions of Michael Crabtree, John Brown and Willie Snead that does not appear likely. This team has a lot of needs and picking a WR would be that of a luxury now. The Ravens take the versatile tackle/guard who started at Left tackle for the Georgia Bulldogs in the National Title game, Isaiah Wynn. Wynn is an incredible talent that is worthy of going earlier. With the Ravens in need of some help at guard and at Right tackle, this is a very logical pick. You can fix everything in the draft but it doesn't hurt to start from the inside out.

17.Los Angeles Chargers: Vita Vea, NT, Washington

The Chargers actually have a nice young team brewing, they appear to be set on the offensive line assuming Forrest Lamp recovers and remains healthy and on defense they are turning into a stout bunch coached by Gus Bradley. The Chargers could use more of a gap-eater, yes, Brandon Mebane is solid and does the job well but he is getting up there in age and the Chargers could use someone with the size and athleticism as Vita Vea. Vea is the old school trash bagger that will take on double or even triple teams. He will be vital for getting elite rushers Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram in one-on-one matchups as well as clogging running lanes. This team has opted not to choose a high-profile QB to develop behind Phil Rivers so they need to salvage something special before they lose the veteran franchise QB.

18.Carolina Panthers via Seattle Seahawks: D.J. Moore, WR, Maryland

I personally believe the Seahawks will trade down here no matter what. The team does not have a pick until 120th overall and the Panthers covet D.J. Moore who would have to get to them at 24th overall which is unlikely since his monster rise up boards in recent months. We see it all of the time, that one WR that gets his hype flowing and a team makes a big-time trade up to select him. Moore might not be anywhere who I would pick at 18 but this team clearly have done the research and love him. The Seahawks recoup a couple of picks (88th & 197th) and the Panthers get their guy for Cam Newton.

19.Dallas Cowboys: Rashaan Evans, ILB, Alabama

There were some red flags that came up with Rashaan Evans for teams about why he didn't run the 40-yard dash but now all of that will disregarded after Leighton Vander Esch's reported medical "flunk". The Cowboys are looking to upgrade their defensive line and linebackers. I feel as though Evans is a top notch inside linebacker and would be a nice fit next to Jaylon Smith and Sean Lee. Evans is a new age type of linebacker and while many think the Cowboys will select a WR here, I don't. Defense at this point is the most important thing for the Cowboys who just missed the playoffs last year following up a 13-3 season the year before.

20.Detroit Lions: Harold Landry, EDGE, Boston College

Perhaps one of the most refined pass rushers in this class falls down the board due to an injury. Landry has a plethora of rush moves and will be a perfect piece to go along with franchise tagged edge defender Ezekiel Ansah. New Head coach Matt Patricia will start the era in Detroit off right by taking a defensive player and make the first step towards transforming this defense into a furious unit.

21.Cincinnati Bengals via Buffalo Bills: James Daniels, C, Iowa

Daniels is not the most refined center but he is the most athletic in this class and the Bengals appear to like him a lot according to reports. Right now the Bengals have multiple holes but one of the most important positions is being played by TJ Johnson at the moment. Bengals have to upgrade and Daniels would certainly be that of an upgrade.

22.Denver Broncos via Buffalo Bills: Will Hernandez, G, UTEP

When I was in Mobile, I heard a couple of Broncos scouts saying things like "I would kill for that man" and "I will kill someone if we don't pick him". Now, I doubt they were serious but they all clearly liked some guy named Will Hernandez. Hernandez is one of the nastiest linemen in this draft and so I think the scouts will get their wish. With no QB worth the pick here after the trade down, the Broncos take the best available to add to what is starting to shape into a very solid offensive line.

23.New England Patriots via Los Angeles Rams: Connor Williams, OT, Texas

The Patriots lost Nate Solder their blindspot protector for Tom Brady this offseason after the New York Giants decided to make him the highest paid tackle in NFL history for some reason. The Patriots because of this are in the market for a tackle and Connor Williams fits the bill. I have a higher grade on Tyrell Crosby but many teams prefer Connor Williams. Originally it was reported the Patriots traded Brandin Cooks for the Rams first-rounder to acquire two picks and have the leverage to move up and take a QB. Well, like the Broncos last pick, the Patriots missed out on the top QB's so they will indeed wait until the next couple of rounds.

24.Seattle Seahawks via Carolina Panthers: Derrius Guice, RB, LSU

The Seahawks could go a multitude of different directions here, but I expect them to bite the bullet and get their running back. Derrius Guice runs similar to that of former Seattle star RB MarShawn Lynch and I think deep down the Seahawks know they want that production they can lean on again like they did with Lynch back in the glory days. The Seahawks still have plenty of holes to fill but they put that on hold after their trade down with the Panthers to recoup a third-rounder.

25.Tennessee Titans: Leighton Vander Esch, ILB, Boise State

The problem with the Titans here is that they only have one legitimate need after losing Avery Williamson to the Jets and that is the inside linebacker spot. Leighton Vander Esch could fall due to his neck issue but I think he is exactly the football player that new Head coach Mike Vrabel wants in the middle of his squad. This team just does not have many needs so taking LVE and locking up the inside for another five years seems like the best option.

26.Atlanta Falcons: Taven Bryan, DT, Florida

All I keep seeing is how the Atlanta Falcons have a really high grade on Taven Bryan and it looks like he's the only one they seem to care about. That to me, is either a blatantly stupid smokescreen or they actually just love the guy. I'll go with the latter. Putting Bryan next to Grady Jarrett would be a nightmare for offenses.

27.New Orleans Saints: Da'Ron Payne, DT, Alabama

There is bound to be a couple of surprising falls with the rising stock in this draft and one of those will end up being Da'Ron Payne. His hype was at an all-time high after showcasing himself in the National Championship game, now teams have been able sit and let everything marinate and the bottom line is sometimes guys do fall through the cracks. Payne falls right into New Orleans lap and replaces David Onyemata on the line which only makes the defensive line stronger adding Payne with Sheldon Rankins and Cameron Jordan.

28.Pittsburgh Steelers: Jessie Bates III, S, Wake Forest

The Steelers are in a tough spot, they know they need to be concerned about Ryan Shazier after the unfortunate neck injury he suffered, they know that Vince Williams and Jon Bostic aren't going to light the world on fire but they also aren't about to reach and select a late second or third round player because of position. The team just made the under the radar move of signing Morgan Burnett to pair with Sean Davis in the back end of the secondary, but Jessie Bates is a special talent and the Steelers often will use three safeties in their defensive sets. Bates might already be the best safety on the team when he joins Pittsburgh.

29.Jacksonville Jaguars: Hayden Hurst, TE, South Carolina

This team just finally cut Marcedes Lewis after signing him to another extension. Wow. I was a little shocked but they are going to grab a weapon at TE that is hopefully way more productive than that signing of Julius Thomas a few years ago that busted miserably. The Jaguars love Hayden Hurst, I have two TE's graded ahead of him but Jacksonville is all over Hurst. Unless make a leap of faith up the board and claim Lamar Jackson, I think they are taking Hurst. Even with the intriguing addition of Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Hurst is likely the pick.

30.Minnesota Vikings: Isaiah Oliver, CB, Colorado

Everyone talks about how awesome the Vikings defense and while that might be true, they still have room to improve. I'm sorry but Trae Waynes is not an amazing option at cornerback next to the amazing Xavier Rhodes and while Mackensie Alexander offers intriguing upside as a former early day two pick, I lean towards the NFL-ready future start Isaiah Oliver.

31.New England Patriots: Justin Reid, S, Stanford

With the Patriots second pick in the first round they might look to trade down but ultimately end up taking a talented, versatile and intelligent player (sounds like someone Belichick will be all over) in Justin Reid. The Patriots are going to need to get younger at the position with both Devin McCourty and Patrick Chung now in their 30's. Reid is disciplined, athletic and for a team that often uses three safeties, he would be a perfect fit.

32.Arizona Cardinals via Philadelphia Eagles: Mason Rudolph, QB, Oklahoma State

Alas, the defending Super Bowl champions are on the clock...well not so fast. The Eagles do not have another pick until 130th overall, so they will likely definitely trade this pick away to acquire more. The Cardinals signed Sam Bradford but they don't really have a future direction and that is where the love for Mason Rudolph comes in. Arizona is in jeopardy of falling far behind the Rams and 49ers in the NFC West division "arms race". Both teams have franchise QB's and are building something special, the Cardinals just added Joshua Jackson and now their defense is really starting to take shape. The team reportedly really likes Rudolph but won't take him early first-round. So, they trade back into the first round and get their guy who will likely sit two years behind Bradford and now he will be eligible for the fifth-year option.

SECOND ROUND

33.Cleveland Browns: Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame

The rich get richer or rather hope to break even after losing Joe Thomas to retirement. The Browns have a very fun looking offensive line but could look to replace Shon Coleman. McGlinchey will be off the board for many people but I think there is a possibility he could fall into the second off of the sheer talent in this draft. The Browns could go multiple avenues here but McGlinchey is not a bad option as the Browns solidify the offensive line.

