I don't know if I just haven't noticed or what. It seems that most of the Ram children are girls. Jefferson's wife I think just gave birth to a boy. I don't know what OBJ's had. Whit has 4 girls, Stafford has 4 girls. Who has boys?
Pretty damn neat. You can really, really tell the team genuinely loves one another. I love the behind the scenes stuff. And love how AD, OBj, and Von were already negotiating with Kroenke. Not sure who the white dude with the gray beard and hair is talking to them.
I love Akers, Henderson, and Michel…who will most likely leave for free agency. Funk is possibly exciting. But…….other than Michel, all of our backs are not durable. It would nice to add a bigger back with some speed and durability. Are there any out there that can be had in the mid rounds of the draft?
"If we bring everybody back, I’m back," Donald told TMZ.com (h/t Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk). "Odell Beckham, Von Miller, we bring them guys back, let’s make it happen."
It is a phrase I have been hearing/reading with regularity and it fits so well with our team! I absolutely love it and hope it fires folks up. I honestly don't remember the term ever used with such regularity (and I'm over 50)! Is this a term that is regularly used or are we coining it as a collective effort to get guys ( and fans!) on the bus?
ESPN has a list of the top 5 qbs in the nfl(based on what I have no idea) and Stafford has moved into the top 5 along with Allen, Herbert, Rodgers and Burrow. Notable in his absence is Mahomes.
Stafford wasn’t in this group til he got a ring which is fine but how are you going to leave out a guy with 2 SB appearances for a guy who has no playoff wins like Herbert. Anyway, I guess we need something to talk about between now and the draft.
I wonder what design it will be?
The below video is slightly older and doesn't include the Super Bowls 54,55, and 56, but gives an idea about what some of the components might be. I really liked the St Louis Rams Super Bowl ring, which used the old logo with the Arch. It seems that the newer Super Bowl rings have added different color gemstones in line with teams colors. I think the Steelers three different colors are striking in their rings. My wife and I like the dark blue and yellow sapphires, which approach the canary yellow and royal blue colors, with multiple clear diamonds. OR, you could do the old skull Ram logo, which is classic in just diamonds.
Since we have two Super Bowl wins now, teams signify that fact with either two large diamonds, or two Lombardi trophies. What concerns me is that the Colts decided to go with a representative Lombardi trophy to signify the first Indianapolis Colts Championship, but ignored the first Baltimore Colts Super Bowl win in the design. I think it would be a shame to ignore the Rams Super Bowl in St Louis in that way. As far as the representation of the two Super Bowl Championships, would you prefer two Lombardi trophies or two large diamonds?
My preference would be the Rams colors in blue and yellow sapphires with two Lombardi trophies, encrusted in diamonds in a background. Not sure if I'd want yellow gold , white gold for the ring itself?
I held off until after the Super Bowl. Now, it's time to jump into the off-season as SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS! Let's repeat! Retire
LT Andrew Whitworth
Extend
QB Matthew Stafford
Restructure
OLB Leonard Floyd
CB Jalen Ramsey
WR Cooper Kupp
Resign
LT Joe Noteboom
OLB Von Miller
WR Odell Beckham Jr.
C Brian Allen
ILB Travin Howard
K Matt Gay
ILB Troy Reeder
QB John Wolford (ERFA)
WR/RS Brandon Powell
Darious Williams and Austin Corbett get offers we can't match. Sony Michel, SJD, and Okoronkwo are also rewarded with solid FA offers that we choose not to match. We bring back Von Miller and OBJ for another go. We should be able to get OBJ on an incentive-heavy one-year deal because of his injury.
Free Agency
OG Rodger Saffold
If the Titans cut him, Rodger might be willing to take a discount to return to the Rams and compete for a Super Bowl. He's nearing the end of his career and doesn't have a ring. He would make up for Corbett leaving. Another name to watch is ILB Jordan Hicks. The Cardinals seem likely to release him to clear a path for first round ILB Zaven Collins to start.
Trades
Rams trade Round 6 Pick #35
Raiders trade CB Amik Robertson and 2023 Round 7 Pick
Robertson fell out of favor in Oakland. With Mayock and Gruden now gone, I'm thinking the Raiders will be even more willing to part ways with him. I liked him a lot as a prospect. He's undersized, but he's physical and sticky in coverage. I'd give him a shot here.
Analysis: Our biggest weakness over the past couple years on defense has been a lack of range and cover skills at ILB. Brian Asamoah is an immediate solution to that problem. At 6'0" 222, Asamoah is a tad undersized, but he fits well with where the modern game is going. He's a speedy, twitched-up athlete who excels in both zone and man coverage. He also possesses the range to play sideline to sideline. He's a violent hitter who will bring the boom. On the negative side, he is quite bad at getting off blocks and can flow too hard, opening up to him being burned by misdirection.
