Carson Wentz hires QB coach Adam Dedeaux to fix mechanics

I can agree with this thinking in general but I will speculate that we can't just assume his mechanics are ideal/fine.

My eyes told me JG's footwork-planting his back foot, drop back steps 3,5,7 combined with ball release point etc.. could use some polishing up with mechanics to fix some of his unnecessary high (off the mark) throws. This might even help with a little zip on some of his throws?

It does makes sense from those that believe Jared doesn't need too many cooks in the kitchen. Now that he has a new QB friendly HC with a veteran NFL QB coach, it might be best to NOT let someone get a hold of him in the off-season before he gets the needed professional quarterback coaching from Olson & McVay.

McVay is an absolute football junkie and likely will be fine tuning/editing and drafting up his new Rams Offensive playbook daily.

As you already know bluecoconuts, (unless it's forbidden by the NFL) McVay probably has given a basic sample of his playbook to Jared so he can pull it up on his Microsoft Surface Pro 4 device and get the gist of the verbiage, formation sets and visual concepts.

I'm not saying not to work on improving, I'm just saying I'm fine with him focusing on learning the playroom first. If he's not doing that, then I hope he's working on improving his mechanics.

Hekker to the pro bowl as the most dominant punter ever?

Yeah. Hecker's a bad ass - no doubt about it! I'm not negative toward Johnny, but I was hoping our second best player behind. AD would be Gurley... or maybe TJ, GRob, Tavon...

That still could very well happen. Todd & Tavon were definitely not schemed right this year, although some of the blame probably falls on them.

I have speculated before on whether Todd actually worked with the Horns' own trainers in this weight loss program he undertook last year. It seems to me that NFL trainers always tended to try to establish the optimal balance to maximize strength & weight without compromising speed, quickness, & overall agility. I personally thought Todd must have done a lot of this on his own, possibly employing non-NFL savvy trainers who steered him wrong. Maybe I am way off-base, but I have never seen an elite RB plummet in effectiveness between two consecutive seasons so drastically. Todd has Eric Dickerson and Marshall Faulk to lean on as mentors, especially Eric who seems to be willing to practically adapt him as a pupil.

Tavon already possesses the electric speed & quickness; so his main issue is synchronizing his mental 'speed & quickness' to his physical attributes. Who better to take advantage of than Isaac. Bruce had that rare ability, like Gale Sayers or Barry Sanders, to make 90-degree cuts at full speed, thereby gaining instant separation. This is one of the things I believed Torry Holt alluded to when he once stated that Isaac could do things he could not do. Tavon has that same rare gift physically, but does he actually think his way through his route running mentally with similar cognitive 'agility?' Can Tavon learn to sell his routes the way Isaac used to, fooling DBs into thinking he is getting the rock, thereby drawing two or more DBs with him and allowing easier match-ups for his teammates? Tavon is a willing blocker. However, is he (or any other Horns' WRs) willing to master blocking to the point where he can regularly achieve multiple pancake blocks in the same game as Isaac used to . . . with a staggering personal best of 14 pancakes blocks in a single game!!! (Remember, weight--wise, Isaac was not much bigger than Tavon at 188 pounds.) Tavon has collected the money, will he put in some serious quality time into mastering his craft so he could approach being as complete a receiver as Isaac was?

I want our 2015 Thunder (Todd) & Lightning (Tavon) dynamic duo back in tip-top form for 2017 & beyond, dammit!!!

GRob was a known project coming in, and I do not know how badly the restrictive NFLPA rules governing coach-player contact time affected his development. I wonder if any coaches pushed him towards seeking outside expert help from early on. You can't draft a player that raw and with so much prodigious potential and essentially leave that player on his own. GRob did not receive good fundamentals at the collegiate level and that would have had to be accounted for in any reasonable development program.

Sportsed's Too Early Mock

I'm good with your 2'nd & first 4'th round picks, the remainder aren't really where i'd go. Keeping Cam Thomas doesn't make much sense to me either. Agree that we need multiple CB's and i'm good with sending Tru down the road. The biggest problem for me is adding 2 more late round OG's that add to our developmental depth but do nothing to add immediate starters for what is the weakest unit on our team. Your 6'th round NT is apparently a Cam Thomas clone, a big wide bodied run stuffer, but Philips prefers quick penetrating disrupters over those massive traditional NT's, I think Brockers is about as big as we're going to see under Wade. Would like to see how you intend to help Phillips with the 3/4 transition at DE & LB, and find more immediate quality starter help on the OL. While Kendricks could be improved upon, his replacement is more of a luxury pick imo, anyway, ... McVay singled him out in his introductory speech, so i'm guessing he gets another season. I'm not gonna mess with Saffold's CAP, the guy isn't really overpaid in my book, and he's taken a beating for this team. jmo.
Keepem coming ...

It's weird reading about Gregg Williams coaching another team.

New Browns defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has high praise for linebacker Jamie Collins, who signed a new deal with the team this week, and thinks the team will be “aggressive” in adding pieces when free agency opens in March.

Williams and the Browns staff are coaching in this week’s Senior Bowl, and in an interview with 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland Williams said Collins is a special talent and an important piece.

“The players want to see that we get it as an organization, as a staff, as a personnel department keeping the best guys,” Williams said. “Unless there are problems off the field, why don’t you work hard to keep your own guys? This is a great message to the locker room. Guys respect Jamie.

I’m a better coach when I have players like that. He may be one of the better players I’ve had a chance to coach for a long time. I can’t wait to get a chance to coach him. I’m so excited about signing him.”

The Browns acquired Collins in a trade with the Patriots just before last season’s trade deadline, and having him signed six weeks before free agency opens is a sign the Browns prioritized keeping him. Thursday, Williams said he expects that to be just the first of a bunch of moves the Browns make in an effort to improve. They also hold the No. 1 pick and No. 12 pick in the first round of this year’s draft.

“One of the things [Browns owner] Jimmy Haslam and [head coach] Hue Jackson and I talked about when we sat and talked about this going into this venture together is we were going to be aggressive not only in scheme but in personnel too,” Williams said. “We have to do a good job in everything from coaching to playing to acquiring personnel and I’d be shocked if we weren’t aggressive in doing that.

“I’ve been very impressed with some of the people doing the evaluations too. We’ll get into that. I really haven’t had much time to get into that so far but we’ll get into that over the next couple of weeks.”

Turning point for Jeff Fisher

Fisher never made a decision regarding McDaniels. McDaniels wasn't let go by the Rams, he chose to go back to New England before Fisher was hired. He was the only assistant not immediately let go under Spags' regime and Demoff brought it up during the press conference announcing Spags' firing how McDaniels was still employed the Rams.

Thanks to all who pointed out I mis-remembered how this all went down. I guess my wife's right about my increasing forgetfulness :)

But my main point was about the time and place where Fisher thought "Crap, this passing offense just gives me the heebee jeebies, let's get back to running!" was the beginning of the end.

I would LOVE to see/hear the conversations between Fisher and Snead about trading up for Tavon, and the impact it would have on this offense. Given, this "offense". I guess I'll have to email Belichick for the hidden camera footage...

Gonzalez: It might be time for Rams to splurge on a No. 1 receiver

Jeffery is going to cost a lot more then Britt you can have Britt for 6-7 million per yr Jeffrey is going to want 13-16 at least no way he takes less then Austin. Resign Britt and draft a guy
I don't think the market is as high on Jeffrey as it was last year , he has been hurt and I think even if he asks for more he is alot better than britt. Britt makes plays but drops alot too. I would not draft a wr we have enough projects on this team and need an established number 1 , I keep britt instead of drafting another wr.
