Your favorite song that was never a hit?

I'm curious. What is your go to song that no one knows. A B-Side type song that you just love. A song that would require a full listen to the album.. It has to be a musical act that has other hits though. You must name at least one of their hits.

I'll start

I've loved this song since I was a teenager.

Bush had some great songs like "Glycerin" and "Come Down", but my favorite of all of their songs is called "Head Full of Ghost"

Conspiracy Theory I would Actually Love to See

Remember when, inexplicably, Tom Brady won a game against the Raiders in the playoffs invoking a fake "tuck rule"? Then later, he beats a 17 point Rams team (the best version of the best GSoT ever assembled), with key knowledge of Rams plays from video taken illegally and destroyed at NFL HQ, and multiple blatant non-calls for intentional grounding on the "winning drive"? All in a season where America was attacked and the Twin Towers destroyed invoking extreme PATRIOTism?

Well, whether you believe or disbelieve the Patriots tainted SB win, wouldn't it be fun to end up on the other side of the conspiracy?

Opening of the new Rams stadium. Rams 2-0 and Chargers 1-0 and currently beating the Chiefs. Maybe we are going to see a Rams/Chargers Super Bowl this season.

I'd love to bring this thread back to the top on Super Bowl week...

A few things I’m gonna try to look for today...

Watch Kiser and Young at ILB today. I’ve got a feeling that their play might be improving considerably.

Hoping to see some bigger holes opened by the Ram OL. Love to see Ram RB’s loose in an open field.

Wanna see Polite getting snaps. Or at least SOMEONE stepping up at that edge.

What adjustments have McVay and Staley made for the Eagles?

Hoping for a solid day from Sloman. Doesn’t have to break any records, just be solid.

How will Staley deploy his CB’s and Safeties not named Ramsey. Come to think of it, how will Staley use Ramsey? Lol.

Will Natrez Patrick be active today? And will he get snaps at edge?

Much shorter list than before the Cowboy game, huh?

Sunday Night Football: New England Patriots vs. Seattle Seahawks

"Sunday Night Football" will continue its early-season West Coast tour by heading up the coast to Seattle for Week 2 as the Seattle Seahawks will host the New England Patriots at CenturyLink Field. There will not be any in-person attendance so it will be interesting to see how Seattle responds to that after a 4-4 home record in 2019 with sold-out crowds.

Russell Wilson hit the ground running along with the rest of the Seahawks (1-0) as they defeated the Atlanta Falcons 38-25 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium last Sunday. Wilson completed 31 of 35 passes for 322 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions. The defense won the turnover battle, finishing plus-two in that department. Jamal Adams made a big-time statement in his first outing as a Seahawk by making plays all over the place. Adams led the Seattle defense with 12 tackles, including two for a loss, along with a sack. He also brought a swagger and energy that has been missing over the past couple of seasons. Special teams stepped up when needed as Marquise Blair recovered a fumble on a fake punt by Atlanta in the third quarter. Michael Dickson did a nice job of flipping the field punting the football and Jason Myers was 100 percent on the day as well.

New England (1-0) kicked off the Cam Newton era with a methodical 21-11 win over the Miami Dolphins at Gillette Stadium. Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels was able to put Newton in a position to succeed on a consistent basis against the Miami defense. Newton completed 15 of 19 passes for 155 yards and also ran for 75 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries. The Patriots held on to the football for more than 34 minutes, which is going to be a big part of the recipe for success this season. The defense limited the Dolphins to just 269 yards and picked off Ryan Fitzpatrick three times. Stopping the run was another reason why New England picked up the victory, holding Miami to just 87 yards on 27 attempts (3.2 yards per carry).

New England at Seattle

Kickoff: Sunday, Sept. 20 at 8:20 p.m. ET
TV: NBC
Spread: Seahawks -4.5

Three Things to Watch

1. Cam Newton vs. Russell Wilson

These two guys are very familiar with each other as the Seahawks saw Newton plenty of times from his days in Carolina. Seattle has a 6-2 record against Newton since the 2012 season. Wilson has the deeper group of skill position players with Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf at wide receiver, Greg Olsen, Will Dissly, and Jacob Hollister at tight end, and Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde leading the way in the backfield. Wilson and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer should be able to attack the Patriots' defense from all areas of the field. Newton doesn't have the depth of talent at the skill positions to work with like Wilson does as Julian Edelman and running back James White are his most reliable targets. N'Keal Harry is a guy that needs to take a big step forward in his second season to help Newton out. It will be very fascinating to see how head coach Bill Belichick and the offensive staff approach this game with Newton in what will be a very quiet environment. Consequently, it's going to boil down to execution by both quarterbacks and avoiding the catastrophic mistake.

2. Seahawks' defense

The physicality of the Seattle defense was very noticeable last Sunday as Jamal Adams set the tone by flying all over the field from all angles. That mindset will have to carry over as they can expect a healthy dose of the running game by New England with Sony Michel and Newton on designed quarterback runs to challenge that physicality. Fans will need to keep a close on the battle between the Patriots' offensive line and the Seahawks' defensive line as that will go a long way towards deciding this game. Julian Edelman will need to be kept in check by the Seahawks' secondary as he always causes problems for them. Shaquill Griffin, Quinton Dunbar, and Quandre Diggs should be able to play more aggressively this week and force Newton to beat them with his arm by making him throw at least 30 passes.

