In 2024, the Rams need three “insurance policies.”

For Stafford, I tell ya who I wouldn’t mind if Wentz were to leave, and it’s not the sexiest name but it’s someone that I think could play winning football if we ever needed him to….Tyrod Taylor. He played well this season for a Giants team that had a poor offensive line and few weapons outside.

I have a close family friend that has worked in the Ravens front office forever, and he’s raved to me about Tyrod Taylor as a backup QB. Tyrod backed up Flacco for a few years and this guy said Tyrod is one of the best teammates he’s ever been around. He’ll always be prepared and be a great veteran presence in the lockerroom.

For Kyren….Kareem Hunt maybe?
always appreciated Tyrod Taylor

Brock Bowers

Looking at Pitts in hindsight he is a wannabe as a wideout and he is weak in the physical requirements of TE. There have been guys who can still be featured in that usage like Gonzalez , but even receiving weapon type TEs need the will to put themselves in it when required. Way I see Pitts is he's a WR talent with great size playing TE but that will is missing.

So I think with the TE position you need to have that will to be physical when required at the very least. Bowers clearly has that stuff. I don't know if he's got attitude problems as we don't get to interview players or their staffs or even loose associates on campus. But just going off his film that dude won't get to 15. And if he does get to 19 there's a good chance he's our pick unless there's some serious attitude issues we are not privy to.

All that aside I can't explain why LaPorta lasted as long as he did in last year's draft. Must be the lack of explosive speed perhaps idk. But either way if anything his success in the NFL will help Bowers out. And Bowers is more physical than LaPorta. He is basically a full TE sized Kupp/Nacua who will move chains and break tackles. You can bet that the Rams love him, again, outside of some red flag BS we don't know about.

Broncos get warning over Russell Wilson situation: Asshole Face 'messed with the wrong guy'

The Bronco suffered from really bad management decisions and Peyton is trying to bail them out. First step is getting rid of Wilson not because of he is not a good player although I feel his skills have diminished to a degree to is his cost to the overall team vs his productivity.

I do not envy Peyton honestly I always questioned why he wanted to go to the Broncos to me it was a knee jerk reaction due to not wanting to sit out another year. Yet that knee jerk reaction put him in this mess. Not to mention no QB, can't draft high enough to get a future QB, in a tough division bc KC will always be looming. Yikes!
Good post

OFFICIAL 2023 season ending thread

Yeah McVay probably expected to do well in the redzone and rightly so. It was the story of the game. But that's football.

It would be nice if they could get more TD passes from outside the redzone. That miss to Kupp was probably one that didn't happen.

Still pissed about it but we still could have won that game if Higs hauls that pass in. But this never was gonna be our year. So it was almost a mercy to get bumped right away.

Sofi SSL's

Is the $8k cost per season or is this a one-off cost to secure the right to purchase those seats each season? I've had season tickets at soccer clubs over here before and the licence thing just isn't something we do... you get first dibs as a season ticket holder at renewal time and if you choose to let them go someone else can buy them. Is this just because demand for season tickets is so high?
One time 8k, ticket cost is every year ofc.

They are used to pay for the stadium that a billionaire paid for already.

Guess this why he’s a billionaire.

Offseason priorities

I know this is going to sound crazy with Kupp & Puka but I'd like a blue chip WR. Somebody with deep speed and size. Tutu is our deep threat and he has great hands but I'd like somebody who can go up and when he does with a DB, comes down with the ball 19 times out of 20. You know, one of those who can get interfered with and still get the ball. Tutu's catch in the Lions game was nice though.

Some Thoughts from Detroit

I don't know why people still hold onto this. If it was true, EVERY team would blitz him relentlessly and he'd fold. This doesn't happen though.

Even if he is rattled, the Lions have a coaching staff that will stay 100% committed to the run to take the pressure off.
he was o for 5 against the blitz in the second half. he can be rattled. In these next games we will see. I don't have the faith. go rams.

A Michael Hoecht appreciation post

I need Dan's @JimY53 help here but I think our D has rules where there are time where we have 5 on the line where it's the OLB's responsibility to drop into coverage. It's a calculated risk at those times.

Its all good.

Wow, look how far the corners are from the LOS in some of these.

Here is some stuff with Fangio/Staley/Morris vs Wade

McVay Presser - Long

So much going into that punt decision. Hated the holding penalty and the PI which screwed up an otherwise very good drive for the potential winning points. But 4th and that long trying to pass could either get ugly with an inc or worse or just a slight possibility of exploiting their D once more (but then not getting another PI call!). Some of us were okay with that punt decision, figuring the Rams had been stopping the run better and could hassle Goff into an inc and force them to punt.

Stetson Bennett placed on NFI Reserve List

I figure that the only way Wentz returns is on a 1 year deal with incentives, and even that seems unlikely IMO
Incentives are only a draw if you've got a chance to play. Look at guys like Mitch Trubisky, Andy Dalton, Marcus Mariota etc. All making 5 mill +
No way Rams are spending that type of cheddar on a QB2
Would love to have him, but the other issue about him not likley staying is that he is an upper Midwest dude who loves hunting/shooting, the outdoors, etc... So I don't see Cali being his cup of tea. Maybe not a big deal, but I am sure he would prefer a more hunter friendly or conservative type state if possible.

20 Random Some Blame, No Shame, Tough Game Thoughts

Sean allows himself to get too one dimensional at times. Kyren Williams was the difference maker in our playoff run, but tonight just 13 touches????? Why make Matt throw one haymaker after another when his RB was averaging 4.7 yards per carry. Would have been nice to eat clock in the first half on long drives while working the body. Whoever suckered us out of running is partly why we lost. KW has a nose for the goal line and great vision…but to Chuck one fade after another looked anemic. I think Sean limited Gurley in his prime to 13 runs too in the first playoff game against the Falcons.
may be McVay will never fix his issues. needs a good 2nd at the helm.