34.New York Giants: Jaire Alexander, CB, Louisville

For my money Jaire Alexander is the best CB in the draft and with him falling into the Giants lap at 34, he has to be the pick. The team added William Gay but that won't be enough to deter a team from taking a potentially elite shutdown cornerback. Eli Apple looks like a bust and Janoris Jenkins is going to need a running mate, funny enough, I compared Alexander to Janoris.

35.Cleveland Browns via Houston Texans: Mike Hughes, CB, UCF

Jamar Taylor is an underrated cornerback and I like Breian Boddy-Calhoun but the Browns could definitely benefit from getting a CB as aggressive as Hughes. Mike Hughes will also offer the ability to return kicks and punts, he's compact and he's a physical cornerback that would be huge in almost completing the Browns defensive starting lineup.

36.Indianapolis Colts: Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama

For many, Calvin Ridley will be the best WR on their board. This draft has so much talent and so I only have one receiver going in the first round. The Colts will be all over Ridley if he falls to the second round for them. Regardless of who is playing QB the team lost Donte Moncrief and even though they signed Ryan Grant, they could use more speed to go with T.Y. Hilton and that is something Ridley could bring to the table.

37.Indianapolis Colts via New York Jets: Maurice Hurst, DT, Michigan

There is no way a top 15 player should fall this far but with medical concerns and the whole "undersized" label. Be prepared for this random Mo Hurst fall. The Colts will be fine with it as they can start building up their defense.

38.Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Ronald Jones II, RB, USC

It's tough here for the Buccaneers who have the opportunity to grab a guard and call it a day on the offensive line after a brilliant signing of C Ryan Jensen. Instead, the Bucs grab their running back who can be a bell-cow if you need him to, Ronald Jones II.

39.Chicago Bears: Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU

The Bears have been all over Sutton in the pre-draft process and I think someone that reminds me a lot of former Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery would be a monster on the outside with Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel in the slot. Look, I know the Bears have Kevin White and I like White, but can you really depend on him to stay healthy? No. Sutton is a better player day one. You pick Sutton.

40.Denver Broncos: Christian Kirk, WR, Texas A&M

Denver has two really good wideouts in Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas but not only are they getting older, there is not really anyone behind them. The team chose Carlos Henderson last year and he will likely be the next man up but Christian Kirk is a much better receiver than Henderson and would instantly step in and be a great slot receiver for Case Keenum.

41.Oakland Raiders: Carlton Davis, CB, Auburn

Daryl Worley and Rashaan Melvin were brought in to add to the Raiders secondary with Gareon Conley but I still think the Raiders can do more to upgrade their roster. Worley, was after all, arrested. Insert Carlton Davis, physical and has a great frame to play on the outside and start early on in his career.

42.Miami Dolphins: Braden Smith, G, Auburn

Jesse Davis is playing RG right now as it stands for the Dolphins who will need to upgrade. I don't love Daniel Kilgore either at center but apparently Miami doesn't find it necessary to draft a center as they have barely met with any of them. Braden Smith was a monster for the Tigers and will bring a vicious edge to the line that just brought Josh Sitton over from Chicago.

43.New England Patriots via San Francisco 49ers: Dallas Goedert, TE South Dakota State

The pick that will get people in a tizzy, this is the pick the Patriots received in return for Jimmy Garoppolo. Who will the Patriots take? Perhaps the heir apparent to Rob Gronkowski. It's fitting right? Goedert's favorite player is ironically Rob Gronkowski and now he will be brought in to eventually replace him.

44.Washington Redskins: Sony Michel, RB, Georgia

Michel, someone that has receive buzz as a first round pick and even the next Alvin Kamara falls to the near middle second round. The Redskins have been looking for a go-to RB for awhile, they found an elite scat back in Chris Thompson but are looking for that bell-cow. Sony Michel could be just that for this brand new offense.

45.Green Bay Packers: Dante Pettis, WR, Washington

My top receiver goes off the board here and gets to play with the best Quarterback I've ever seen. The Packers with the addition of Joshua Jackson are leaving minimal holes but they still need to replace Jordy Nelson. Pettis is someone that does everything very well and could turn into an elite receiver with Rodgers throwing him the ball.

46.Cincinnati Bengals: Sam Hubbard, EDGE, Ohio State

The Bengals brought Michael Johnson back after he failed in Tampa Bay but he's still 31 years old and the team runs a 4-3 which is the perfect situation for Sam Hubbard who will fall in this draft after running a very poor 40-yard time at his pro day.

47.Philadelphia Eagles via Arizona Cardinals: Billy Price, C, Ohio State

The Eagles reap the benefits of making a trade down out of the first round. They allow the Cardinals to end the first night of the draft and end up stealing a very talented center in Billy Price who they may have coveted at 32 regardless. After that trade the Eagles still received a couple more picks and once again Howie Roseman is winning the league.

48.Los Angeles Chargers: Ronnie Harrison, S, Alabama

Tre Boston had a great season for the Chargers and even still he's having a hard time testing the free agent market. The Chargers will likely move on and steal Harrison in the second round here.

49.Indianapolis Colts via New York Jets: Genard Avery, ILB, Memphis

They met with Avery, he's not a secret anymore. Genard Avery is the next best inside linebacker likely available at this point in the draft. The Colts need a true inside backer and Avery will fit that bill.

50.Dallas Cowboys: Nathan Shepherd, DT, Fort Hays State

Dallas is trying to beef up that interior line and they have done a nice job finding players like David Irving and DeMarcus Lawrence. However, Maliek Collins has not been a success. The Cowboys fans who do not do their research will look silly when they boo this pick but the people who have followed the draft inside out and know about the Fort Hays product will love this pick.

51.Detroit Lions: Kerryon Johnson, RB, Auburn

Kerryon Johnson has been extremely underrated by many of the media personnel. However, I believe among the NFL, Johnson is high regarded and he's going second round. The Lions passed on Derrius Guice in the first but they get their bell-cow back in Kerryon Johnson.

52.Baltimore Ravens: Frank Ragnow, C, Arkansas

The Ravens might be boring their fans that want exciting picks but let's be real here. If you have ever seen the Ravens depth chart on the offensive line you would know any draft that has the team getting Isaiah Wynn and Frank Ragnow is exciting. Ragnow is my top center and while he falls a bit here the Ravens go from ugly offensive line to one player away from making this a potential "special" line.

53.Buffalo Bills: Donte Jackson, CB, LSU

Buffalo gave up their haul in the first to draft Josh Allen but this is not a finished team. Allen won't play for a year or two and the Bills defense let E.J. Gaines go in favor of Vontae Davis who was cut before the year ended last year. Insert Donte Jackson, fastest CB arguably in this draft and the Bills have met with him. I think this is the pick.

54.Kansas City Chiefs: Terrell Edmunds, S, Virginia Tech

I believe the Kansas City Chiefs absolutely have to upgrade the safety spot. Terrell Edmunds is like a spider with his length and range. Putting him next to a star like Eric Berry would definitely work out.

55.Carolina Panthers: Austin Corbett, G, Nevada

Panthers upgrade their offensive line by adding the Nevada guard who is just plain nasty and mean. Corbett has indeed risen up the board enough to be in the top 60.

56.Buffalo Bills via Los Angeles Rams: Kolton Miller, OT, UCLA

Very big, very raw but the Bills can afford to grab him with the additional pick from the Rams they acquired for Sammy Watkins (I don't even want to talk about it). The Bills add Miller who will likely slide down to RT in favor of keeping Dion Dawkins at LT.

57.Tennessee Titans: Josh Sweat, EDGE, Florida State

Earlier in the draft the Titans filled their biggest need with Leighton Vander Esch and now they upgrade the edge with supreme super-athletic and super-talented Josh Sweat. The only reason he's not a first-round pick is because of his medical scare but the Titans have met with him and reportedly like him. This is a great fit for Sweat and an upgrade over Derrick Morgan.

58.Atlanta Falcons: Anthony Miller, WR, Memphis

With the Falcons addressing their need at DT, there is not much to really worry about except for receiver. After Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu, the Falcons have Justin Hardy who does intrigue me but not enough to start at slot when you can get a player like Anthony Miller.

59.San Francisco 49ers via New Orleans Saints: Lorenzo Carter, EDGE, Georgia

The Niners can go a variety of routes but they should definitely look at upgrading the LEO pass rusher spot. Lorenzo Carter has the versatility to play outside linebacker as well in their 4-3 defense so he makes the most sense here. Many have Carter going into the first but I just dont see it. This, to me is Carter's ceiling and it would be a nice fit for Carter to go to San Francisco.

60.Pittsburgh Steelers: Malik Jefferson, ILB, Texas

After grabbing their safety of the future, the Steelers were able to get the best player available and now will be able to address their need at inside backer without reaching. Try Jefferson, who many felt was a guaranteed first round pick. Jefferson lacks a great feel for the game but he's a very athletic inside backer that could be coached into a dominating player hopefully next to Ryan Shazier.

61.Jacksonville Jaguars: Orlando Brown, OT, Oklahoma

The Jaguars received nice value out of Cam Robinson last season and with Jermey Parnell at RT the Jaguars could go for some value. I have a higher grade on Tyrell Crosby but I see the Jaguars going after the behemoth Orlando Brown here for the RT spot. They met with both of them but I see Brown as the pick, not necessarily the pick they should make.

