Our 4th Round Gems Ready To Shine

They hit on Thomas based on his coverage teams contributions alone. For a late round guy to give us a 4 year window of strong coverage play is a win in the draft, anything he does over that is bonus. He'll make the bottom roster spot for that alone IMO.

Coop really needs to step it up. I think he's got a chance with a good coordinator running him and Tavon all over the joint, they're gonna win matchups if the team adds one legit weapon at wideout.

And Higbee of course. The guy really stood out on the practice field to my eye at least in camp, I just can't think he's gonna struggle given the quality of the coaching he's going to get plus a QB who will be looking for him. IMO the stars are aligned for him, just hope he's smart enough to do the work.
I didn't really take into account Thomas' coverage skills. Good point.
I expect both Cooper and Higbee to improve. Rookie WR usually have struggles.....an in better offenses.

49ers release Torrey Smith

I'm not sold on Kayvon Webster. He hasn't had a major role in a few years, and the last time he did, he didn't look good. He might have improved since then, but it's a very risk proposition.
I hear you, but, don't think he's a lost cause just yet, and he's only 26 (I think), would know Phillips' D and would be cheap on a 'prove it' deal. I'd rather get a decent WR and OLer, pick him up and with the draft nice and deep at DB, we should be good for someone decent in the 3rd...

Gonzalez: Rams QB Sean Mannion will probably back up Jared Goff in 2017

. I'm a fan of this Team not Goff
And Goff is the QB of the team. I don't know how to be one and not the other. The team decided to throw all their chips in, and move up to draft their QB of the future. Now they've invested heavily in a staff who is bent on getting him there.
Goff is the future and for Mannion to get a shot, which you are clearly hoping for, requires either an injury or an epic failure. So for me, a fan of the team would not want to have wasted all that draft equity.
So, we'll see how it goes. But clearly the best outcome would involve no other QB taking the field for the Rams than #16.

Adam Schefter Trumaine Johnson to be tagged again

Thats just simply not true. Theres a reason 90% of players hate being tagged. 1 injury could ruin a chance at a long term deal after this season and then hes out millions instead of being up millions from surviving last years tag without injury. Sure, in a perfect world hed play this year out and make that 31m in 2 years and come back next year for a 5 year deal at 12m-14m a year. But thankfully for us its not a perfect world and theres still hope for a long term deal

He couldn't sign that sucker quick enough.

.

T-Hawks Big Moves the Rams need to Make.

I can safely say....that Engram will be a much better offensive weapon than Tanoh...I think Engram will be more valuable than a lot of the receivers in this class...

And I can safely say that Kpassagnon is going to be Julius Peppers-lite when it comes to defense. And we could use depth at the defensive end spot. We currently have Hayes, Sims, and Westbrooks, none of whom fit the current system. Tanoh does.

Best Beer to Drink While Posting Rams info

btw.....I bought a sample bottle of Jagermeister, and I have no idea wtf how to drink it. Any ideas? I mean, while you are thinking and posting great Ram's content, of course!

Keep the Jager in the freezer. You drink that stuff in shots... it's tastes wayyyy better ice cold.

The only thing I've ever tried mixing it with is Red Bull. You still want the Jager ice cold... put a shot of it in a cocktail glass and then put a small amount of Red Bull in with it. It's still a shot (kinda)... it's called a Jager Bomb. It tastes just like Dr Pepper. Very tasty that way... but it will get you wasted as hell if you drink too many.

Post TruJo Franchise CAP hit Mock ...

I'd wait another year if we signed both Garcon & Gordon, prefer not to spend a high draft pick on what would likely be a guy competing for the 4'th WR spot on the depth chart in 2017. Cooper, Spruce & Thomas should get a good look this season. jmo.

We can never have too much receiving talent on this team. We need all the help we can get to find that diamond in the rough. I somewhat agree with you but I feel like, with how deep this draft is, we can afford to spend our #2 pick on a WR that might turn out to be even better than Garcon, Tavon, or Cooper.

Zay Jones, JuJu, Ross... all could be better than what we have now or will get in FA. (thinking long term).

Bonsignore: Rams to put emphasis on fixing offense through free agency, draft

At this point Snead talking about confidently knowing this and that....
Yeah.
I like Snead and that he has had plans and stuck to them. Here is the thing.....the plan (players selected) have to work.
There are young players on
offense that Snead selected. Are those now totally miscast? If so, what a waste of resources.
Are those players fine and the new coach and scheme will taylor to fit them?
Grob, Brown, Havenstein, Wichmann, Higbee, Cunningham, Cooper, Thomas, Spruce.....what's to be of these players? Are they looking to be developed (which would lessen the need for drafting) or replaced?

Rams' TE position

Legget's been known to be lazy and had quite the rep over his first couple seasons to include lack of effort and had that nickname as a result. Not making things up here, it's things the teams are looking at on him. I personally don't want a guy who might quit once he gets paid, and I think the guy's gonna bust for that reason. If, however, the Rams vet him and think that's not an issue, then I'm sure they'll love him and target him in the draft, who knows.

I don't see your response as negative at all btw. Just talkin football right?

@Merlin, I will educate myself on Leggets' previous issues. I was judging him on a couple of games that thought were a good barometer of his play.

Yes, just talkin' football. I was afraid of coming off as a SOB. I was tryin' to stick to the facts :) I enjoy your posts.

Redskins give Jay Gruden two-year extension

Good for Jay, as he's done a great job there. Kind of feel sorry for him though, as I think they might be in for a rough year with all the losses in the staff and incoming at FA, but he's done a great job and deserves it.

As to the name change I agree with @den-the-coach. Not on the name "Bravehearts" but on the need to change the name and turn it into a positive. Lot of ways Snyder could go on it. He could use one of many bad@$$ american indian terms that conjure the right attitude, or he could go with something radically different.

I'm not a touchy feely type of guy with this kind of stuff, but in this case I have a lot of respect for the native peoples and this thing isn't going to go away so why not get ahead of it.
