I sure do miss...

The Rams having a potent offense, it has to be driving coach crazy having to dink and dunk down the field. The season is not over but i have to admit im already looking forward to the changes that will be made on offense. If there is one thing that is true it is that coach and snead are not afraid to make changes. Goff will be here.. couple of o-lineman and a deep threat is on my wish list. Oh yea and an improved special teams.

GO PACKERS! Packers at Bears week 17

With the loss of Goff, Akers, Brockers and now the uncertainty with Floyd I have to admit that I am getting a “LITTLE!” nervous about the Rams upcoming game with the Cardinals and turning more and MORE attention to the Packers vs Bears Game! I HATE relying on help from other teams but I might just make an exception for this Sunday!!! IF Healthy I think the Rams can play with anyone but these HEALTH ISSUES are sure making it VERY CHALLENGING for the Rams!!!!

Floyd Sent to Hospital

We really can’t catch a break this week. Hopefully dude is ok and can be out on the field Sunday.

Los Angeles Rams LB Leonard Floyd to hospital with abdominal pain
5:29 PM ET
Lindsey Thiry ESPN
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- Los Angeles Ramsoutside linebacker Leonard Floyd was taken to the hospital Friday for precautionary measures after complaining about abdominal pain to a team trainer before practice, a Rams spokesperson said.
Floyd will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals (8-7). The Rams (9-6) can clinch a playoff berth with a win or a Chicago Bears (8-7) loss at home to the Green Bay Packers(12-3).
Playing on a one-year, $10-million contract, Floyd has 9 ½ sacks this season and has played a critical role on a defense that ranks second in efficiency.
"He has been so steady, so consistent, so versatile," Rams coach Sean McVay said Friday before practice. "He is really affecting and influencing the game in a variety of ways."
If Floyd is unable to play Sunday, expect rookie Terrell Lewis and Ogbonnia Okoronkwo to step in.
The uncertainty around Floyd's health and availability Sunday adds to what has already been a tumultuous week for the Rams, who will be relying on several backups against the Cardinals for various reasons.
Undrafted free agent John Wolford will make his first NFL start in place of quarterback Jared Goff, who underwent surgery on his throwing-hand thumb last Monday and will be sidelined at least a week.
Malcolm Brown could be the only experienced running back available in a three-player committee after leading rusher Darrell Henderson was placed on injured reserve because of a high-ankle sprain. Rams coach Sean McVay said Friday that Cam Akerswill be a game-time decision because of a high-ankle sprain that kept him out of Week 16. Rookies Xavier Jones and Raymond Calais have played only on special teams this season, but will be asked to step up if Akers can't play.
And leading wide receiver Cooper Kupp and defensive lineman Michael Brockers, who has 5 sacks, will remain on the reserve/COVID-19 list and will not be available Sunday, according to McVay. This is the first game this season that a Rams starter will miss because of being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Each of Goffs Plays in the first half against Seattle

This is going to be a very long post.

I reviewed each of Goff's plays in the first half to see just how bad or how not so bad he played.

The second half he drove to the 1 yard line and 4 runs couldn't get them in and then he hurt his thumb while driving the Rams to another field goal. After he hurt his thumb, I don't believe he was the same so not going to review any of his second half plays.

Anyway I tried to be non-biased as possible in these reviews. I said the good and the bad.

Take it anyway you want. This is how I viewed them.

Ist Series
Pass # 1
2nd & 6 – Rollout 5 yard safe pass to Reynolds to the left. Myself and another person believe Higbee was open further down the field but there was a defender in the direct line between Goff and Higbee and I think Goff decided to play it safe. This one falls under the Goff is not completely confident of his passes category.
Pass # 2
3rd & 1 – Incomplete to Reynolds to his left – stupid play imo since all 4 receivers within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage – reminds me of Boras consistently doing that – Goff was forced to throw it further left than he wanted to because a defensive player was almost between Goff and Reynolds – not a horrible pass – just a bad play design
Punt