62.Minnesota Vikings: Harrison Phillips, DT, Stanford

With Sharrif Floyd likely never playing again and Sheldon Richardson only signed to a one-year deal, the Vikings will want to prepare themselves past this season and they do that with Stanford DT Harrison Phillips.

63.New England Patriots: Kyle Lauletta, QB, Richmond

This was my sleeper going into Mobile, Alabama and he left as a star. Lauletta is the perfect heir to the throne of Tom Brady. You just watch him and you know Belichick would want him. Lauletta is a comparison of Kirk Cousins, has mobility, he's tough as nails and throws with timing and accuracy. His arm strength is consistently knocked even though it's honestly not bad at all (not to mention arm strength is the easiest thing to improve upon as a QB). Lauletta will understudy Brady for one year and perhaps more if he continues to play.

64.Cleveland Browns via Philadelphia Eagles: B.J. Hill, DT, N.C. State

Cleveland continues to bolster their roster with the addition of B.J. Hill who is sure to help fill in the defensive tackle spot next to Larry Ogunjobi.

THIRD ROUND

65.Buffalo Bills via Cleveland Browns: James Washington, WR, Oklahoma State

The Bills are going to need to help A.J. McCarron and Josh Allen out by getting them some weapons. Kelvin Benjamin is something but after him Zay Jones is a promising rookie with a disturbing event that transpired over the off-season and the rest of the guys are just fillers on any other roster. James Washington dominated the Senior Bowl and I met Bills Head coach Sean McDermott so I know he was there and saw the domination for himself. I think this is the route they have to go.

66.New York Giants: Tyrell Crosby, OT, Oregon

So Gettleman starts off his regime right with the selection of a franchise QB, my top overall cornerback and now my top tackle in round three. Crosby should go earlier but this is a great landing spot for him and the Giants. The team is reportedly all over the idea of trading away former first-round pick Ereck Flowers and so the Giants will move on and who better to replace him then Tyrell Crosby.

67.Indianapolis Colts: DeShon Elliott, S, Texas

First Malik Hooker last year and now DeShon Elliott to go next to him? Yes, the Colts and Chris Ballard are winning this draft right now.

68.Houston Texans: Chukwuma Okorafor, OT, Western Michigan

Well, the reason Houston is just now finally picking is because of all they gave up to receive Deshaun Watson. Sure, the first seven games of the season made it look worth it but if the Texans want that to ultimately end up being worth it the team will have to keep their QB upright. Even though the Watson injury was all freak and non-contact in practice, there still should be a premium spent on protection on their huge investment. Okorafor would be a help.

69.New York Giants via Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jordan Whitehead, S, Pittsburgh

As the Giants continue to build up their roster they need to make tough calls on who to give up on. I like Darian Thompson but I believe that Jordan Whitehead would be an upgrade over him and would be a nice underrated pick in the third round.

70.San Francisco 49ers via Chicago Bears: Brian O'Neil, OT, Pittsburgh

Kyle Shanahan continues to add to the offense by selecting a future LT for life after 33-year old Joe Staley. The team has met with O'Neil this pre-draft process.

71.Denver Broncos: Rashaad Penny, RB, San Diego State

Denver grabs their starting RB after letting go of C.J. Anderson. My comparison for Penny? C.J. Anderson. With the offensive line Denver is building Penny could be in for a treat.

72.New York Jets: Mike Gesicki, TE, Penn State

Clive Walford was just picked up and the team drafted Clemson TE Jordan Leggett last year but I still think neither could stop the Jets from grabbing my top TE in the third round. This is the same team that got some production out of Austin Seferian-Jenkins, but he's gone now and in comes Gesicki.

73.Miami Dolphins: Fred Warner, ILB, BYU

The Dolphins have Kiko Alonso, Raekwon McMillan and Stephone Anthony but McMillan suffered a season-ending injury last year and so this team will be looking for some depth. It's not a given that Anthony starts and especially if Warner is the pick here. The Dolphins did meet with Warner throughout this process and he would fit nicely in Miami.

74.San Francisco 49ers: Jerome Baker, OLB, Ohio State

The Niners got their inside guy with Roquan Smith, they got their LEO pass rusher in Lorenzo Carter, a future LT in Brian O'Neil and now they grab Jerome Baker to replace Malcolm Smith at the will linebacker spot.

75.Oakland Raiders: Da'Shawn Hand, DT, Alabama

The Jon Gruden era is going to be full of new pieces and the Raiders were looking to add Ndamukong Suh to that defense before he signed with the Rams. Now, the team will surely be looking for a defensive tackle and Da'Shawn Hand in the third round offers great value here.

76.Green Bay Packers: Ian Thomas, TE, Indiana

With the Packers addressing pretty much their two biggest needs in this draft the team can look at a high upside tight end to replace Jimmy Graham who they just signed to a contract but is in his late prime.

77.Cincinnati Bengals: Martinas Rankin, OT, Texas A&M

Eric Fisher was supposed to be the super athletic and fun tackle that would just pan out. He hasn't and now the Bengals will have to look elsewhere in the draft. I really like Rankin and believe he can start day one at RT.

78.Kansas City Chiefs: Dorance Armstrong Jr., EDGE, Kansas The local product is going to fall in this draft due to his down year in 2017. Whoever gets Dorance Armstrong Jr. is getting a player with very high upside. The Chiefs will happily take him and potentially move him ahead of Dee Ford on the depth chart over time.

79.Philadelphia Eagles via Arizona Cardinals: Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia

This pick goes back to Philly as the final piece of the Mason Rudolph trade. Originally the Eagles did not have this pick so they take it as a freebie and take the best player on their board Nick Chubb. Sure, they have Jay Ajayi, Corey Clement and Wendell Smallwood but you are severely underrating Chubb if you don't believe he can eventually take over as the starter.

80.Houston Texans via Seattle Seahawks: Jalyn Holmes, DE, Ohio State

Houston has had the worst luck with their franchise player J.J. Watt and right next to him the team could use an upgrade. Jalyn Holmes is a very athletic defensive end/defensive tackle. He would be great a fit in Houston.

81.Dallas Cowboys: Marcell Ateman, WR, Oklahoma State

The Cowboys cut Dez Bryant and regardless with or without Dez, Allen Hurns and Deonte Thompson aren't going to cut it. Terrance Williams is average and Cole Beasley is solid in the slot but the Cowboys obviously need an upgrade. Marcell Ateman is an underrated WR that does everything well. His size is going to offer a lot of mismatches and it's going to be a huge help in the red zone.

82.Detroit Lions: Rasheem Green, DT, USC

The Lions are going to look heavily at defense with new Head coach Matt Patricia. They added Harold Landry earlier but strayed away from the defense by adding Kerryon Johnson and grabbing their go-to RB. Now, they go back to the defense and strengthen the interior defensive line with Rasheem Green.

83.Baltimore Ravens: Mark Andrews, TE, Oklahoma

Right now the Ravens are having a great draft after bolstering their offensive line and here they take advantage of a fall for Mark Andrews. For a team that used to have Dennis Pitta and Todd Heap the Ravens are in a polar opposite direction as far as talent is concerned. Andrews offers nothing as a blocker but he's a great receiving threat.

84.Los Angeles Chargers: Uchenna Nwosu, EDGE, USC

Reports have come out that the Chargers are in love with Nwosu and keeping the Trojan in Los Angeles might make a lot of sense. Nwosu was a captain and provides one of the quickest first-step's in the draft you will find. The Chargers are looking to upgrade the linebacker position for Gus Bradley and Nwosu would be huge.

85.Carolina Panthers: Duke Dawson, CB, Florida

The Panthers traded away Daryl Worley and could use an upgrade. They have an intriguing player in Corn Elder but they could use more. Duke Dawson is someone the Panthers have had in for a pre-draft visit and will be on their radar.

86.Kansas City Chiefs: Anthony Averett, CB, Alabama

Kansas City just traded Marcus Peters to the Rams and lost Terrance Mitchell to free agency. This team will have to address the CB position quickly and efficiently. Averett is a very underrated CB that could start next to Kendall Fuller & David Amerson.

87.Los Angeles Rams: Kemoko Turay, EDGE, Rutgers

I had Kemoko Turay on my podcast and he checks every box. He's someone the Rams met with (as he told me) and just what he brings to the table, Wade Phillips is going to see a lot of Von Miller in his game. That's not to say he is Von Miller but he does have serious upside. The Rams first pick of the draft addresses a need, adds a day one starter and someone with an extremely high motor, work ethic and character.

88.Seattle Seahawks via Carolina Panthers: Andrew Brown, DT, Virginia

The first pick in the trade that netted Carolina D.J. Moore, the Seahawks take the best player available in Andrew Brown. Seattle moved on from Michael Bennett and Brown is a similar player to Bennett. Brown would bolster the defensive line as the Seahawks try to quickly re-build this team that was once among the elite.

89.Tennessee Titans: Michael Gallup, WR, Colorado State

The Titans tried riding the Eric Decker train and it didn't go like they expected. With Corey Davis, Rishard Matthews and Taywan Taylor the team could use one more receiver with some upside and blocking ability. Insert Gallup, a player the Titans have shown interest in all throughout this process.

