Corbin's bottom of the Bargin Bin Last Mock

Disclaimer: Draft made mostly with PFF's draft mock simulator (coded the best by far) All trades are verified with fair compensation for both trade parties.

I'd like to first point out:

Man I been shocked this off season, not about the trades and releases but the lack of compensation for Jalen Ramsey! Anyways, this mock is geared to fill our roster with starters and quality depth with experience for our target year of 2024.

NFL Draft

Round 2 Pick #36 - O'Cyrus Torrence G Florida -
Pro Day Draft Visit
Login to view embedded media View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wELcYVXpNtI

Screenshot (16).png

Where he wins: Easy power

Torrence makes moving people against their will look like child’s play. He can move defensive tackles off the line with his lower body or torque them out of the hole with his upper body.

What’s his role: Guard

There’s never been a more “guardy” guard prospect. Torrence was built in a lab to play guard.

What can he Improve: Very little

Physical limitations are the biggest thing holding Torrence back at this point. There’s not much else on tape that I’d call a glaring issue.

Round 3 Pick #76 - Jaelyn Duncan LT Maryland

Login to view embedded media View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWp3t6Gx9lc

Screenshot (44).png

Screenshot (59).png

2/11/23: Duncan has a good skill set and improved throughout his college career. For the NFL, he looks like he has starting left tackle potential. Duncan is quick out of his stance and does a nice job of moving his feet to glide with edge rushers. To maintain proper leverage, Duncan bends at the knee and shows the agility to move. Duncan could stand to improve his hand placement, but he has starting skill set of size, athleticism and strength. Duncan had some issues against Ohio State late in the 2022 season, illustrating that he is raw and needs some development, but Duncan is talented with the physical skills to be a starter. At the Senior Bowl, Duncan was uneven in his performance, but he displayed he has a good skill set to work with.

6/27/22: Duncan has been solid for Maryland and received a quality grade from NFL advance scouts. Duncan is a team leader and captain with good size and athleticism. If Duncan does well against top opponents, he could be a riser. Duncan broke into the starting lineup as a redshirt freshman in 2019 and has been a mainstay at left tackle for the Terrapins.

Where he wins: Leverage

Wypler understands line-of-scrimmage play. He’s so good at establishing and re-establishing leverage. His game is what you’d expect from a fifth- or sixth-year player.

What’s his role: Center

Wypler doesn’t have an ideal frame to move to guard. He’s going to be a center at the next level.

What can he Improve: Anchor

This isn’t too surprising considering he’s a third-year player declaring early. One can expect this to improve in the coming years, but it’ll likely still be an issue early on in his NFL career.

Round 3 Pick #97 - Kendre Miller HB TCU -

Login to view embedded media View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQ6SYpjTAZM&t=28s
Login to view embedded media View: https://youtu.be/lfulwX6JdQI?t=314

Where he wins: Flexibility

Miller runs like a world-class slalom skier. He makes it look so easy when he bounces left and right without losing any speed.

What’s his role: Bell cow

Miller has the size, speed and burst to handle a full workload in the league. He did just that for TCU last season.

What can he Improve: Short yardage

Miller still could stand to lower a shoulder and take what is available a little more often. He can get antsy searching for holes even when there’s none to be found.

I can't help but wish...

That Tiger Woods would just retire. You have nothing left to prove on the course Legend you're one of the all time greats. And that was painful and sad to watch him struggle to even walk yesterday. I realize the competitor in him will find this difficult hell that's why he was even out there this weekend. Would love for him to go out on top winning a tournament but not sure we can see him do that physically after yesterday.

Happy Wife....Happy Life??

Thought it could be fun to share some of the wild shit our spouses have made us do.

So about a month ago my wife comes to me and says "I think I really wanna get some chickens."....Naturally....I laugh at her. "We ain't gettin' any GD chickens" I say as I take a rip from my bong.....she kept talking about it. I even said the words..."I'm putting my foot down!" I exclaimed "We are not getting any damn chickens."

Well...u ever be in the middle of a dispute with your spouse and they seem way to fuckin comfortable? Like they aren't even getting upset at all that you are telling them "No"? Well....brothers....I had this moment. I put that foot down and she fuckin laughed.....laughed right the fuck at my face! And kinda does that smart ass grin and shook her head as if to say..."oh yea?"

Then she says something that ended it all....she looks at my fancy bong and my few ounces of smoke..(I keep my shit all nice an seperated in jars in a nice lock box...yea im proud of my shit!)....anyway....she says to me "you spend $4-500 a month on weed. Im getting fuckin chickens. And your building my coop."

