Hurricane Milton Making a Bee-Line for Central Florida

We are gonna get hosed. They say it's going to lose strength by the time it nears Florida's West coast... but the doom porn weather fucks claim it's gonna drop from a CAT 4 to a CAT 1 super fast. They're either full of shit about it really reaching CAT 4 strength for ratings or this storm is totally different from all of the others I've been through.

Whatever... this looks fucked. Stocking up on alcohol today in prep. Fucking A.

Coaching Hotseat & Coaches to Watch

I think McVay is in a position right now where IF a top coordinator type who is on the hotseat (in either a HC or DC role) gets the axe, he should snap him up. Who would this be? Well there are some quality options poised to get the axe...

1. Jonathan Gannon (Cards HC). Look the dude is a goofball, which hurts him as a head coach. But as a DC he was very good. And historically when a coordinator gets the HC axe they tend to jump back into coordinator duties and kick serious ass. He's young, he's sharp schematically, and I would love to see McVay add him as <insert made up coaching staff title here>.

2. Doug Pederson (Jags HC). What I like about this potential hire is that he could come in for a midseason role of some sort, then slide into the OC job after the season is over. I think the quality of the OC affects McVay's teams. And I think Pederson would be quite good and also wouldn't be hired away too quickly even if he adds a strong offensive knowledge base to this staff.

3. Mike McCarthy (Cowpokes HC). I have Mike below Doug because he is more hireable into another job. It would probably be a collegiate job I'd say, but the two are similar in that they are WCO tree coaches who would bring strong knowledge to McVay's staff.

4. Antonio Pierce (Raiders HC). Lot of folks will give me shit here but that's ok. Pierce was always a leadership stud as a player. He's got the knack for getting players to run through walls for him. And I think he has the tools and the mentality to become a top end DC in this league. Pair him with McVay and you'd have something special. Problem is he'll be hired away rather quickly if that were to happen, though it would result in a nice pick which I'd be ok with.

Would There Be More Home Fans in Attendance at Games If LA Had Gotten an Expansion Team Instead of the Rams?

Pretty much just fed up and disheartened with every game at Sofi being a road game-Would it be the same way if an Expansion team had come here instead?
I have a feeling that LA natives would have had an easier time switching to a brand new team/franchise if they already had a favorite team than to an already existing (and mostly winning) franchise.

Heck of a day for college football

#1 Alabama loses to Vanderbilt

#4 Tennessee loses to Arkansas

#9 Missouri loses to Texas A&M

#10 USC loses to Minnesota

#11 Michigan loses to Washington

#22 Louisville loses to SMU

Plus there were alot of other really great games yesterday

Oct / 5 / 2024 , was a great day for college football

I still don't know about all this college conference realignment , expanded playoffs , NIL stuff that is going to on , ask me again in 10 years , because it ain't done yet , and more changes are coming , ,

college football will still have some pretty great weekends

Alabama with their thirty 5 star athletes losing to Vanderbilt and their zero 5 star athletes will never get old..........................lol

Aaron Donald is…

The BEST player I’ve ever seen. He the undeniable best defensive player to ever play the sport. He is 1 of 1 and honestly, even as disappointing it would have been not to win a SB… being a Rams fan is worth it all to see him play. And my forever no. 1 guy, SJ39.

Seasons will be bright and grim. But one things for sure, I’m thankful I’m a Ram.

Lastly, fellas,…. It’s been such a blessing and an appreciation for the ability of McVay and Snead. Name a better duo over the past decade.. I’ll wait…. Here’s to health for 2024

GAME DAY Packers at Rams - Game Day Thread

NFL Week 5 Sunday, October 6, 2024

Green Bay Packers at Los Angeles Rams, 4:25 p.m. on CBS

Game Day Thread

The GDT is a live thread tradition here at ROD.

While we all get fired up watching the game, please remember our core principles; we always show respect for our team and each other.

Despite the emotional highs and lows watching a game, we will moderate this thread with that in mind, however please refrain from name calling. This applies to players, the Rams organization, and each other.

This is the core rule of the GDT. Moderators are tasked to issue thread bans, at a minimum, to maintain this standard.

This is our team. Win or lose. Good days and bad. We are here for FUN, not to be dragged down.

A more loosely moderated atmosphere can be found in the chat room.

Go Rams!

Jordan Whittington catching on quickly with Rams: 'It's just not too big for him'

Jordan Whittington catching on quickly with Rams: 'It's just not too big for him'

Jordan Whittington had a career game against Chicago in Week 4 as the rookie pass catcher from Texas hauled in six receptions for 62 yards. Having bigger responsibilities due to injuries in the wide receiver room, Whittington has been thrown into the fire and according to OC Mike LeFleur, he’s thriving.

“I’ve said this before, but it’s just not too big for him,” LaFleur said Thursday. “He’s played in big games. He’s getting more acclimated with the NFL, the speed of it and just playing on Sundays. Again, he put in a good day yesterday. We’re putting a little bit more on his plate every single week in terms of the run game, the pass game, formationally, and he’s handling well. He’s a pro. He’s going to be in this league for a long time.”

Impressed by Whittington’s preseason, LaFleur has seen his role become bigger week by week. Since Week 1 where Whittington had zero targets, his targets have increased by two, three, and now eight in the following weeks.

A big-game player, Whittington starred for the Texas Longhorns, who won the Big 12 championship and secured a berth in the college football playoff last season.