90.Atlanta Falcons: Darius Leonard, ILB, South Carolina State

The Falcons have an absolute stud in Deion Jones and they have a very solid player in De'Vondre Campbell. However, while Duke Riley has upside the team could use an upgrade as they look to put together a Super Bowl contender type of roster. Darius Leonard's stock is now at an all-time high and would be a great fit in the linebacking corps.

91.New Orleans Saints: Arden Key, EDGE, LSU

The Saints have been monitoring Key throughout the process and I think this is the furthest he falls. Key was at one point considered a top five pick and now he falls into the late third due to off-field concerns. If Key stays on key the Saints might have monumentally improved their defensive line in one draft with both Da'Ron Payne and Arden Key joining Sheldon Rankins and Cam Jordan.

92.Pittsburgh Steelers: M.J. Stewart, CB, North Carolina

The Steelers have been all about improving their defense this off-season as a Super Bowl contender that is trying to win at least one more before their franchise QB hangs it up. I was close to saying Luke Falk goes here but I think Stewart is a good fit as he can play on the outside or inside. He really flashed against top competition at the Senior Bowl and should probably warrant going higher than this.

93.Jacksonville Jaguars: DaeSean Hamilton, WR, Penn State

The Jaguars lost Allen Robinson to free agency so that likely means they should go out and replace him with the best route runner in this class DaeSean Hamilton. I know they haven't met with him but if Hamilton is there in the late third, you have to pull that trigger.

94.Minnesota Vikings: Nyheim Hines, RB, N.C. State

The Vikings lost Jerrick McKinnon to free agency and while they do have Dalvin Cook, they will need that change of pace back. Insert the guy they have met with during this process Nyheim Hines. He's similar to that of Tre Mason who went in the third round three years ago. Another weapon comes aboard for Kirk Cousins.

95.New England Patriots: Duke Ejiofor, EDGE, Wake Forest

Perhaps one of the most technically sound pass rushers in this class goes to perhaps the best possible scenario. Ejiofor is ready to contribute at a high level day one, so why does he fall this far down the board? Due to some injury concerns and the fact he's not a top notch athlete. Favor or not, the Patriots continue to nab high value pickups in the draft and Ejiofor might be the biggest not named Tom Brady or Rob Gronkowski.

96.Buffalo Bills via Philadelphia Eagles: R.J. McIntosh, DT, Miami

Buffalo likely just got one last year out of Kyle Williams and although they signed Star Lotulelei and have Adolphus Washington, McIntosh can offer extended depth in this defense.

97.Arizona Cardinals: Daurice Fountain, WR, Northern Iowa

Last year the Cardinals selected a sleeper receiver prospect in Chad Williams of Grambling and now back-to-back years the Cardinals go with the sleeper. This time they take a player that showed out at the East-West Shrine Game in Daurice Fountain. With John Brown's departure the team still could use another wideout.

98.Houston Texans: Marcus Allen, S, Penn State

The Penn State connection comes in handy here. Houston just signed Tyrann Mathieu who is of course, still a question mark if he can stay healthy. With Andre Hal being the other starter the Texans will need to upgrade and here comes Marcus Allen.

99.Denver Broncos: Luke Falk, QB, Washington State

Denver didn't get who they wanted to at QB since Baker Mayfield was off the board at three overall but they get a capable developing passer in Luke Falk who can sit and watch behind Case Keenum for a couple of years. I am way higher on Falk than others are and I think if he sits a couple of years he can be a really good QB at the next level.

100.Cincinnati Bengals: Tremon Smith, CB, Central Arkansas

Tremon Smith has been generating a ton of buzz and he finds himself sneaking into the top 100 here. The Bengals could really use some more talent at CB. Smith might be that diamond in the rough that may have been picked too early but is still in for being a great player. William Jackson III is absolutely phenomenal but the rest of the Bengals CB's are solid at best. Smith will help the position group.

FOURTH ROUND

101.Green Bay Packers via Cleveland Browns: Oren Burks, ILB, Vanderbilt

Athletic linebacker that adds more talent to the already underrated and talented linebacker group headlined by Jake Ryan and Blake Martinez.

102.Tampa Bay Buccaneers via New York Giants: Nick Nelson, CB, Nebraska

Vernon Hargreaves III has been a disappointment and Brent Grimes can't play forever. The Buccaneers will take Nick Nelson on a same-day air.

103.Houston Texans: Dalton Schultz, TE, Stanford

Ryan Griffin is solid but the Texans would probably be best to go after a Stanford TE. They have met with him and that school has a solid track record of pumping out NFL quality starters at the position.

104.Indianapolis Colts: Holton Hill, CB, Texas

Elite athletic profile with monster frame? Yes please. Holton Hill has a bit of a red flag off field but the Colts have met with him and take a gamble on improving their cornerback group exponentially.

105.Chicago Bears: Jamarco Jones, OT, Ohio State

Jones would be a huge get for the Bears who are in the process of building a special line from the inside out.

106.Denver Broncos: Tim Settle, DT, Virgnia Tech

Domata Peko is at the nose tackle position and he's just a short-term bandaid option. Sylvester Williams left and now the Broncos can replace the nose tackle position for the future with Tim Settle.

107.New York Jets: Derrick Nnadi, DT, Florida State

Xavier Cooper next to Steve McClendon and Leonard Williams could be upgraded. Derrick Nnadi is a player that might have fallen further than he should of.

108.New York Giants via Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Mark Walton, RB, Miami

The Giants let go of their top rusher Orleans Darkwa and signed Jonathan Stewart. If this was two years ago that might be a solid signing but Stewart should not be your starter and Mark Walton would be able to do it all.

109.Washington Redskins via San Francisco 49ers: Micah Kiser, ILB, Virginia

The Redskins have been looking to add some more linebacker talent and they have closest monitored Kiser throughout this draft process.

110.Oakland Raiders: Alex Cappa, OT, Humboldt State

I heard Reggie McKenzie at the Senior Bowl and it didn't seem like he liked Cappa. I am going to mock him here because I think he was bluffing in front of Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome who both sat on each side of me.

111.Los Angeles Rams via Miami Dolphins: Shaquem Griffin, LB, UCF

Finally the wait is over for Shaquem Griffin who is easily a top of the second round player but due to his disability of missing a hand, he falls into the early fourth round. Wade Phillips is going to love his new chess piece.

112.Cincinnati Bengals: Antonio Callaway, WR, Florida

He's not going undrafted. The Bengals simply do not care about character concerns and have already met with Callaway. He's a fantastic talent and I expect the Bengals to pick him here and shock everyone after the buzz going around that Callaway is likely to go undrafted.

113.Denver Broncos via Washington Redskins: Marquis Haynes, LB, Ole Miss

Broncos go best player available and add another pass rusher to the mix.

114.Cleveland Browns via Green Bay Packers: Tegray Scales, ILB, Indiana

Cleveland adds more linebacker talent and someone that can start over Joe Schobert inside.

115.Chicago Bears via Arizona Cardinals: Christian Sam, ILB, Arizona State

Upgrading the inside backer spot next to Danny Trevathan. Christian Sam doesn't blow you away with speed but he's powerful and will be a nice addition.

116.Dallas Cowboys: Tarvarius Moore, S, Southern Miss.

Moore's draft stock has soared and the Cowboys will definitely take him to help their back end. Also helps that they have previously met with Moore.

117.Detroit Lions: Quenton Meeks, CB, Stanford

Adding to that CB room with a very talented Stanford corner. This team is very high on last year's pick Jalen Tabor and obviously franchise player Darius Slay but Meeks would not be a bad move at all.

118.Baltimore Ravens: Bo Scarbrough, RB, Alabama

The Ozzie Newsome and Alabama connection never fails. Bo has a chance to be a much better pro than he was a college player.

119.Los Angeles Chargers: Mason Cole, C, Michigan

I just don't trust Pouncey to last long and Cole has the versatility to play all over the line anyway.

120.Seattle Seahawks: Tony Brown, CB, Alabama

The Seahawks let go of Richard Sherman and Jeremy Lane. Their CB's are in need of tweaking.

121.Buffalo Bills: Jaylen Samuels, RB, N.C. State

Need a bigger back to work behind and around LeSean McCoy. The Bills met with Jaylen Samuels at the combine.

122.Kansas City Chiefs: Akrum Wadley, RB, Iowa

He's not going to offer a ton as a pass protector but he has the ability to be that change of pace behind Kareem Hunt.

123.Miami Dolphins via Carolina Panthers: Chris Herndon, TE, Miami

I just looked at the depth chart at tight end for Miami and have no idea who would even start on this team. Insert Chris Herndon who took a. pre draft visit to Miami.

124.Kansas City Chiefs via Los Angeles Rams: Brandon Parker, OT, NC A&T

Kansas City adds another developmental tackle to the mix. Parker blocked for Tarik Cohen in college but is a project at the next level.

125.Tennessee Titans: Dane Cruikshank, DB, Arizona

Versatility and has a chance to replace Jonathan Cyprien if he doesn't turn his fortunes around.

