Yellow Youth XL Gurley jersey for sale, $30

Mods, I hope I’m not out of line for posting this:

Hey, my wife and I both ordered a color rush Gurley jersey for our boy’s 14th birthday, leaving us with one extra. I’d like someone from ROD to have it, hopefully in time for next Sunday. Brand new, still with tags. Paid $45 for it, will take $30 because I’m so goddam stoked we’re going to the Super Bowl!!!

PM me tonight, and I can send it mañana. Send me a check when you can, maybe with a couple extra bucks for postage. Here are some pix, plus one for reference with my 14 yr old wearing it. He’s 5’ 2” and about 95 lbs.

Predict the Score - Super Bowl Edition !!!

Figured I would kick this thread off a bit early and give the masses a chance to calculate, recalculate, double and triple check their math before submitting any scores.

So here it is Rams On Demand first ever (I think) Predict the Score Super Bowl Edition.

The powers that be have granted me the authority to keep the prize pool at 25k/50k (50k for exact score prediction)

Once again the 1st person with the closest score prediction wins..so get those guesses in ASAP

( AND DONT FORGET THE LIKE BUTTON...DADDY NEEDS SOME GAMBLING CREDITS LOL)

Will You Buy NFC Champ Gear?

I remember when we won Super Bowl 34, and my wife bought me sweatshirts and Super Bowl merch. following the game. When I chose to wear anything from 1999, the one NFC Champ sweatshirt was never my first choice. it looked pretty nice, but there was no substitute for Super Bowl 34 victory stuff.

If the impossible happens and the Pats luck out on Feb. 3rd, will you buy and wear NFC Champ gear, or is that cheering for being 2nd place?

Tooth Pain

I am in a spot, and God it hurts....I've a back tooth that needs to be pulled, and of course there are no dentists open at 3:30pm on a Friday. Not even an emergency type dentist. I got a hold of one place 130 miles away, and they said I'd first have to have an appointment/exam which Monday would be the earliest available time????? Meanwhile, I have to survive the weekend...

I've tried:
1. Orajel
2. Coconut oil
3. Peroxide
4. salt water

Wife has some oxycotin which I have taken. The tooth is eaten away at the gum line and i have even thought of trying to pull it out myself, but am afraid of breaking it off and be in worse condition than i am right now. Any ideas on how to reduce the pain? I have some rye whiskey, but I better not use that with the oxy..;)

Rams Hall of Famer Jackie Slater will root for his son, and the Patriots

Slater-Jackie-2.jpg

Pro Football Hall of Fame

Pro Football Hall of Famer Jackie Slater played his entire 20-year career with the Rams, second only to former Lion Jason Hanson for the longest tenure with one team in NFL history. But on Super Bowl Sunday, Slater will be rooting against the Rams.

That’s because his son, Matthew Slater, is the Patriots’ special teams captain, and Jackie always supports his son’s team.

“I gave him a hard time, like, ‘Are you going to be coming to this game in Ram attire, waving a Ram towel?'” Matthew Slater said. “We had a good laugh. Ultimately I’m his son and he’s always going to support me and want to see me do the best I can and be successful. This coming weekend that will mean seeing the Patriots be successful, even against his old team.”

Although Matthew Slater still has a long way to go to match his father’s success in the NFL, he’s had quite a career for himself, lasting 11 seasons, all with the Patriots, earning two Super Bowl rings and being chosen to seven Pro Bowls. He and his dad both have a lot to be proud of.

Bart Scott’s funny

Bart Scott the Ravens Linebacker was on GMFB.

When asked what the Rams need to do to beat the Patriots is help Roby-Coleman out with Edelman, by giving Edelman some of that rib sauce. ( elbows to the ribs)

He was talking about Brady needing to be pressured, but more up the middle, because guys like Bosa on the edge couldn’t get it done. You don’t have to worry about Brady running on the edge because he runs like two times a season. It’s in his contract, Giselle tells him he can’t.

LOL This is one of the most entertaining GMFBs that I’ve ever seen. ( I used to watch all the time).