3. Coaching battle

Bill Belichick and Pete Carroll are two of the best in the business at getting their teams ready to play on a weekly basis. It should not come as a surprise that both coaches had their teams ready to play in Week 1 without having any preseason games. Carroll has a 2-1 record against the Patriots during his time in Seattle. Meanwhile, Belichick is 3-2 against the Seahawks, including a win in Super Bowl XLIX. Their styles are obviously different with Carroll bringing a lot more outward energy to the table every single day from the practice field all the way up until game day. On the other hand, Belichick doesn't say much when dealing with the media and is all about winning and everyone simply doing their job. Both styles have worked at a high level for Carroll and Belichick and should result in a fun chess match for 60 minutes in front of a national television audience.

Final Analysis

This is going to be a fiercely competitive battle between these two proud franchises. The Seahawks have a more dynamic offense which will leave them in a better position to come from behind against the Patriots, if necessary. Wilson will throw for about 275 yards and Seattle will run the ball for about 130 or so with Carson and Hyde leading the charge. It will be important for the defense will have to survive the first couple of series against the Newton-led New England offense. The Seahawks should hang in, even if they take an early punch or two, and eventually wear down the Patriots in the second half thanks to their offense.

Prediction: Seahawks 27, Patriots 20

Game Day Thread

The GDT is a live thread tradition here at ROD.

While we all get fired up watching the game, please remember our core principles;we always show respect for our team and each other.

Despite the emotional highs and lows watching a game, we will moderate this thread with that in mind, however please refrain from name calling. This applies to players, the Rams organization, and others.

This is the core rule of the GDT. Moderators are tasked to issue thread bans, at a minimum, to maintain this standard.

This is our team. Win or lose. Good days and bad. We are here for FUN, not to be dragged down.

A more loosely moderated atmosphere can be found in the chat room.

Go Rams!

2020 might be AD's biggest statistical season

This offseason basically wreaked havoc with offseason programs, and I suspect the end result will be a lot of players getting into playing shape during the first quarter to half of the season. And this should benefit AD, who trains like a fucking beast no matter who's watching. End result should be this season having a good chance to be his best one yet and maybe the best of his young and HoF career.

Also in large part due to AD's influence on those other DL there is probably a good chance that Brock follows suit. Brock already has a sack and played quite well in week one. In fact if I were our DC this weekend I would run AD & Brock both at 3T exclusively on passing downs and use A gap pressure/blitzes by Kiser and Rapp (who I think will be out there a lot) to force some isolation.

Re: the NTs... I'd use Gaines moreso on passing downs, as he's decent at penetration compared to SJD who is more of a clogger. So SJD on run downs. If the Rams play well tomorrow in Philly they might all have some padded stats and nice sack and pressure totals for this early season.

Staff Writer
The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced 130 Modern-Era nominees for its Class of 2021 Wednesday, and the list includes multiple former Rams: Running back Steven Jackson, wide receiver Torry Holt, outside linebacker London Fletcher, defensive lineman La'Roi Glover, wide receiver/punt returner Henry Ellard, punter Sean Landeta and wide receiver Wes Welker.
One of 14 first-year eligible players nominated, Jackson played nine of his 12 NFL seasons with the Rams and finished as the club's all-time leading rusher with 10,138 yards in 131 games. He is also tied with Eric Dickerson for second on the franchise's career rushing touchdowns list with 56.
Holt receives inclusion after being one of 15 Modern-Era finalists for the Class of 2020. He played 10 of his 11 seasons with the Rams, hauling in 869 receptions for 12,660 yards and 74 touchdowns during that stretch. His career receptions and receiving yards both rank second all-time in franchise history behind Isaac Bruce's 942 and 14,109, respectively.
Fletcher played four seasons with the Rams, first joining the club as an undrafted free agent signee in 1998. He went on to start all 16 games during their 1999 Super Bowl-winning season and lead the team in tackles in both 1999 and 2000. Fletcher then played five seasons with the Buffalo Bills, followed by seven seasons in Washington which included four Pro Bowl nods. When he retired in 2013, he heldthe NFL record for most consecutive games started at linebacker with 215.
Glover played the final three years of his 13-year NFL career with the Rams, making 91 solo tackles and 12 sacks in 48 games. Overall, he finished his career with 433 tackles, 83.5 sacks, eight forced fumbles and two interceptions.
A second-round draft pick in 1983, Ellard was a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time First-Team All-Pro in 11 seasons with the Rams. His 9,761 receiving yards rank third all-time in club history. He then played five seasons in Washington and one in New England, ending his 17-year pro career with 814 career receptions, 13,777 receiving yards, and 65 touchdowns.
Punter Sean Landeta, who played six seasons with the Rams in two separate stints (1993-96, 2003-04), also made the list. After making the NFL's All-Decade team for the 1980s, he was named to the All-Decade team of the 1990s as the second punter after averaging at least 42 yards per punt between 1990 and 1999. In those six seasons with the Rams, he averaged 44.1 yards per punt.

Wide receiver Wes Welker, who spent his 12th and final NFL season with the Rams before retiring, joins Jackson as one of the 14 first-year eligible players.
According to a press release from the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the list of Modern-Era nominees will be trimmed to 25 semifinalists in November. From there, those 25 semifinalists will be narrowed down to 15 finalists in January.
The complete list of 2021 Modern-Era nominees can be viewed here.

CJ Anderson retires

CJ was a monster as a late-season pick-up, gaining 299 yards in the last 2 games of 2018.

Then Anderson went off for 123 yards in the playoff win vs Dallas. IMHO he was a stronger RB than Gurley that day.

But his career fizzled in Detroit in 2019, and now he’s retired.

CJ was a wrecking ball for us in late 2018, and now all of a sudden he’s done. Weird.