126.Atlanta Falcons: Desmond Harrison, OT, West Georgia

Extremely athletic tackle that will be a project at the next level. Luckily for Atlanta, they have a pretty good offensive line that is all set as it is. With Jake Matthews contract expiring at the end of the year, it's never a bad idea to buy insurance.

127.New Orleans Saints: J.C. Jackson, CB, Maryland

The Saints added Patrick Robinson but he's not exactly young. Looking at the long-term, grabbing someone like J.C. Jackson would be beneficial.

128.San Francisco 49ers via Pittsburgh Steelers: Auden Tate, WR, Florida State

Red zone specialist, receiver or not, Auden Tate is going to be an excellent option for Jimmy Garoppolo downfield.

129.Jacksonville Jaguars: Kurt Benkert, QB, Virginia

If you just watched his Miami tape you would think Benkert is the top QB in the draft. He flashed elite upside but every game after that is the reason he's looking at being a fourth round pick. Still, not a bad idea to grab him in the fourth round.

130.Philadelphia Eagles via Minnesota Vikings: Wyatt Teller, G, Virginia Tech

A nasty guard that would be a good fit for the Eagles who need to find backup options and long-term plans in this draft and beyond.

131.Miami Dolphins via New England Patriots: Chad Thomas, EDGE, Miami

The Dolphins get the local kid who falls quite a bit in this one.

132.Philadelphia Eagles: Tarvarus McFadden, CB, Florida State

Philly moved on from Daryl Worley and now they can replace him by drafting a once considered first round talent.

133.Green Bay Packers: Colby Gossett, G, Appalachian State

Packers need to help the interior offensive line. Colby Gossett is a good pickup near the end of the fourth round.

134.Arizona Cardinals: Joseph Noteboom, OT, TCU

Arizona could use some more help at the offensive line position. Noteboom is being considered as high as a third rounder and would be considered one of the top available at this point.

135.Los Angeles Rams via New York Giants: Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, EDGE, Oklahoma

He shouldn't fall this fall but he's here and the Rams like this player a lot. Okoronkwo has met with the Rams multiple times and will certainly be on their radar. With the uncertainty of Matt Longacre and with the potential of moving Samson Ebukam in at inside backer, the Rams could afford to double dip on speed rushers.

136.Pittsburgh Steelers via Los Angeles Rams: Kalen Ballage, RB, Arizona State

The Steelers trade up with the Rams who move down to acquire some more picks and the Steelers move up to steal Arizona State's RB Ballage. With Le'Veon Bell's contract situation up in the air, the Steelers trade up for someone that is similar to the player Bell was coming out of college.

137.Dallas Cowboys: John Kelly, RB, Tennessee

The Cowboys grab a change of pace pass catcher in to spell Ezekiel Elliott.

All in one Stop: 2018 NFL Draft "toolbox"

NFL Draft toolbox
canstock7835808.jpg

I posted this purely for entertainment and another "all in one stop" draft resource toolbox. We all know the draft order will change as soon as the first trade begins.

Some of the sites and draft pundits that I listed below may not be to your liking. I selected them for their different views, perceptions and how they vary with their rankings.

Everyone has their favorites and sleepers but we all know how difficult it is to predict which players have the better pedigree to make an impact after the obvious 4 or 5 highest rated prospects at each position group.

I apologize for those of you that think some of this is too much information that you've seen before. I tried to make this post as short and simple as possible for a all in one viewing stop but it might be a bit tedious to navigate through for some. I hope everyone enjoys the 2018 NFL Draft even though our Rams don't have a selection (for now) in the first 2 pivotal rounds.

I used Walterfootball because they give a basic stat summary for each player.

Edge/OLB RANKINGS (Rams Targets)

Rank #4 Arden Key*, Edge/DE, LSU
Height: 6-5. Weight: 238. Arm: 33.5.
Projected 40 Time: 4.60.

Team sources think Key has high first-round talent and that he could be a devastating pass-rusher in the NFL, but is likely to fall to the second-day of the 2018 NFL Draft because his off-the-field issues are too dangerous to gamble a first-round pick on him. In a survey of league sources, Key was considered to be among the elite talents of this draft class. However, the major off-the-field concerns with Key are said to be similar to Randy Gregory or Tim Williams. While there are concerns, scouts also say that Key loves football and has worked on his own with pass-rushing guru Chuck Smith to develop his skills.

Key had a slow start to the 2017 season. He missed two games and had to work himself back into playing shape after shoulder surgery limited his offseason training. Midway through the year, Key started to return to being a dynamic speed rusher off the edge. A late-season knee injury also knocked him out of a few games. In 2017, Key totaled 33 tackles with four sacks and a forced fumble. He put together impressive games against Mississippi State, Auburn and Florida. Key made a sack to clinch the comeback win over Auburn. He was very good against Alabama, and the Crimson Tide couldn't block him.

Key was one of the best players in college football in 2016. He recorded 56 tackles with 14.5 for a loss, 12 sacks, three forced fumbles and three passes broken up on the year. He flashed a ton of potential as a freshman for LSU, totaling 41 tackles with 6.5 for a loss, five sacks and one pass broken up. Key is a dangerous pass-rusher with excellent speed and the ability to bend around the corner. He is lightning fast off the edge and has a ton of upside to develop.

Rank #5 Lorenzo Carter, 3-4OLB, Georgia
Height: 6-5. Weight: 250. Arm: 34.
40 Time: 4.50.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, Carter had an excellent workout with a very fast time in the 40-yard dash for a big outside linebacker. Carter was improved as a senior while starting to play up to his athletic potential. He showed dangerous edge-rushing skills against Notre Dame and made a lot of big plays to help the Bulldogs win in South Bend. In 2017, Carter had 57 tackles with 4.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and 7.5 tackles for a loss. Sources say they are giving Carter third- or fourth-round grades, although the team that likes him enough to draft him could take him earlier.

Carter has flashed during is career at Georgia, yet hasn't put everything together in one season yet. Perhaps that will happen as a senior. He started out his career with 4.5 sacks as a freshman to go with 41 tackles. Carter was quiet during his sophomore year with 19 tackles and zero sacks. In 2016, he recorded 44 tackles with five sacks and two forced fumbles. Carter came on late lsat season, so perhaps he will have a big senior year. Carter has a nice skill set with speed, athleticism and length.

Rank #6 Dorance Armstrong Jr.*, 3-4OLB, Kansas
Height: 6-4. Weight: 257. Arm: 34.75.
40 Time: 4.87.

Armstrong has an excellent skill set, but it was hard for him to illustrate in 2017 because the team around him was so bad. Opponents were able neutralize him with double teams and plays going away from him while taking advantage of the lack of talent elsewhere on the Kansas defense. As a result, Armstrong may be more of a second-day talent for the 2018 NFL Draft. In 2017, Armstrong totaled 63 tackles with 9.5 for a loss, two sacks, four forced fumbles and four passes batted. He is a fast edge defender with very good athleticism. At the combine, Armstrong looked smooth and athletic in the field drills.

In 2016 as a sophomore, Armstrong had some serious production with 10 sacks, 20 tackles for a loss, 56 tackles and three forced fumbles while being a First-Team All-Big XII selection. One general manager told me that they think Armstrong is a stud and can't see him staying for his senior year in 2018. They said that Armstrong could be on a par or better than Boston College senior edge rusher Harold Landry. That general manager thought Landry would have been a late first- or second-round pick if he had entered the 2017 NFL Draft.

Rank #7 Chad Thomas, 3-4OLB, Miami
Height: 6-5. Weight: 277. Arm: 34. Hand: 10.38.
40 Time: 4.92.

Thomas totaled 30 tackles with 8.5 for a loss and 3.5 sacks in 2017. Sources tell me that Thomas is really talented physically, but he never put it all together on the field. There were flashes of excellence and stretches of doing nothing while looking clueless. They say that Thomas lacks instincts as well. However because of his great skill set, grades are going to be all over the board on Thomas.

Teams also wonder how long Thomas will want to play in the NFL as he is known as a star DJ in the Miami area with a future as a music producer. 9/1/17: Thomas has flashed at times for Miami over the past couple of seasons. In 2016, he collected 37 tackles with 11 for a loss, four sacks and three passes broken up. He had 18 tackles with a sack, four passes batted and one forced fumble in 2015.

Rank #8 Jeff Holland*, 3-4OLB, Auburn
Height: 6-2. Weight: 249.
40 Time 4.79

Holland impressed team sources in 2017 with a strong season as an edge rusher for Auburn. He doesn't have good size for the NFL, but he has some speed and athleticism on the edge with a nose for the quarterback. On the year, Holland collected 45 tackles with 13 tackles for a loss, 10 sacks, four forced fumbles and a pass batted. He made some clutch sacks for Auburn. For the NFL, Holland could fit best as a 3-4 outside linebacker. In a 4-3 defense, his role might be limited to being a situational pass-rusher, given his size.

Rank #8b Jerome Baker*, OLB, Ohio State
Height: 6-1. Weight: 229. Arm: 31.5.
40 Time: 4.53.

In 2017, Baker totaled 72 tackles with eight for a loss, 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble and three passes broken up. He didn't validate some of the preseason media hype with his play in 2017, but he displayed some potential in pass coverage, which is an in-demand trait among linebackers in the NFL. As expected, Baker had a strong showing at the combine with a fast 40.

