Michael Silver tweets on Fish & Goff

It is not Fishers mo to trade away draft picks. Yes Fisher wanted Goff in February, March, April per Silver. Reading between the lines, Silver doesn't say or indicate, Fisher was ready to separate himself from all the draft picks given away to get Goff. In short, management might have said the price is worth paying for overriding Fishers concerns. Also, Jim Thomas from St.Louis Dispatch (whatever you think of him he has some connections to Rams), thinks Fisher lost clout last year and he doesn't have the same say he had before.

Fisher would like to bring on rookies slowly. If he had full say, Goff would not play for 5-6 games at a minimum. Then he will dress him as backup and may be have a start or two. But know everything appears to have been accelerated.

I smell smoke coming from Rams indicating something is cooking.....

Frankly, I don't see what you're seeing. Silver specifically responded to the rumors to call BS. If Fisher didn't want to trade up for Goff, that would make the rumors true. No reason for Silver to respond.

The Rams had to trade away picks to get Goff. Silver confirming that Fisher wanted him the entire time (even before the trade) directly contradicts any rumor that Fisher didn't want Goff and didn't want to trade up for Goff. No need to read between the lines.

It is not Fisher's MO to trade away draft picks? We traded away draft picks for Tavon Austin, LaMarcus Joyner, Mark Barron, and Case Keenum prior to the Goff trade.

David Carr: Difference between Carson Wentz, Jared Goff is the reps

It is a fact that QBs who can run the read option automatically check defenses a bit. It keeps them honest enough that the rook sees less aggressive blitzing and testing of what they know due to the requirement to sustain gap integrity and crush the pocket. Great examples abound that back that up, too. Wilson is the most recognized example, although he is a freak who actually had a veteran grasp of the offense in his rookie year. But Cam Newton is the best example, because he didn't know squat his rookie season.

But the funny thing is that while pocket QBs take longer to develop they have much longer careers. And every bit as much success as their more athletic counterparts. The reason for this is that the ball moving in the air is faster than any player can run, and by extension guys who can think fast and dish that ball quickly to someone in space will consistently hurt defenses AND survive in this league longer.

I would still take Goff over Wentz for that reason. I think Wentz is going to get dinged up a lot, because his play style is physical and aggressive and as a coach you don't want to change that too much because it's who he is. Goff isn't wowing folks now, but it's going to be entertaining to see people reverse course as they start to see what he can do. The key for him is not getting killed right out the gate when he still might be shaky on certain protections in real time.

Rams know honeymoon period won't last in L.A., they've 'got to win

WTF does Demoff mean when he says we "... you shouldn’t have to trade off short-term success for a long-term vision."
Does he have a plan on how to create short-term success? Was that plan rejected? And how "long term" are we talking about? These comments make me laugh, there is no thought in what is said, so why even say it?
must think that the 3-5 year window starts all over again since they are in a new city. awesome.

Todd had 52 yards after contact!

Unfortunately this is what I predicted before this season - as you'll see if you check my post history. Its not all offensive line; its philosophy, play calling, predictability of how our plays are drawn up, the lack of a QB with an arm that scares a defense, receivers who are just not good enough and a head coach who can't figure all this out. We can't run Gurley into a brick wall all day every day for 16 games I don't care how good he is. His career will be wasted. We must start going deep early and often - stretch the defense out and open up the run for Gurley. Otherwise we might as well play Benny Cunnigham until they're tired.

This makes sense. In an ideal world your opponent only has a coin-flip chance of knowing what you are going to do next. The most frustrating play against SF was I believe when the Rams had gotten to about the SF 27 yard line 1st and 10. I was yelling for a play action pass into the end zone but they handed off to Gurley predictably and he got 1 yard.

I'm expecting a more reasonable performance against Seattle but methinks the defense will need to score a TD for us to have a chance.

Fitz tearing it up

It was a question! Was I not clear enough!? And I think that it's difficult for a receiver to get 1000 yards a season when so many passes are being spread around to other Targets!
{ And what is this code you speak mean .." What are nbb u trying to say?":confused:}
aw ok lol yea that's a factor 2 but if I'm not mistaken Britt had 5 catches for like 60 yrs. If he get that or more every game that's 960 at least. There's opportunities wr not taking advantage. Austin's getting the targets but he has drops and no separation. They need to impose a heavy dose of Britt and Quick to open up for Tavon and Gurley

The Clown & Clown Show

Gotta agree they deserve everything they get after that game. But it does p!$$ me off how the guys who are paid to know more than the fans rarely do because they are often not willing to look deeper into what is going on.

But yeah. Keep dumpin on the Rams dudes and hopefully at some point they will eat their words.

Oh Boy!!!

I was almost convinced it was Tavon driving and I wasn't going to be surprised honestly.

Well, that's his lesson on NOT lending expensive items to friends. I sure as fuck wouldn't let a friend borrow a luxury vehicle, especially if I'm a public figure. You just never know what kind of BS will happen.
