A Question Of Balance

Our defense is over rated....but then again, lately we have had guys like Donald and Hayes getting stats in coverage? So the exotic schemes dropping linemen into coverage to cover gaps left in the zone by a blitzing secondary is playing itself out when we don't have all our starters in there to make it more realistic.

Having said that.....even with our defense at full strength, we are alittle over rated.

Rams staying the course - at QB, and on offensive line

The Panthers game may see a little Goff activity..........I still think Fisher is going to bring Goff along like he did with McNair. Maybe he won't wait as long to name him the full time starter but if he starts here and there this year, and gets playing time here and there even in games he doesn't start I'm OK with it.

And I don't think its any reflection on how competent the coaching staff is either. We knew he wasn't going to start right away anyway.

London... with pics!

There is a rumour that there will be 2 games at Wembley next year and two at Twickenham, my preference will be to attend the Wembley games.
The smart money agrees with you. Whilst Twickenham's deal is for 2 or more games over the next 2 years the plan was to hold 4 games in London from now on. With 2 of those games going to Tottenham each year starting in 2018 it would make sense to have both Twickenham games next year with Wembley having 2 games every year. Originally the plan was to have 4 London games by 2016 but the plan was delayed by the last CBA negotiations. 2018 will be the interesting year. Will the NFL schedule more than 4 games or will it be cautious with Tottenham and keep Twickenham as a back-up? Will it try for a game in Germany?

Later edit: I guess much will depend on whether Spurs or Chelsea play their home games at Wembley.

Fisher: Sticking with Keenum

How is that a fact?
Start with his preseason performance...and move to the fact he's not starting despite a woeful performance by Keenum last Sunday. That says enough to me! You and no one else is going to convince me Fisher would rather lose a game than start Goff. Why would he hang his job out there like that?

Meantime you've provided nothing of substance that shows Goff is ready other than saying "he can't do any worse than Keenum".

I can equally say Mannion cant do any worse than Keenum.

Arians-vs-Fisher-coaching-philosophies

Fish is correct in that the Wrs screwed up those plays but who is responsible for those wrs? It's not like they are rookies or are learning a new system. Fisher is responsible not only for these Wrs being on the team but for their play as well.
I find him blaming them in public to protect his QB laughable at best.

Missing my point

The WR's should be held accountable

So, disagree

Jared Goff and Christian Hackenberg

At this point we don't know if we have the next Tom Brady or the next Ryan Leaf in Goff, but with our current coaching staff we most likely have another Brian Quick that will take years to show anything in the NFL.
At this point I have very little expectations for Goff and even though I do not think that Keenum has been terrible, I wish that they would give Mannion a shot to try to save the season. Or at least make it more entertaining!

Fact checking Jeff Fisher: Rams getting the best production out of wr since 2007

That's one of the problems about using statistics to predict results......by using a limited number set, then extrapolating it forward in a linear manner assumes a linear result. Too bad football games and their (results) aren't linear!

Peter King: MMQB - 10/24/16

I disagree with King and all these other folks crying for Goff. If I'm Fisher I stay the course that's laid out for Goff. This is what he said:
What I’ve been saying since day one is we’re going to be patient with him,” coach Jeff Fisher told reporters on Sunday regarding quarterback Jared Goff. “Case [Keenum] is our starter. [Goff is] progressing, he’s getting better. As he said, he’s learning from his mistakes, he doesn’t dwell on them. . . . Case is our starter right now and, again, patience is the word. You can put it in quotes. We’re going to be patient with him.”

How hard is that to understand???