Look at these pics of the ball on GZ's kick it's amazing

OK well it turns out to be just one because the other one didn't come out for shit. The ball is almost out of the frame of the camera. So blame Zurlein for that.

I've watched this kick from a field level view many times now, and frankly the force with which this ball came off of his foot may be unprecedented for a FG attempt. I've never seen anything like it other than a kickoff from a tee. I've never seen a kick from this distance or even many yards less go this high and this far.

He is standing at about midfield ready to kick the ball. He hits it at the 47. It reaches it's apex well inside the 10 yard line in this video. Or so it appears and I've watched many times.

It passes through the goalposts at the very top, maybe a foot below at worst.

This kick traveled (if my math is right I will defer to @bluecoconuts and @Mackeyser who math and stuff and know parabolas <whuts those?> better than I do) about 85 yards. Or would have if there was no net to catch it.

It went as far as a kickoff that would hit the ground at the very, very back of the end zone or out of it.

Usually kicks from this distance that are good glide over near the bottom or a few feet above the crossbar, at most 10-15 feet above it. NEVER at the top of the uprights. EVER. And can you think of one that hit about 2/3 of the way up the net? I can't.

IMO this kick would have been good with Hekker setting the ball down at the Rams 47.

And on that subject GREAT job by Tha Ginga Ninja to set it down nicely after a shaky snap.

The Rams won the game on an incredible kick and a great recovery on the snap.

This is one of the top plays in Rams postseason history. Right there with Proehl's amazing catch as far as I am concerned. I think this kick will be talked about even more.

If anyone can superimpose the Jetsons car sound from the point of the kick on I would be in your debt.

I think it's the perfect sound for this play.

East coast Ram fan

Hey guys. Im a 30 year Ram fan and have lived on the east coast my entire life. Unfortunately we are getting the Patriots Sports Illustrated cover out here. Im hoping that somebody here on ROD thats on the west coast can help me out with Rams edition from the west coast. Ill pay obviously.

Help Me Out... If NFC > AFC, then

Why is it that before the Conference Championships, the Rams were considered an underdog to either the Chiefs or the Patriots?

Yes, the Rams pissed off the pundits because their Brees vs Brady narrative didn't work out. But the last few years, it was said by most of them "the NFC is no joke." or "it's clearly better than the AFC, where the Patriots have an easy ride to win the division because their division sucks."

Now, after the Rams have conquered the best conference and is the Champion, how is it that the Rams are underdogs? It's not just Vegas, it's all of the talking heads (or most) who said the NFC was superior, now say their champion needs to have a perfect game to beat Tommy Perfect and the Cheatriots.
Why?

Free Agency Thread: 2019 Season

On defense, to my mind, we need a starting OLB to (hopefully) play opposite Fowler and a safety to replace Joyner.

Will we give Suh another contract? He looks well worth it right now, agreed?

Can we get rich, while our main rivals get poorer? A similar front office move led to the Seahawks getting rich at our expense, back when we last had a talented roster

This would allow us to address other positions in the draft and take BPA if someone drops in our lap

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS: Frank Clark, defensive end. Clark didn't get a ton of attention in part because these Seahawks were seen as a transitional team, one in a fluid rebuild that ended up proving to be a retooling good enough to land them in the playoffs. A big reason? The play of Clark, who racked up 13 sacks, 41 tackles, three forced fumbles, two passes defensed, one interception and 51 QB pressures (12th-most in the NFL). Not bad for a contract season. Add in his recent statement that he played the entire season at 60 percent (due to what he says were two torn UCLs suffered in the same game against the Vikings) and his play becomes even more impressive. Keep an eye on this one.

ARIZONA CARDINALS: Tre Boston, safety. Boston moved to Arizona in 2018 (after spending 2017 with the Chargers) and didn't miss a beat, recording 79 tackles, nine passes defensed, three interceptions and one forced fumble in his first season with the lowly Cardinals. At 26 years old, Boston has already played for three teams in five seasons and is expected to hit the free-agent market again. If his 2018 is any proof, the safety could be a good low-key addition for a team in need of a safety.