Second Series
Pass # 3
2nd & 7 – Rollout right – pass knocked down by defender (50) – Reynolds should have gotten in way for a split second of 50 but since he didn’t 50 had a free shot at Goff. Woods and Kupp were both open down the right sideline – Goff had no chance on that one
Pass # 4
3rd & 7 – Goff drills a 9 yard completion to Kupp on the left sideline – no one else was open – very good pass
Pass # 5
1st & 10 – Goff scrambles to the left for 4 yards – no one was open – not a bad play by Goff
Pass # 6
2nd & 6 – Goff throws incomplete to Woods on right sideline – no one was open and basically threw it where only Woods had a chance to catch it – not a bad play by Goff
Pass # 7A
3rd & 6 – delay of game penalty – not a good play by Goff
Pass # 7B
3rd & 11 – Goff passes 12 yards to Cooper Kupp – very good pass since Kupp was barely open
Pass 8
1st & 10 – Goff passes 19 yards to Woods down right sideline to Seattle 45 – very good pass
Pass # 9
2nd & 7 – Goff scrambles 3 yards to Seattle 39 after deciding to not take a chance on a somewhat open Jefferson at around the 20 to 15 yard line. Plus Jefferson should not have slowed down and kept going to the left sideline at a 45 degree angle. Personally, I think he makes that throw in 2018 and completes it. Not a horrible play by Goff but not a good one either. However, I am putting this in the questioning Goff’s decision category.
Pass #10
3rd & 4 – Goff makes a very good to great throw to Woods for 11 yards to Seattle 28. Very tight window.
Pass # 11
1st & 10 – Jrry’s favorite Blythe play. Blythe is not blocking anyone and decides to help Edwards out and defender knocks Blythe right into Goff as Goff is about to throw a possible TD pass to Woods who got open free down the right side of the field. This one is on Blythe 100%.
Pass # 12
2nd & 10 – Goff scrambles left for 3 yards. For some reason, Goff was looking to the left the entire time when Brown was his check down to the right. Not one person was within 15 yards of Brown. This one is on Goff for not looking for his check down when no one was open. Bad play on Goff.
Pass # 13
3rd & 7 – Goff throws behind Jefferson at 20 yard line 2 yards short of 1st down who drops the ball. No one else was open and Goff had to get rid of the ball since 43 came in untouched to pressure Goff. Tough pass to catch but I think Jefferson still should have caught it since it hit his hands. However, it probably would not have been a first down. Not a good play by Goff but not a bad play either.

Opposing View: Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury on preparing for a Rams offense with possible personnel changes

Opposing View: Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury on preparing for a Rams offense with possible personnel changes

Already down their normal starting quarterback in Jared Goff and leading rusher in Darrell Henderson Jr., the Rams offense could also be playing without their leading wide receiver and second-leading rusher on Sunday.

Whether Cooper Kupp and Cam Akers are available or not, and whether young players have to step up, Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury believes Rams head coach Sean McVay will adjust seamlessly.

"Sean, like I said, he does a tremendous job maximizing his personnel, putting those guys in positions to be successful. So, it's not going to change much," Kingsbury said during a conference call with Rams beat writers Wednesday. "This team's beaten us seven times in a row, so there won't be any sort of overlooking what they're capable of, or how many points they can score."

Kupp was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday and is unlikely to be available for Sunday's game (1:25 p.m. PT, CBS), according McVay. His 92 receptions and 974 yards this season both lead all Rams receivers, while his three touchdown catches are third-most on the team.

"Yeah, Kupp is one of the best in the game," Kingsbury said. "I mean, he's so good at finding a soft spot, so good at those rhythm routes. He and Goff had such great chemistry together, and third downs come to mind. I mean, he has so many big catches on third downs where he's extending the drive. It's hard to replace a guy like that."

At the same time, Kingsbury knows the Rams have younger players "that have flashed" this season and can be worked into the rotation if necessary, such as rookie wide receiver Van Jefferson. Jefferson had four catches for 27 yards in the first meeting between the two teams on Dec. 6, the reception total matching his season-high.

Kingsbury also anticipates McVay being able to adjust accordingly scheme-wise to make up for potential absences.

"With Sean, he's going to fill the void in different ways, different play calls, whether it's more 12-personnel, or bring in the young wide receiver in from Florida," Kingsbury said. "He'll have a great plan."

With Goff out after undergoing thumb surgery this week, it will be John Wolford under center for the Rams against the Cardinals.

Wolford will be making his first NFL start, and while that leaves no regular season film for the Cardinals to study, Kingsbury said they can review his Alliance of American Football film and his college tape to get an idea of what to expect this weekend.

"Knowing Sean, he's going to have things in that play to (Wolford's) strengths and then what he does well and what he's comfortable with," Kingsbury said. "From what I've seen, he can extend plays, very accurate, gets the ball out quick and very smart player. It's going to be a heck of a challenge. We expect him to a really high level, playing in that offense with Sean calling the plays. So we're preparing for their best shot."

Aaron Donald is #3 in Sacks After First Seven Years

After First Seven Years....
Demarcus Ware 99.5 sacks
Reggie White 95.0 sacks
Aaron Donald 85.5 sacks (15 games in 2020)
Derick Thomas 85.0 sacks

DW 384 solo tackles; 96 assted tackles; 127 TFL; 150 QB hits
RW No records until 1994
AD 244 solo tackles; 109 assted tackles; 129 TFL; 199 QB hits.
DT No records until 1994

The names listed with Aaron Donald are magical. White and Thomas are in the NFL HOF and DeMarcus Ware will be soon be eligible in 2022. Aside from the sack numbers, only Ware can be compared exactly to AD over the first 7 years in the NFL and so the magical names of Reggie White and Derrick Thomas are given the benefit of doubt due to their greatness. Donald is better than Ware in assisted tackles, tackles for loss, and QB hits over his first seven years. Only White and Ware have more sacks than AD over the first seven years, but wait. The other three guys are LDE or LBers and didn't work in the heart of the trenches like Aaron Donald has. AD gets double teamed by a Center/Guard or Guard/Tackle combos on almost every play. The LDE's are one-on-one with the less talented Right OT's and a TE/RB. LBers benefit from Olinemen being occupied by the Dline. Although AD is shifting around more often on the Dline, he is normally playing 3 Tech DT.