Men....when I tell you I was shook....I had only one response...."Okay, but no more than 10. And you gotta give me til Mothers Day." I fell apart like wet newspaper.

Well.....its been a month.....still a month from Mothers Day.....we now have 28 Chickens and 2 ducks. My fat ass was out there building a chicken run 3 days later because she showed up with 3 Barred Rocks!

Here's the crazy part....I fucking LOVE these birds! Turned out to be awesome!

GDT - XFL Week 8 Game Thread

(Placeholder :D)

XFL WEEK 8 SCHEDULE

SATURDAY, April 8
  • Vegas Vipers (2-5) at St. Louis Battlehawks (5-2) — 1 p.m. ET | ESPN, ESPN+
  • Arlington Renegades (3-4) at Orlando Guardians (1-6) — 4 p.m. ET | ESPN, ESPN+
SUNDAY, APRIL 9
  • Houston Roughnecks (4-3) at San Antonio Brahmas (2-5) — 3 p.m. ET | ABC, ESPN+
  • D.C. Defenders (6-1) at Sea Dragons (5-2) — 7 p.m. ET | ESPN2, ESPN+

Vegas Vipers (2-5) at St. Louis Battlehawks (5-2)
Saturday, 1 p.m. ET | ESPN, ESPN+
The Dome at America's Center

The Vipers are coming off a win against the Brahmas last week, led by an unlikely hero in quarterback Jalan McClendon, who made his XFL debut. After throwing only four touchdown passes in his college career at NC State and Baylor, McClendon helped the Vipers to a 26-12 win with two touchdown passes and 261 yards passing. This week, the Vipers will have a rematch against the Battlehawks, who defeated them 29-6 in Week 6. The Battlehawks beat the Roughnecks 24-15 last week behind quarterback AJ McCarron, who has thrown 17 touchdowns, the most in the league, and only four interceptions.

Arlington Renegades (3-4) at Orlando Guardians (1-6)

Saturday, 4 p.m. ET | ESPN, ESPN+
Camping World Stadium

This week's matchup is do-or-die for the Guardians, but if they win, they will have another chance to shake up the playoff picture. The Guardians, led by Dormady, finally broke through in the win column last week. Dormady willed his team to a victory over the Defenders by completing 27 of 34 passes, throwing for 328 yards and three passing touchdowns and rushing for three more scores. His six touchdowns were the most accounted for by one player in a game this season. On the other side, the Renegades are on a two-game losing streak after falling to the Sea Dragons last week.

Houston Roughnecks (4-3) at San Antonio Brahmas (2-5)
Sunday, 3 p.m. ET | ABC, ESPN+
Alamodome

The Roughnecks' season has been a tale of two halves. After starting the season undefeated through Week 4, they are hoping to snap a three-game losing streak against a divisional foe they beat 22-13 in Week 3. The Brahmas are one game behind the Renegades in the South division for second place and two behind the first-place Roughnecks. A win Sunday would put them one game behind the Roughnecks to tighten the playoff race. Their offense will have to step it up, though, as it's scored more than 18 points only once this season.

D.C. Defenders (6-1) at Sea Dragons (5-2)

Sunday, 7 p.m. ET | ESPN2, ESPN+
Lumen Field

This matchup has massive playoff implications in the North division. The Sea Dragons sit at third place, and a win against the Defenders paired with a Battlehawks win would result in a three-way tie for first place. But if they lose, the Sea Dragons will be barred from winning the division since they'd lose the head-to-head tiebreaker with D.C., meaning their only path to the playoffs would be to finish ahead of the Battlehawks. The Defenders were handed their first loss of the season by a winless Guardians team last week, so they're looking to bounce back and keep their divisional lead. If they win, not only will they clinch a playoff spot but they will serve as host of the North Division Championship. In the past four games, the Defenders have allowed 300.5 passing yards per game. That could be a problem against Sea Dragons quarterback Ben DiNucci, who leads the XFL in passing attempts (260) and yards (1,771).

Av’s FINAL 2023 Rams 7 Rd. Mocks (Plan G and Plan E)

I’m always torn as to when to post my final mock drafts for the Rams. We’re 3 weeks away now, so it should be pretty safe to commit and lock in my selections now (reserving the right to make edits if the Rams make a significant pre-draft trade).

My dilemma this year is that I see two paths, which I’ll call Plan G and Plan E. Plan G involves a scenario in which the guy at the top of my draft board, Jahmyr Gibbs, is there at No. 36. If he’s not there, I’d favor going with an Plan E, in which the Rams start by drafting an EDGE rusher.

So, as the little girl in the Old El Paso commercial said… “why not both?”