Report: Steve Spagnuolo Favored to be Chiefs Next Defensive Coordinator

voh12.So.156.jpeg

Steve Spagnuolo is favored to replace Bob Sutton as the Chiefs defensive coordinator, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Spagnuolo is the former St. Louis Rams and New York Giants head coach.

The 59-year-old Spagnuolo worked with Kansas City head coach Andy Reid in Philadelphia during his time with the Eagles from 1999–2006. He became the Giants defensive coordinator from 2007–2008. Spagnuolo served as the Rams head coach in 2009 but was fired in 2011 with a 10–38 record.

Spagnuolo worked with the Saints and Ravens before becoming the Giants defensive coordinator again in 2015. He worked as New York's interim head coach after Ben McAdoo was fired in 2017. He went 1–3 as head coach for the Giants.

The Chiefs finished the regular season at 12–4, losing to the Patriots in the AFC Championship on Sunday. Sutton was fired after the Chiefs failed to make an overtime stop to slow down the Patriots and quarterback Tom Brady. Kansas City gave up 524 yards to New England in the loss, including 75 yards in the game-winning overtime drive.

Ram fans do not travel well

In tomorrow's LA Times Liz Granderson in her column compares and contrasts the LA Ram fan base with those of the 31 other NFL teams. She claims that even at the home playoff game against the Cowboys, there was a 60-40 split, asserting that 40 percent of fans were cheering for the visiting teams. I don't know how she can prove that because people I talked or heard from that were at the game believed that 70-30 or 75-25 favoring the Ram fan base was more accurate. However, she does correctly point out that the 21-years that the Rams were in St. Louis they lost a vast majority of their SoCal fan base. I will even go one step further. When the Rams left for Anaheim following the 1979 season, fans living on the Westside, Santa Monica, Culver City, the entire SFV and Ventura County began to lose interest in the Rams b/c they wouldn't travel that far to watch them play and they adopted other teams to cheer for. This loyalty to other teams has now been passed down to the next generation and beyond. At my place of employment there were a couple of us who still cheered for the Rams even they appeared in two Super Bowls as the St. Louis Rams. In fact many former fans openly rooted against them. They simply passed down their hatred of Georgia Frontiere to the players. Maybe a couple of Super Bowl appearances and/or victories will change all that.

Saints-Rams First Half: Observations, Thoughts, Details…

After a huge game like this, I enjoy re-hashing the details with my fellow Rams fans. Please feel free to comment. In no particular order, memorable moments from the first half:

Thomas’ butt-crack: Thomas is an obnoxious dude who likes to show has azz, and this time he did so literally. The bizarre split-second exterior shot of the Super Dome was due to the “Janet Jackson breast-pop rule,” where the NFL has instituted a policy of having a three-second delay of the game in case of bizarre circumstances. In this case, Talib’s aggressive tackle of M. Thomas caused his pants to slide down and we all (unfortunately) got a brief view of Thomas’ butt -crack. The NFL tried to cut-away…(but) too late.

Saints TE part 1: TE Arnold’s drop in the end zone was a huge, HUGE play. Ball was absolutely in his grasp, perfect throw, he just couldn’t bring it in.

Saints TE part 2: Littleton’s H2H hit (which could have and should have been penalized) was another humongous play. Saints were down their top two TEs for the rest of the game. Just imagine if Higbee were out of the game with appenedicitis, and then Everett was KO’d, and we had to ride with Johnny Mundt the rest of the game?

Saints TE Part 3: Good news, Saints fans! Ben Watson is healing up nicely and will be available for the Super Bowl! Oh wait…

Hurricane: With apologies to N.O. for the metaphor, but after re-watching, that 1st Quarter was even worse than I had remembered. Good Lord, what a furious onslaught. Switching metaphors—the Rams were like a boxer on the ropes, and the Saints were just flailing away. Saints SHOULD have delivered the knockout blow in Quarter One, but they didn’t. Even 17-0 would have been dramatically different than 13-0.