Aaron Donald needs to keep it up, but I think he is already a HOFer and is just adding to his incredible numbers. He is undoubtedly the best 3 Tech DT in the history of the game. I think if his numbers continue, he will be the best Defensive player to play the game, ever. I include Lawrence Taylor in that group.

Just for giggles, I compared the only other (besides John Randdle, maybe) is Warren Sapp with AD

Warren Sapp 64.5 sacks; 231 solo tackles; 79 aasted tackles; TFL incomplete; QB hits no records until 2006
Aaron Donald 85.5 sacks; 244 solo tackles; 109 assted tackles; 129 TFL; 199 QB hits

The AFC Playoff Picture

The AFC race is going to be awesome week 17...

A 10 win team will miss the playoffs in the AFC... OUCH!

Nobody is talking about Baltimore right now. That’s an under the radar team if you are looking for a dark horse.

Of the 10 win teams... Baltimore, Indy, and Titans have the easiest paths.

Cleveland, Miami... the harder games against Pittsburgh and Buffalo.

Great games to watch at 1pm time slot.

Best Kitchen Gadget

Keeping the "best of" series going here. What are the best kitchen gadgets, appliances that you have had.

I have two that I love.

1-Instant Pot-We have one that doubles as an air fryer and its fucking awesome. Cooks so fast. You can cook food from frozen very fast and still get a nice juicy product. Air frying Pizza Rolls has been a revolution. You can dehydrate and make Jerky or dried fruits. Sous vide as well as sauté and pressure cooking.

2-Pizza Pizzazz-This thing is awesome for frozen pizza lovers...like myself. It cooks from bottom and top while on rotation. Crust is perfectly crispy and cheese is perfectly melted.

Presently NO NFL Team Starts A QB Not Drafted.

Not dicounting some of the backups filling in for the starters, however, no NFL Team Number 1 Signal Caller is an UDFA and many of them are first round picks. Dak Prescott was a 4th round selection, so is Kirk Cousins and besides Tom Brady, he represents the lowest pick of all the starters around the league...The Jaguars had Minshew a 6th round pick and now are rolling with Mike Glennon a third round pick, but soon, Trevor Lawrence will be taking his talents to Jacksonville.

That is why I'm not so hyped about John Wolford, there was a time, it happened with the likes of Kurt Warner & Tony Romo for example, but the present day NFL does not usually showcase a rags to riches signal caller and I'm quite sure little John, will not change the landscape of the National Football League. So IMO, again, if the Rams are to improve in this area, it's going to take a savvy draft choice that puts some pressure on Jared Goff and maybe Goff can reinvent himself in the offseason.

I just finisheed my first bottle of Cheerwine soda and I'm in love. To be clear as a diabetic, I have no business drinking this, but thank God it's insanely expensive at Cracker Barrel and it's not available in stores near me. I saw it featured on a funny YouTube channel as being the best regional soda in the South and I now believe it. I bet there is a corn syrip version in southern supermarkets, but this version I had was made with cane sugar and is the best cherry soda I have ever had. Cane sugar drinks are the best, but are more expensive to make. I love cane sugar coca cola and my favorite drink as a kid was the long neck solid glass bottle of Dr Pepper. I now am in a quandry that this empty bottle of Cheerwine is a nice example of a glass bottle that you rarely see anymore. Do I throw it away? So which is your favorite recent discovery of a soda pop? The poll is about your favorite cane sugar soda.

The Jets game

I am sorry for revisiting this game, but I was just thinking about how big of a blunder that game was. If there ever was an inopportune game for the defense to not play up to their ability, it was that one. Win that and this is a relaxed game ahead and injured players are not a big deal. Technically McVay could have rested starters last week also. Maybe he would have been fighting for first but maybe he'd have thought that two weeks off for some key starters could rejuvenate them for the playoffs and be too valuable to pass up. That game has become so pivotal for the rest of the season.

I have a secret

I know this guy that works with the Rams, so this info is rock solid.

After watching Wolford emulate Wilson and Murray in practices leading up their games, Snead made McVay promise NOT to play Wolford. The fact is, he was just too good and would cast a shadow over the recent deal given Goff.

Unfortunately, their hands are tied now with Goff requiring surgery. WATCH OUT THIS SUNDAY, FELLAS!

Shhhh, you didn't hear it from me...