And, with that, I give you my FINAL 2023 Rams Mock Drafts: Plan G and Plan E (which only impact the first two picks:

Plan G
Round 2(36): Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama
Round 3(69): Keion White, EDGE, Georgia Tech

Plan E
Round 2(36): Will McDonald, EDGE, Iowa State
Round 3(69): Israel Abanikanda, RB, Pittsburgh

Both Plans
Round 3(77): Julius Brents, CB, Kansas State
Round 5(167): Emil Ekiyor, OG, Alabama
Round 5(171): Luke Schoonmaker, TE, Michigan
Round 5(177): Ricky Stromberg, C, Arkansas
Round 6(182): Robert Beal, EDGE, Georgia
Round 6(189): Darrell Luter, Jr., CB, South Alabama
Round 7(223): Byce Baringer, P, Michigan State

WR Allen Robinson's fate looms large over Rams offseason

WR Allen Robinson's fate looms large over Rams offseason

LOS ANGELES -- It was clear from talking to members of the Los Angeles Rams front office and coaching staff at the NFL’s annual league meetings, that the team isn’t sure whether wide receiver Allen Robinson II will still be a Ram at the start of the 2023 season.

Los Angeles has been taking trade calls on Robinson, who is coming off one of the worst seasons of his career. After signing a three-year, $46.5 million contract with two seasons of guaranteed salary last offseason, he totaled just 33 catches for 339 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games, ending up on injured reserve to end 2022 after needing foot surgery.

But because Robinson’s 2023 salary is guaranteed, there’s a chance the receiver is still on the roster to start next season.

If so, Rams head coach Sean McVay said he’s made it clear to Robinson that, “I'm going to pour everything I have in you as a player, try to help you reach your highest potential, make sure that it's an enjoyable experience where you love coming into work.”

General manager Les Snead said McVay and new offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur’s goal this offseason needs to be how to best utilize the receiver.

“We always say what are the superpowers of each player [and how can we] get the most out of them?” Snead said. “ … Probably a lot of times you feel like him being in a role like Cooper [Kupp] could be the most beneficial, but are you going to take one of the two off the field? So now I know now you have to figure out, ‘OK, how do you make that work?’ That would be on Sean and Mike to get that done.”

McVay said he and LaFleur are focused on setting up the foundation of the offense as a whole before focusing on individual players and are still “navigating through” Robinson’s role in the offense.

“You always want to have a vision for your players, but there still is a foundational part of your operation offensively in particular that you want to be able to set,” McVay said, adding that Robinson’s role is “unique” because there were so many moving parts around him last season due to the injuries the Rams dealt with on offense.

“We talked about [quarterback] Matthew [Stafford], we talked about the offensive line, and in so many instances, particularly the receiver position, is relying on those positions to be able to influence and affect the game the way that you want to,” McVay added.

But there’s certainly a chance the Rams can find a team interested in trading for the veteran receiver. At the start of free agency, the Rams let Robinson know that they could see themselves in trade rumors this offseason. Snead said the Rams “let [Robinson] know that we would definitely listen and talk to other teams, but because of his contract situation, it being guaranteed, there is a possibility that he's a Ram on the field in ‘23.”

If the Rams trade Robinson before June 1, they’d incur $11.2 million of dead money in 2023 and save $6.85 million of salary cap space, according to Over the Cap. If the trade takes place after June 1, that dead money number drops to $2.8 million in 2023 and would save Los Angeles $15.25 million of cap space.

The Rams aren’t in any rush, especially because Robinson’s $10 million salary is in line with some of the other receiver deals signed this offseason. The New York Jets signed wide receiver Allen Lazard to a deal with an AAV of $11 million; the Las Vegas Raiders signed wide receiver Jakobi Meyers to a deal with the same annual value. The New England Patriots signed JuJu Smith-Schuster to a deal worth an AAV of $8.5 million per season and former Rams receiver Robert Woods signed a deal with the Houston Texans worth an average of $7.625 million per year.

The Rams believe there could still be interest in the wide receiver, especially as teams re-evaluate their roster after the draft and free agency. Los Angeles is also willing to pay some of Robinson’s salary in a trade, a team source told ESPN, depending on the draft compensation they get in return.

The Rams went away from their typical model by signing Robinson in 2022. He was the only true unrestricted free agent signing the Rams have made since 2018, Snead said, adding that left tackle Andrew Whitworth and wide receiver Robert Woods were the only others since McVay came on board.