Analysis: At 6'7" 260, Jelani Woods is an absolutely massive man. He spent most of his career as a blocking TE at Oklahoma State, transferring to UVA in his final year. UVA unleashed him as a weapon, and he responded with 44 catches for 598 yards and 8 TDs. Possessing surprising speed and fluidity for such a big man and a punishing running style, Woods proved to be a major threat in the intermediate and deep ranges. But he was especially effective in the red zone due to his massive frame and impressive body control. He's a leggy athlete, which limits his suddenness, and he needs a lot of technical refinement, but he has the size, physicality, and strength to block in line with the athleticism to be a legitimate threat in the passing game.
Analysis: Fortner was Mr. Reliable for Kentucky. He started at Guard for two years there before sliding inside to Center in his final year. At the NFL level, his game translates best to Center, but he's a great fit for what the Rams like in their OLs. He's intelligent, mobile, and very savvy. At 6'4" 302, he's not an overpowering guy in the running game. He wins with angles, agility, and technically sound play. His anchor in pass pro is decent, but he can get pushed back by extremely strong NTs. Fortner also needs to be more consistent with his hand placement, as he tends to catch instead of punch and fires too wide with his hands. All in all, he's an experienced, smart OL who can play all three interior positions and spent the 2021 season playing for McVay protégé Liam Coen.
Analysis: Perry is a very intriguing developmental QB who popped onto my radar with a great performance at the East-West Shrine Game. He won Offensive Player of the Game despite playing on the losing squad, falling just short after rallying his team from down 20+. What makes Perry so intriguing is his physical talent. At 6'2" 212, Perry has a good arm and very good mobility. He's quick and elusive in the pocket with what appears to be 4.6ish wheels. He also has the arm strength to make all the necessary throws and the accuracy to thread the needle. His biggest weakness is decision making. He is too courageous when it comes to challenging tight windows and sometimes misses LBs dropping under routes. That all said, this Ivy League QB offers a lot of upside.
Analysis: In terms of pure talent, Jack Jones is arguably a 3rd round pick. He's undersized at 5'10" 175, but he is an outstanding athlete who has put a lot of great football on film. The problem with him is that he's an older prospect (already 24) who has character concerns (booted from USC back in 2018 due to academic issues and a burglary arrest). Jones started early in his career at USC and flashed major cover skills. At Arizona State, he only built on that over the past two years. He has quick feet, the speed to run with WRs deep, loose hips, and good ball skills. Jones is a natural at mirroring WRs. He's also a willing tackler, despite his lack of size and strength. He offers a skillset that's a lot like Darious Williams's. He's a sticky cover man who might struggle with big, strong WRs. But he's a great value in the 6th round if he stays out of trouble.
Analysis: Ebner is a very intriguing HB prospect. He feels like the sort of guy who will produce out of nowhere after being drafted by Kyle Shanahan. Ebner was the 1B HB to Abram Smith at Baylor this year. But where Ebner really shines is his versatility. He's dynamic in the return game (3 KR TDs over the past 2 years), he's an outstanding pass catcher at all levels of the defense, and he has burner speed. As a runner, Ebner isn't a guy who will grind out yardage between the tackles. He looks most comfortable in the outside zone, using his speed and quick cuts to threaten defenses. His versatility would serve him well here. He offers explosiveness in the return game, and I have no doubt McVay can find ways to use his receiving skills and explosiveness on offense.
Analysis: This is one McVay should consider if he wants to embrace some of what Kyle Shanahan is doing. Ratkovich has some similarities to Kyle Juszcyzk. He's a guy who can operate as a HB, FB, or TE. At 6'1" 231, he's a physical lead blocker, but he's also a solid runner and a gifted receiver. He's capable of playing a H-Back role as a move TE of sorts. He's capable of lead blocking. He's also capable of lining up at HB and grinding out yardage (or playing on 3rd downs as a blocker and reliable receiver). He's basically an offensive weapon. In addition to his versatility on offense, Ratkovich is a guy who will contribute a lot on special teams.
Analysis: Juanyeh Thomas is another guy who popped onto my radar at the East-West Shrine Game. He impressed me with his physicality in the box and reliable tackling on defense. He also looked good on special teams. Georgia Tech used him mostly as a single-high safety, and that's not where he fits in the NFL. He doesn't have the range to play that position, and his angles were poor. He looks much more comfortable in the box and playing as a split safety. He is going to need to improve his angles in the NFL, as he tends to overestimate his speed (he's a good but not great athlete). But he's a physical guy who tackles well on defense and has the athleticism to play in this scheme. But like all late round picks, he should contribute well on special teams.