Crowd noise on first drive: The crowd noise on the Rams first drive was the loudest I’ve heard any stadium, anytime, ever. The reaction to the Gurley INT was just… wow.

Gurley “sorry”: On second viewing, Gurley’s performance was even ‘sorrier’ than I’d remembered. Fair to say he cost his team (edit) 7 points: 3 on the easy INT, and then another 4 points by failing to catch the ball on 3rd and six. Gurley’s runs went nowhere. One more detail—Gurley was noticeably late on his blitz pick-up vs. Eli Apple, causing Goff to throw it away to avoid a sack. Glad for Gurley he scored on that nice TD run, because other than that, his first half was a nightmare.

Anderson juice: By contrast, CJ was a life-saver. On his first carry he gained as many yards as the Rams had gained on their first two drives combined (yeah, just five yards, but still—a STRONG five yards). Loved CJ on a 3rd and short-- there was no hole anywhere, so he just got on up behind Saffold and plowed and pushed for the first down.

Goff trash talk: Yes, it’s true! There is video evidence of our mild-mannered QB talking smack to the opposition! In the 2nd quarter, Goff floated a beautiful pass (to Cooks I think?) that just barely cleared the outstretched hands of #94, Cameron Jordan. After the play, Goff singles out Jordan and goes up and talks to him. Jordan smiles a little bit, then starts to push Goff away, in a playful “get outta here” sort of way. Just thought it was cool to watch our QB do that—talking smack to the DL while he’s tearing them up during crunch-time!

Fowler: Yes, Suh had another monster game, but I didn’t fully appreciate how well Fowler played. Key pressure leading to sack, key TFL.

Cupcakes: My favorite commercial during the first half.

“Good non-call on Robey-Coleman”: I shit thee not—during the first quarter, the following words came out of Aikman’s mouth: “The refs made a good non-call on #23 Nickell Robey-Coleman.” Would love to see a doctored video where Troy’s commentary was spliced onto the controversial play at the end… just to mess with butt-hurt Saints fans…

Clanking balls: Far and away, the biggest play of the first half was the fake punt. A destiny- changing play. Great poker face from Sean McVay-- cameras focused on him before the punt, and he looked relaxed as ever, nothing to see here…

All three phases: What a gutty, heroic performance from our Rams to cut it to 13-10. Took all three phases (ST, D, and O) to survive the first quarter and get the game back on track.

Alright ROD… would love to hear comments on any of the above, or let us know about some other ‘interesting detail’ from the first half that I neglected to mention.

JJIII trolled the Saints because he didn’t like how New Orleans taunted the Eagles

https://www.bleedinggreennation.com...t=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter

Rams safety John Johnson came up with one of the biggest plays in the 2019 NFC Championship Game when he picked off Drew Brees in overtime. He then celebrated that ginormous play by mocking the Saints’ “Choppa Style” celebration.

As it turns out, Johnson said he was inspired to troll New Orleans because of how the Saints previously mocked the Eagles.

To be clear, the Saints didn’t mock the Eagles’ dog masks as much as they mocked the ski mask gimmick. It’s very clear the Saints do not like the Eagles, as I wrote about last week:

For whatever reason, the Saints clearly have some issues with the Eagles. After New Orleans won their 2014 playoff game in Philadelphia, Payton had the Saints’ team bus do victory laps around Lincoln Financial Field. During the 2018 offseason, Alvin Kamara said the Saints would have “beat the shit out of” the Eagles had they not lost to the Vikings. During the 2018 regular season, Kamara and Mark Ingram mocked the Eagles’ ski mask gimmick and referred to the Eagles as “fraudulents.” After the Eagles lost in New Orleans on Sunday, Saints players mocked the ski mask gimmick once again and also celebrated with “Dreams and Nightmares” (the Eagles’ Super Bowl anthem) blasting from speakers in the locker room.

Johnson didn’t specify who he’s friendly with on the Eagles but Daniel Gallen noted he’s from the same county as some of Philadelphia’s defensive backs:

If you needed more reason to root against the Patriots in the Super Bowl, here you go. Very nice of Johnson to do the Eagles a solid.