There has been a lot of media hype about Baker, but in speaking with scouts who did advance work on the 2018 class, they weren't impressed with Baker. They said that Baker runs around more blocks than he takes on and has the speed to get away with that against average offensive lines. They thought was more of a second-day to early third-day prospect. They said Baker is a good player, but not complete and isn't anything exceptional. They felt Baker was a good, solid, instinct guy who, in the right system, will play in the NFL, but over time they're a dime a dozen.

After Darron Lee was taken in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Baker won the job to be Lee's replacement as Ohio State's fast run-and-chase linebacker. Baker had a quality debut with 83 tackles, 9.5 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks and two interceptions. He is a highly athletic linebacker with sideline-to-sideline speed. Baker could be a great fit as a Will (weak side) linebacker in a 4-3 defense.

Rank #9 Josh Sweat, 3-4OLB, Florida State
Height: 6-5. Weight: 251. Arm: 34.64.
40 Time: 4.53.

Sweat was solid in 2017 with some good performances and some quiet games. He had 56 tackles with 12.5 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks and three passes batted on the year. One positive for Sweat was staying on the field and avoiding injury. Sweat decided to skip his senior year to enter the 2018 NFL Draft. He had a good combine workout with an excellent time in the 40-yard dash. Sweat has a lot of talent and was starting to flash as a sophomore in 2016. He had seven sacks, 11.5 tackles for a loss, 41 tackles and one forced fumble on the year. Sources say that Sweat has a first-round skill set and could explode as a junior.

Sweat comes with major durability concerns, however. He still has instability in a few locations in his knee from an injury he suffered early in his senior year of high school. Sources say Florida State has tried a variety of methods to rehab the knee, which hasn't responded. Because he could have his NFL career limited to one contract, sources say they hear that Sweat is going to skip his senior year and enter the 2018 NFL Draft. The knee injury could cause him to slide even though he has Thursday-night edge-rushing talent.

Rank #10 Uchenna Nwosu, 3-4OLB, USC
Height: 6-2. Weight: 251. Arm: 33.5. Hand: 9.25.
40 Time: 4.65.

Nwosu enjoyed a good 2017 season for the Trojans to help his draft stock. On the year, he had 75 tackles with 11.5 tackles for a loss, 9.5 sacks, one interception and 13 passes broken up. Nwosu is a pursuit outside linebacker for the NFL. He possesses some speed and athleticism off the edge. In the ground game and in the pass rush, Nwosu can struggle with the length and strength of offensive tackles, leading to him getting covered up. Nwosu would fit best as a a 3-4 outside linebacker.

Rank #11 Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, 3-4OLB, Oklahoma
Height: 6-1. Weight: 243. Arm: 34.5. Hand: 9.25.
40 Time: 4.77.

In 2017, Okoronkwo racked up eight sacks with 76 tackles, 17.5 tackles for a loss, two passes batted and three forced fumbles. He was a leading defender for the Sooners and received a lot of media hype. In speaking with a director of college scouting, they say they think that Okoronkwo is fast and explosive to rush the passer, but is tight.

He gets covered by length and mass on the edge with offensive tackles, and that will be a bigger issue in the NFL. They think that Okoronkwo could be a hybrid inside and outside linebacker for the NFL. They gave him a fourth- to fifth-round grade for the 2018 NFL Draft. 9/1/17: Okoronkwo was a dangerous edge defender for the Sooners in 2016. The juniot totaled 71 tackles with 12 tackles for a loss, nine sacks, three passes batted and two forced fumbles. It was a breakout season after serving as a backup in the previous seasons.

Rank #12 James Hearns*, 3-4OLB, Louisville
Height: 6-2. Weight: 239. Arm: 32.5.
40 Time: 4.89.

Hearns totaled 42 tackles with 13.5 for a loss, seven sacks, four forced fumbles and three passes batted for 2017. He played well against Clemson after underwhelming against North Carolina. Hearns was very streaky and inconsistent in 2017. 4/24/17: Sources say that Hearns is a bigger version of Devonte Fields. They say that Hearns is loose, limber, quick and fast to close. He needs to be more consistent, but his pass rush talent is developed. In 2016, Hearns totaled 42 tackles with 10 tackles for a loss, eight sacks, two passes batted and five forced fumbles. Hearns could produce a big 2017 season.

Rank #13 Hercules Mata'afa, DE, Washington State
Height: 6-2. Weight: 254. Arm: 31.5.
40 Time: 4.76.

Mata'afa played defensive tackle for the Cougars, but he will have to move to defensive end or outside linebacker in the NFL. Mata'afa does have a nose for the quarterback with pass-rush ability. In 2017, he totaled 43 tackles with 21.5 tackles for a loss, 9.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. Mata'afa had 47 tackles with 13.5 tackles for a loss and five sacks in 2016. He notched seven sacks in 2015. Mata'afa could get consideration for a DPR - designated pass-rusher - role in the NFL.

Rank #13b Marcell Frazier, 3-4OLB, Missouri
Height: 6-5. Weight: 260.
Projected 40 Time: 4.74.

Frazier put together 40 tackles with seven sacks, 15.5 tackles for a loss, one forced fumble and five passes broken up in 2017. He had a slow start to the year before playing better midway through the year and closing out the season well. Sources say that Frazier's development was hurt by Missouri losing star defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski to Miami.

Frazier had a solid week at the East-West Shrine. He did well as a speed rusher, but showed that he struggles in the run game. Frazier needs to get stronger and improve his run defense. He didn't participate in the combine. 9/1/17: Missouri has been a factory for NFL defensive line talent in recent years. With Charles Harris on the other side, Frazier was able to do some damage in 2016. The junior came on strong at the end of the season. On the year, Frazier notched 7.5 sacks with 33 tackles. He had two sacks as a backup in 2015. Frazier could be poised for a big 2017 season as it looked like the light came on for him late in the 2016 season.

Rank #14 Marquis Haynes, 3-4OLB, Ole Miss
Height: 6-2. Weight: 233. Arm: 33. Hand: 9.88.
40 Time: 4.67.

Haynes totaled 45 tackles with 11 for a loss, 7.5 sacks and three forced fumbles in 2017. The senior is a limited role player for the NFL as a designated pass-rusher - DPR. Sources say that Haynes isn't the fastest of learners, so switching to traditional outside linebacker in a 4-3 defense is not being projected for him. Additionally, they note that he is extremely thin. Scouts like Haynes' natural edge-rush ability and think he could be a contributor as a DPR. Teams were disappointed in his effort at times during 2017, and there was talk around Ole Miss that an agent got to Haynes and pushed on him not to get hurt. Thus, Haynes took his foot off the pedal in a lot of games, which resulted in him not looking good.

Sources are valuing Haynes for the third day of the 2018 NFL Draft. 9/1/17: As a junior, Haynes played well and illustrated that he can be a difference-maker as a situational defender. In 2016, Haynes had 53 tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, three forced fumbles, three passes batted, one interception and seven sacks. His sophomore season was even better with 43 tackles, 16.5 for a loss, 10 sacks, three forced fumbles and two passes batted. He recorded 31 tackles with nine tackles for a loss and 7.5 sacks as a freshman.

Haynes is fast off the edge and has some natural pass-rushing skills to him. He is a heat-seeking missile off the edge who is a natural pass-rusher. Haynes also has functional strength that was illustrated by bull rush sacks through Alabama's Cam Robinson and Florida State's Roderick Johnson in 2016. However, Haynes is extremely undersized and will have to move to outside linebacker in the NFL. Even for that position, he will need to get stronger, but he has a real knack for producing sacks in the clutch and had an impact in Ole Miss beating Alabama in 2015. Haynes has to get better in run defense or he will just be a situational rusher in the NFL.

Rank #15 Olasunkanmi Adeniyi*, 3-4OLB, Toledo
Height: 6-1. Weight: 248. Arm: 31.75.
40 Time: 4.83.

Adeniyi was a surprise early-entry into the 2018 NFL Draft. In his final season for the MAC champion Rockets, Adeniyi totaled 66 tackles with 20 tackles for a loss, 8.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. As a sophomore, he had 49 tackles with four sacks. Adeniyi is likely going to have to move to outside linebacker in the NFL.

Rank #16 Anthony Winbush, 3-4OLB, Ball State
Height: 6-1. Weight: 249. Arm: 32.13.
Projected 40 Time: 4.90.

Winbush is an undersized defensive end who will have to move to outside linebacker in the NFL. In 2017, he totaled 51 tackles with 16.5 tackles for a loss, 11.5 sacks and five forced fumbles. Winbush had 8.5 sacks as a junior and five sacks as a sophomore, totaling three forced fumbles and 39 tackles over those two years. Winbush should move to outside linebacker for a 3-4 defense and try to make a team as a designated pass-rusher - DPR. He will have to get stronger and improve his run defense for the NFL.

Rank #17 Ade Aruna, 3-4OLB, Tulane
Height: 6-5. Weight: 262. Arm: 34.
40 Time: 4.60.