Wolfy is now a Super Bowl Champ, so who woulda thunk? How long until Rick Harrison from Pawn Stars, owns the ring?
Ok, I am sorta kidding, but all the role players, many of which whose names I don't know, will be getting rings with diamonds, gold and platinum. Assistants, trainers, waterboys, secretaries, etc...may be getting versions of the ring themselves. I am not joking about Rick Harrison owning former player Super Bowl rings, sold by those hard on their luck. I couldn't imagine doing it myself, but I'm also not used to making big @den-the-coach kimda money. So when hard times come, I am not chasing the same lifestyle that one of these guys might feel like they need to have, and then BOOM....Rick gets another ring,
Do you think you could sell a Super Bowl ring that you won if times get hard? For me, I just don't count it as something I would sell, almost under any circumstance. I would just put the possibility out of my mind....
Gail Halvorsen, known as the "Candy Bomber" for dropping off candy to East Berlin via airplane, has passed at 101 years of age. He lived a fantastic life, and he basically dropped off candy and chocolate for kids in East Berlin - no matter the weather. What a man.
Part of the pre-game narrative was that the Bengals were "playing with house money" because nobody expected them to be there. I doubt, though, that the Bengals saw it that way, and I'm certain they are feeling they lost more on Sunday than mere "house money."
I'll tell you who IS playing with house money...
Us!!!!!!!!
How nice is it to go into an offseason with the feeling we have now?
How nice is it to be able to follow, with great interest, the offseason roster and coaching staff maneuverings without anxiety?
How nice is it to look at the draft as pure gravy, rather than a necessity to rebuild or find missing pieces?
How great will it be to enter next season knowing that we have a team that can win it all, rather than worrying that we might not have enough?
We're the ones playing with house money. Everyone else wishes they were us!
Anyone know when some mic'd up or sounds of the game will come out. Usually they come out on Tuesday or Wednesday, but besides the very small clips I can't find anything! I'm jonesing for some mic'd up!!
I just caught this clip this morning and it's so great seeing how happy Aaron Donald is here. He really is living his best life and you can see the joy and relief he has by accomplishing the ring that had eluded him. I've loved seeing all the Mic'd up videos, parade videos, and this and reminds you that these players are people as well. They've reached the ultimate goal of their careers and great to see their personality in celebrating.
Darious Williams presents an interesting dilemma for the Rams.
In 2020, he looked like a rising star at the CB position.
In 2021, he seemed to take a significant step back.
I believe that part of the issue is that he was less of a scheme fit in this year's defense than in the 2020 version but, whatever the reason for his diminished impact, I'd say that the urgency to lock him in long term is greatly reduced. If he is willing to accept a modest deal for a starting CB ($10-12M range), perhaps it would be worth bringing him back. If not...
How about a veteran FA? The Rams apparently have the ability to clear a lot of cap space, so they may be able to afford (in addition to bringing back several in-house UFAs) to sign one outside FA with a price tag in the mid-teens. While that won't buy a top-line CB in his mid-late 20s, it could be enough to pursue a 30+ veteran nearing the end of his career. There are several candidates, including:
Patrick Peterson
Joe Haden
Kyle Fuller
Stephon Gilmore
Xavier Rhodes
Option 3: we could try to find a starter in the middle rounds of the draft.

I think he definitely will and he’s certainly earned it as the successful architect of the ‘Eff them picks’ methodology of roster building.
Probably gonna be a private thing since exec salaries are not made public other than length of contract extensions and the like.
For all we know it’s already happened.
Anyway, I’ve been a Snead fan since ‘12 and since he teamed up with McVay I’ve been a huge Snead honk. The results are no longer deniable. Snead was a HR hire right up there with McVay.
Kupp had a tremendous 4th quarter, well, really a tremendous final drive. I couldn’t be more proud of him, but he didn’t throw those amazing passes to himself.
Meaning that Stafford did a helluva job without other quality weapons as targets and Bengals knew it. Stafford had to operate with obviously no running game as the final minutes ticked on. I submit that few QB’s could have pulled that off under those conditions. Damned few.
Meanwhile, AD had himself a great game and even went into beast mode late in that game. His final 2 plays are now part of Rams legend. Who knows what would have happened without AD making those plays?
Wouldn’t it have been nice to make those 3 guys Co-MVP winners? Too late now, but I would have been most happy with that outcome. I think all 3 players were deserving.
On espn this morning the question was what team should adopt the Rams model of team building?
I thought this was pretty hilarious since only last week this was a unorthodox risky strategy the Rams front office was using which never works in football, except when it’s Tom Brady.
The second question was is it a failure if the Rams stink next year, which is also pretty hilarious.
No one seems to know what to make of this team which is great maybe they’ll get a couple more rings before they figure it out.