Los Angeles relies so heavily on the compensatory pick formula to maintain a roster highlighted by star players and filled out by Day 3 draft picks that they typically do not stray from their mode of not signing star players as unrestricted free agents. The exception was Robinson, who the Rams pivoted to after linebacker Von Miller opted to sign with the Buffalo Bills instead of re-signing with Los Angeles.

And although Robinson’s future in Los Angeles is uncertain, McVay said, “I don't think it's uncomfortable because those are the realities of the situation.”

“If he is here, be excited about it,” McVay said. “And if he's not, then you wish him best in his next stop. And so that's kind of where we're at. If that's where the situation remains, where he's a Ram and we start that offseason program on April 17, I'm looking forward to going to work with him.”

So How MANY Prescription Glasses Do You Own?

For all of us "4 Eye " folks, I am sure that most of us think of the process of getting new eyeglasses as being a chore and not very enjoyable. But since I have not been able to afford new glasses due to having no insurance for years. Well, I finally got excellent insurance with vision benefits and I have been like a kid waiting for Santa Claus on Christmas Eve as a kid. I have needed a new prescription for at least three years. I researched all the different bells and whistles offered: Progressives, UV-400, Anti-Reflective Premium, Photochromatic Grays, and frames brands/shapes. It was while doing researching these options that I realized people bought multiple glasses with the same prescription. WTH?

This made me wonder if I was the only guy that normally bought one pair of glasses. I am not a fancy guy like @Merlin with several kinds of wildly colored frames with blue lenses... But I can't judge Merlin too harshly because I am getting a second pair of no frill bifocals with the lines since they came from a secondary insurance benefit with Aetna. I went from having no health insurance for most of 15 years as an old guy to having two insurance companies trying to give me shyte Pretty wild, eh?

Some have regular glasses, some have reading glasses and some have computer glasses. SOME are fashion dudes with multiple shapes and colors of frames and lenses for different occasions. Fess up. @CGI_Ram !!

Stafford Ready to Roll

Login to view embedded media View: https://twitter.com/RamsNFL/status/1644091861584482305?s=20

In less than two weeks, the Rams are scheduled kick off their offseason program, with Organized Team Activity workouts slated to get underway on May 22.

When it comes to Matthew Stafford's participation, the quarterback will have "no limitations" and be "ready to roll," according to head coach Sean McVay.

The pick(s): Oklahoma OT Anton Harrison (Round 2, No. 36 overall); Tulane LB Dorian Williams (Round 3, No. 69 overall); Iowa State WR Xavier Hutchinson (Round 3, No. 77 overall)

Anyone happy about any of these? Personally, I hate CBS Sports mock. Just absolutely neglect our biggest needs IMO.

7th Round/ Last pick

So we all know the Rams need a lot of help everywhere this year. Hopefully will fill the many needs that we have. I'm curious to see who the Ramsondemand Forum thinks we should get with our last pick of this years draft?

We have found lots of success with UDFA before/ in the past: Cody Davis, Alaric Jackson, (*Nelson Spruce), Bryce Perkins, Mike Hoecht,Christian Roseboom, etc,

So which direction and who do you think the Rams should get? Offensive Line, Deffensive Line, Seconday, Quarterback, Linebacker, etc.

I'll get it started:

I'd like to see either a good OL or DL. Some trench love in the 7th. Or maybe go with a long-term QB backup, IDK

Chris Stoll, LS, Penn State (Longsnappers don't get enough love and the kid is a projected UDFA, by why take the chance, grab him in the 7th).

Dontae Bull, OL, Fresno State (Is a projected top 5 CFL draft pick but I think the Rams could get him in the 7th, very Alaric Jackson like.)

Dorian Thompson-Robinson, QB, UCLA (Could be a good longterm QB option, like Case Keenum was in the past)

All it takes is one good draft...

I'd love to see what the stats were on the average amount of starters that come out of draft classes. I'd bet that it's a lower number than most fans think. That being said, one epic draft class can reset/rejuvenate/catapult a team back into contention pretty quickly - hell, even one just really good one.

Everyone points to Geno being a big reason that the Seahawks bounced back hard last year but they had a pretty great draft class hitting on picks up and down rounds.

The link above shows a good example of what one stellar class (no matter how rare it might be) can go to buttressing a team going forward.

Just look at the Rams 2017 draft class (not the greatest of all time but an A+ class), they got starters in Kupp* and JJ, followed by above average role players Everett, Reynolds and Ebukam. That's a pretty fantastic draft class.

*Kupp not just being a starter, but an all-pro.

Av’s FINAL 2023 Rams Draft Board (Top 40)

Sportsbook Idea - How will our Rams do?

Is it possible to create a Sportsbook event that will allow us to put our money where our mouth/heart is?