Aruna put together 25 tackles with three tackles for a loss and three sacks in 2017. 9/1/17: Scouts going to fall camps during the preseason told me that Aruna is a sleeper prospect who could end up being a steal. Aruna is said to run the 40-yard dash in the 4.65-4.75-second range, which is very fast for a defensive end. He is only in his fifth year of organized football, however, and is considered to be super raw. Sources label him as a fast, explosive athlete who is still harnessing his talent and learning the game. In 2016 as a junior, Aruna totaled 43 tackles with 10 for a loss, five sacks and one forced fumble for the Green Wave. Sources say that the senior has the frame to hold 280 pounds and could be a 4-3 open-edge defensive end.

Rank #18 Davin Bellamy, 3-4OLB, Georgia
Height: 6-5. Weight: 240. Arm: 33.25.
Projected 40 Time: 4.78.

Bellamy really picked up his play as a senior and was very impressive against Notre Dame. He beat Fighting Irish left tackle Mike McGlinchey on a speed rush to get a strip-sack to close out Georgia's one-score victory late in the fourth quarter. In 2017, Bellamy had 34 tackles with 7.5 tackles for a loss, five sacks, three passes batted and two forced fumbles.

Sources say they're projecting Bellamy to Day 3 of the 2018 NFL Draft. They think Bellamy is a bit of a tweener and wonder if he can add weight to play defensive end in NFL. They also believe Bellamy is not all that impressive as pass-rusher. 9/1/17: Bellamy recorded 51 tackles with nine for a loss, five sacks and one pass batted as a junior. He had 33 tackles with three sacks, 5.5 tackles for a loss and one pass broken up in 2015.

Rank #19 Trevon Young, 3-4OLB, Louisville
Height: 6-4. Weight: 258. Arm: 33.75.
40 Time: 4.78.

In 2017, Young totaled 62 tackles with 12 tackles for a loss, 4.5 sacks and five passes broken up. He had 8.5 sacks with 10 tackles for a loss, 32 tackles and two forced fumbles as a junior. Young will need to add weight and get stronger if he is to remain in a 4-3 defense. Moving to 3-4 outside linebacker could be his best fit.

Rank #20 Mike Love, 3-4OLB, South Florida
Height: 6-4. Weight: 260.
Projected 40 Time: 4.67.

Love and defensive tackle Bruce Hector were Bulls players who sources mentioned as sleeper prospects on the rise. They say that Love is going to ignite some third-day interest in the 2018 NFL Draft because he has enough size, a great motor and some quickness. Sources say that Love showed disruptive spurts and has some experience standing up, so he has some scheme flexibility. In 2017, Love totaled 28 tackles with 11 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks and three passes broken up.

Rank #21 Justin Lawler, 3-4OLB, SMU
Height: 6-4. Weight: 265.
Projected 40 Time: 4.97.

Lawler didn't get a lot of media attention previously, but he had a solid week of practice at the East-West Shrine to help his draft stock. He found a way with quickness, technique and effort to achieve wins in the pass-rushing one-on-ones, plus made his presence felt in the team scrimmage. In 2017, Lawler totaled 74 tackles with 15.5 tackles for a loss, 9.5 sacks, two passes batted and two forced fumbles. He had 65 tackles as a junior and sophomore with six sacks in 2016 and five in 2015. Lawler could be a late-round pick or undrafted free agent who ends up exceeding expectations.

Rank #22 Kylie Fitts, 3-4OLB, Utah
Height: 6-3. Weight: 259. Arm: 32.38. Hand: 9.38.
40 Time: 4.69.

As a senior, Fitts collected 23 tackles with three sacks and a forced fumble. He missed the majority of the 2016 season with an injury. His best season came in 2015 when he had seven sacks with 41 tackles and 10 passes batted. Fitts had a strong showing at the combine with a fast 40-yard dash, including a fast 10-yard split.

Rank #23 Kemoko Turay, 3-4OLB, Rutgers
Height: 6-4. Weight: 252. Arm: 33.63. Hand: 9.38.
Projected 40 Time: 4.79.

Turay had a solid week at the Senior Bowl, showing some ability to rush the passer off the edge. He was able to get some wins in the one-on-ones by using his speed to run by blockers. Turay will need to get stronger in the run game. In the early going of his NFL career, he could compete to earn a roster spot as a backup designated pass-rusher - DPR - in a 4-3 or 3-4 defense. In 2017, Turay totaled four sacks and 58 tackles.

INSIDE LINEBACKER RANKINGS (Rams Targets)

Rank #4 Darius Leonard, ILB/OLB, South Carolina State
Height: 6-2. Weight: 229. Arm: 34.13. Hand: 10.38.
40 Time: 4.70.

Scouting sources told me that Leonard really impressed them during the fall. He flew around the field, producing a lot for his defense. Leonard amassed 113 tackles with eight tackles for a loss, eight sacks, one pass batted, two interceptions and one forced fumble in 2017. He has a knack for making plays behind the line of scrimmage, totaling 42 tackles for a loss with 13.5 sacks combined over his freshman, sophomore and junior years. Leonard has NFL size and dominated his level of competition. He was impressive at the Senior Bowl, showing pass-coverage ability while also running sideline-to-sideline in the ground game.

Rank #5 Malik Jefferson*, ILB, Texas
Height: 6-2. Weight: 236. Arm: 32.
40 Time: 4.52.

Jefferson totaled 110 tackles with 10 tackles for a loss and four sacks in 2017. He played hard for Texas and turned in his best season. Jefferson isn't great in pass coverage or at taking on blocks in the run game. He is at his best being a pursuit linebacker when running free and using his instincts to make plays. Sources have said that teams are hearing that Jefferson doesn't have a deep love for football. That was illustrated in him not producing up to his great skill set early on in his collegiate career and in offseason training according to league contacts.

Jefferson supposedly was unhappy with his role in the former staff's scheme, but that makes team sources question if Jefferson's work ethic will change when he has coaches going and coming as a pro. 9/1/17: In 2016, Jefferson recorded 59 tackles with 5.5 sacks and three passes broken up. The numbers don't illustrate how good of a linebacker he was. Jefferson was highly recruited and showed why as a freshman contributor for the Longhorns. He totaled 61 tackle with seven for a loss, 2.5 sacks, three passes broken up and one forced fumble in 2015. Jefferson had a bigger presence than the numbers illustrate. The junior has a nice combination of size and speed. He has a ton of upside, and it wouldn't be surprising if he is in store for some massive seasons for Texas.

Rank #6 Oren Burks, ILB, Vanderbilt
Height: 6-2. Weight: 228. Arm: 32.75. Hand: 9.
40 Time: 4.59.

Sources from multiple teams have told me that Burks impressed them during 2017. They like his combination of size, quickness and instincts. He could be a nice mid-round value pick. Burks totaled 82 tackles with seven tackles for a loss, one interception and three passes broken up in 2017. In 2016, he formed a potent linebacking tandem with Zach Cunningham. That season, Burks notched 59 tackles with 3.5 sacks and six passes broken up. He displayed some coverage and ball skills over his whole career, making six more breakups as a sophomore and seven as a freshman.

Rank #7 Josey Jewell, ILB/OLB, Iowa
Height: 6-1. Weight: 234. Arm: 32.
40 Time: 4.82.

Jewell totaled 136 tackles with 4.5 sacks, 13.5 tackles for a loss, one forced fumble, two interceptions and 11 passes batted in 2017. He missed some time with injuries, but still produced well for Iowa. 9/1/17: Jewell recorded 124 tackles with six tackles for a loss, nine passes broken up and one forced fumble in 2016. He is a good run defender who will need to get stronger for the NFL and show more pass-coverage skills as senior.

The NFL draft advisory board told Jewell he should return for his senior year rather than enter the 2017 NFL Draft. In 2015, Jewell was a tough defender for Iowa as he racked up 126 tackles with 7.5 tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks, six passes broken up, one forced fumble and four interceptions. It was an impressive season from the Hawkeyes defender. If he stays consistent to his play-making production as a senior, his stock could really rise.

Rank #8 Tegray Scales, ILB/OLB, Indiana
Height: 6-0. Weight: 230. Arm: 30.75.
40 Time: 4.77.

In 2017, Scales totaled 89 tackles with six sacks, two interceptions, one pass batted and 12.5 tackles for a loss. He was a solid defender for Indiana.
9/1/17: Scales was a contributing defender for the Hoosiers with 46 tackles as a freshman and 64 as a sophomore before a massive jump as a junior when he notched 126 tackles on the season. He also had 23.5 tackles for a loss, 4.5 sacks, two passes batted, one interception, and one forced fumble in 2016. Sources have said that Scales is a solid defender who is unspectacular for the NFL, similar to Clemson's Kendall Joseph or Ohio State's Jerome Baker.

Rank #9 Tre' Williams, ILB/OLB, Auburn
Height: 6-2. Weight: 238. Arm: 32.5. Hand: 9.25.
Projected 40 Time: 4.70.

Williams was solid for the Tigers in 2017 with 50 tackles and 2.5 sacks. He impressed at the Senior Bowl, flying around the field and delivering a lot of hard hits. Williams had 67 tackles with 3.5 for a loss, one sack and two passes broken up in 2016. He had 55 tackles as a rotational player in 2015. Following Auburn losing some fellow linebackers to the NFL after 2015, more was expected out of Williams in 2016.