We've all been reset to $50K for the new season. What if we have an event where we bet $40K up front (putting us at a disadvantage for the first few weeks), and we get $5K for every Rams win this season? $10K for every playoff win?

Break even point: 8 wins.

I like the underdogs, so if this event can be set up, count me in!

3 sleeper prospects for Rams to target in 2023 NFL Draft - Your Sleepers?

3 sleeper prospects for Rams to target in 2023 NFL Draft

The Los Angeles Rams have spent years trading away picks to win now, so pretty much all their selections in the 2023 NFL draft will have to be NFL draft sleepers. LA doesn’t pick until the early second round (No. 36), but then has two thirds, three fifths, three sixths, and two sevenths. During this Rams draft, here are three NFL draft sleepers to consider at positions of need.

QB Aidan O’Connell, Purdue

Matthew Stafford is the only QB on the Rams roster heading into the 2023 NFL Draft. The 35-year-old is obviously in decline, though, and spent the end of last season out injured. It’s too late to get a new franchise signal-caller on the roster for 2023 (and the organization doesn’t have the draft capital to do it anyway).

That said, general manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay can search out NFL draft sleepers at the position to develop long-term.

Purdue QB Aidan O’Connell is a sleeper the team needs to look at.

O’Connell is 6-foot-3, 212 pounds, so he fits the profile of an NFL QB. He was also a two-year starter with 9,219 passing yards, 65 touchdowns, and 30 interceptions for the Boilermakers. The signal-caller showed excellent accuracy and solid arm strength at the combine, too, hitting 47-of-50 pass attempts (and the three missed were dropped by wide receivers).

The downside of O’Connell is that he’s not Anthony Richardson. In today’s NFL, everyone is looking for the next Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen. They want quarterbacks with rocket arms and who can run like wideouts (or at least nimble tight ends).

Aidan O’Connell doesn’t possess these traits. He is an old-school pocket passer who can move around a little in the pocket, but he’s not beating anyone outside of it.

If anyone can take a real quarterback like this, though, and turn him into a starter without all the athletic bells and whistles, it’s McVay, which is why the Rams should take a fifth-round shot on O’Connell.

EDGE Nick Herbig, Wisconsin

The Rams were 21st in the NFL in sacks last season with 38, and 19.0 of those came from Leonard Floyd (now a free agent), Bobby Wagner (now on the Seattle Seahawks), and Greg Gaines (now on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers).

Los Angeles has a pass-rush problem, and they need to solve some of that in the 2023 NFL Draft by finding at least one (if not more) late-round NFL draft sleepers.

To find a sleeper pass-rusher, you should look for production over athletic traits. Sure, freakish athletes are great and can sometimes become dominant forces. But a player who can get double-digit sacks in a Power Six conference can probably get them in the NFL, too.

Wisconsin defensive end/linebacker Nick Herbig finished sixth in the FBS with 11.0 sacks last season. And the 6-foot-2, 240-pound pass rusher had 9.0 the season before that.

Herbig knows how to rush the passer, and with Aaron Donald taking up a lot of the attention in the middle, he should be able to use his quickness and pass-rush moves to get after opposing QBs.

The Hawaii native needs to get bigger and put on more muscle. He is definitely undersized at just 240 pounds However, like we saw with Haason Reddick on the Philadelphia Eagles, if you put an undersized pass rusher in the right position to succeed, he can dominate in the NFL.

WR Jason Brownlee, Southern Mississippi

Another thing that Matthew Stafford (or Aidan O’Connell) can use this offseason is another wide receiver. Cooper Kupp should get back healthy and go back to being one of the best pass-catcher in the league, but Van Jefferson, Allen Robinson II, and Ben Skowronek haven’t proven to be the true WR2 the Rams need.

The 2023 NFL draft WR class isn’t top-heavy like past classes with Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson, but it is relatively deep, and there should be some NFL draft sleepers in the later rounds.

One way to find a sleeper is to look to smaller school pass-catchers who haven’t gotten the attention that Power Six FBS players have.

Jason Brownlee from Southern Mississippi fits that bill.

Brownlee is 6-foot-2, 198 pounds, with long arms (33 ½ inches) and big hands (9 ¾ inches), he has an excellent catch radius and can pull down balls thrown anywhere near him.

The Mississippi native also knows how to win and dominate his competition. He was part of a JUCO National Championship team in 2018 and a JUCO All-American in 2019. He then caught 135 balls for 2,144 yards and scored 21 touchdowns in three seasons at Southern Miss.

Jason Brownlee might not have been on ESPN much, but he could be at the next level if he outperforms his draft stock.