Rank # 10 Shaun Dion Hamilton, ILB, Alabama
Height: 6-0. Weight: 228. Arm: 31.
Projected 40 Time: 4.63.

Hamilton totaled 40 tackles with 5.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in 2017. He went down with a knee injury in early November and didn't play the rest of the season. Alabama missed Hamilton in some big games, including its loss to Auburn. 9/1/17: In 2016, Hamilton started the majority of games next to Reuben Foster. Hamilton totaled 64 tackles with nine tackles for a loss, two sacks, one forced fumble and one pass broken up on the year before tearing an ACL in the SEC Championship Game against Florida. Alabama held him out of spring practice, but Nick Saban has stated the Crimson Tide believe Hamilton will not be restricted from practicing in fall camp.

Rank #11 Micah Kiser, ILB, Virginia
Height: 6-0. Weight: 236. Arm: 31.88. Hand: 9.25.
40 Time: 4.66.

Kiser amassed 145 tackles in 2017 and was dangerous as a blitzer, notching five sacks. He also had four passes batted and 9.5 tackles for a loss on the season. Over the past two seasons, Kiser has been a tackling machine for Virginia. He had a breakout 2015 season as a sophomore where he totaled 117 tackles with 7.5 sacks, 13 tackles for a loss, three forced fumbles and two passes broken up. In 2016, he managed to increase his tackle production with 134 stops, 10 tackles for a loss, 6.5 sacks, seven passes broken up, five forced fumbles and an interception.

Kiser is a tough run defender who is strong, intelligent, instinctive, and physical in the tackle box. He is not a fast linebacker with sideline-to-sideline speed, however. He also isn't a great athlete and will need a lot of development in pass coverage to be a three-down defender in the NFL. At the next level, Kiser would fit best as an inside linebacker in a 3-4 defense with a fast run-and-chase linebacker next to him. He could be limited to being more of a run-stuffing linebacker for the pro game.

Rank #12 Nick DeLuca, ILB, North Dakota State
Height: 6-2. Weight: 243. Arm: 33.5. Hand: 10.13.
40 Time: 4.85.

DeLuca had a strong enough year to earn an invitation to the Senior Bowl. He recorded 74 tackles with 10.5 tackles for a loss, 6.5 sacks, two passes batted, three forced fumbles and an interception in 2017. DeLuca put together a big 2015 season with 135 tackles, six passes broken up, three sacks, two forced fumbles and two interceptions. He received a medical redshirt in the 2016 due to a shoulder injury in the first month of that season.

Rank #13 Airius Moore, ILB/OLB, N.C. State
Height: 6-0. Weight: 237.
Projected 40 Time: 4.61.

In speaking with team sources, they say that Moore is getting mid-round grades. Moore had a good senior season, but went under the radar because so much attention was paid to Bradley Chubb and the Wolfpack defensive linemen. Moore totaled 67 tackles with three interceptions and four passes broken up in 2017. As a junior, he recorded 86 tackles with five passes broken up. Moore collected 78 tackles as a sophomore and 37 as a freshman. His pass-coverage skills could help him to rise in the months leading up to the 2018 NFL Draft.

PFF OVERALL LINEBACKER RANKINGS (Rams Targets)

Overall LB Rank #6. JOSEY JEWELL, IOWA
Iowa’s Jewell is an all-around linebacker who has graded well in all areas. He doesn’t have the same eye-popping measurables as the players above him in this list, but he has some impressive tape that should get him deserved consideration regardless. He has been a quality coverage linebacker and allowed zero touchdowns in 2017 despite leading the draft class among linebackers with 55 targets on the season. He also had 61 defensive stops, the sixth-most among linebackers in this class, giving him three-down ability at the next level.

Overall LB Rank #7. SHAQUEM GRIFFIN, UCF
One of the most intriguing players in the entire draft, UCF’s Shaquem Griffin is missing one hand after having it amputated as a child. He has been an exceptional pass-rusher in college, but would be remarkably undersized for that role in the NFL and will likely need to prove his abilities as an off-the-ball-linebacker. However, Griffen did generate pressure at a greater per-snap rate than 2016 first-round pick Hasson Reddick. Griffin has overcome long odds throughout his football career, but his true prospects at linebacker are all a projection.

Overall LB Rank #8. JEROME BAKER, OHIO STATE
Baker has the athletic profile of a first-round pick at linebacker, but his best season came in 2016. His 2017 season was solid, but a significant drop from the overall PFF grade of 87.7 that he managed the year before. He can move well in coverage and mirror receivers in man coverage, but he surrendered three touchdowns in each of his past two seasons and has just two picks and two pass breakups over that same span, so he needs to improve his ability to challenge at the catch point.

Overall LB Rank #9. DORIAN O’DANIEL, CLEMSON
Overall LB Rank #10. MALIK JEFFERSON, TEXAS
Overall LB Rank #11. AL-RASHEED BENTON, WEST VIRGINIA
Overall LB Rank #12. GENARD AVERY, MEMPHIS
Overall LB Rank #13. STACY THOMAS, LOUISVILLE
Overall LB Rank #14. FOYE OLUOKUN, YALE
Overall LB Rank #15. JACK CICHY, WISCONSIN
Overall LB Rank #16. MICAH KISER, VIRGINIA

PFF EDGE RUSHER RANKINGS (Rams Targets)

Rank #4. OGBONNIA OKORONKWO, OKLAHOMA
A tad undersized, Okoronkwo has enough length and juice to make us think he can hold up on the edge. Unlike Davenport, Okoronkwo more than held his own at the Senior Bowl and flourished in the actual game with two sacks and four other hurries.

Rank #5. KEMOKO TURAY, RUTGERS
Turay was one of the nations best designated pass-rushers as a freshman and sophomore before putting on weight and becoming a full-time player as a senior. He lost some of that pass-rushing prowess, but still has rare flexibility for a big man.

Rank #6. DUKE EJIFOR, WAKE FOREST
Ejiofor matches up with some of the top prospects in this class size-wise, but doesn’t have near the same juice. The encouraging thing is that he’s trended upwards as a pass-rusher every single year of his career.

Rank #7. HERCULES MATA’AFA, WASHINGTON STATE
Mata’afa played a grand total of seven snaps this season outside the tackles, but tipping the scales around 250-pounds, the Washington State defender will have to end up there in the NFL. It’s intriguing that he still racked up double-digit sacks from the interior – often blowing past guards and centers at the snap with his lightning quick first step.

Rank #8. ARDEN KEY, LSU
True sophomores aren’t supposed to dominate the SEC like Key did in 2016 when he tallied 25 combined sacks and hits. His off-field is obviously a concern, but when the only tackle to come close to slowing you down is former first-rounder Ryan Ramczyk, that’s special.

Rank #9. TYQUAN LEWIS, OHIO STATE
Lewis may have been overshadowed by some bigger names on the Ohio State defensive front, but he’s a high-level prospect in his own right. Over the past two seasons, he’s generated 35 combined sacks and hits while displaying the ability to rush from anywhere along the defensive line of scrimmage. He was also one of the top performers at the Senior Bowl garnering six pressures in the game.

Rank #10. SAM HUBBARD, OHIO STATE
Hubbard already looks like an NFL vet with his hand usage as a pass-rusher. Unfortunately, he’s limited athletically and was often the weak link on a loaded Ohio State defensive line.

Rank #11. JOE OSTMAN, CENTRAL MICHIGAN
Ostman was the most productive pass-rusher in this draft class this past season, notching 54 total pressures. His length and athleticism are lacking, but his production is hard to ignore.

Rank #12. CHAD THOMAS, MIAMI (FLA.)
Thomas comes ready-made to be an impact-player against the run as a rookie. Doing the same as a pass-rusher may take a little longer. Thomas would flash dominant outings, then disappear far too often.

Rank #13. JOSH SWEAT, FSU
Sweat is as athletic as any pass-rusher in this class, but it’s yet to translate to the football field. He’ll need to develop a handful more pass-rushing moves to make an impact at the next level.

Rank #14. JUSTIN LAWLER, SMU
Lawler posted the top grade among edge defenders at 91.0 overall last season as he knows how to win with a variety of pass-rush moves and low pad level. His lack of athleticism may hinder his ability at the next level, but his production as a pass-rusher in the run game is worth a look.

Rank #15. UCHENNA NWOSU, USC
Nwosu has rare movement skills for a man his size. That never quite translated to pass-rushing though and he may be best as a true 3-4 outside linebacker that regularly drops into coverage.

Rank #16. LORENZO CARTER, GEORGIA
Carter is an excellent athlete, but his four-year production has been mediocre. He picked up eight of his 35 pressures in one game last season (Notre Dame), and his inability to consistently get after the quarterback is a concern given his size and movement skills.

Rank #17. JEFF HOLLAND, AUBURN
Holland came out of nowhere as he put up an, at-times dominant 2017 season. He notched at least six pressures in seven games for Auburn this past season.

Rank #18. KYLIE FITTS, UTAH
When Fitts was fully healthy, he was one of the few pass-rushers in this class that could win the edge as a pass-rusher. His career was plagued with injuries at Utah though.
