Can McVay fix the Rams’ offense?

I was just watching some greatest show on turf film. The highlights popped up as suggested.

The way the players were deployed in multiple sets.

The way that there was multiple tight end packages.

The way the full back was used.

Flexed back.

Etc. Etc.

I got chills.
Only one Mike Martz....last good coach we had. If McVay is like Martz...we're in good hands.

Rams Penalty Count Hopefully Improves

How the Penalty Count for the new coaching regime stacks up in their first year might be the difference for getting another win or two.

Jeff Fisher's Rams were consistently bad in the Penalty Rankings.
A crucial area for a football team is to have
discipline. :redcard:

Jeff Fisher Rams 2016
Rank # 3
126 Penalties for 1091 Yards

Jeff Fisher Rams 2015
Rank # 7
122 Penalties for 1007 Yards

Jeff Fisher Rams 2014
Rank # 3
123 Penalties for 1139 Yards

Jeff Fisher Rams 2013
Rank # 2
123 Penalties for 1009 Yards

Jeff Fisher Rams 2012

I have no problem with some penalties, It's the " Stupid" ones that get me, Like 'Lining up Off-sides' or 'Clipping on returns' you know the one's I mean!!
The Old Oakland Raiders use to get Ton's of Penalties, But they where Division Titles and Championship's at the same time!
Again, it's not the Penalties, it's the Type of penalties! JMHO!

Kaepernick headed to Seattle?

:palm: I know if I showed up to work and decided to do my own thing during an organized event, I'd probably get fired. Once NFL players don the uniform on game day, they are basically "on the clock" and are a face of the organization. If the organization and the NFL are fine with a player's actions, the only other group that has influence is the fans unless the government oversteps its authority. I don't think Kap made any major statement. I think he jumped on the bandwagon of what was already going on. He just happens to be afforded a much louder voice than we have. My only problem with such protests is they are often misguided toward the symptoms of a problem rather than the root causes. :wtf::stop::hellno: :sup:(< my little protest group)

All Time Best Ram Safeties

He definitely wasn't the best but Adam Archuleta remains one of my all time favourite Rams. I just loved the way he played the game. One of my favourite ever Ram plays was a fumble recovery where he tackled the guy, stripped the ball without either of them hitting the ground and returned it 90-odd yards for the score. I think it was against Atlanta.

He also memorably dropped an easy game winning pick in the last seconds of a late season game against the Jets though. I'm sure it was an overtime game we ended up winning to sneak into the playoffs. He was wildly inconsistent, but man could he hit.

He's now a pretty good commentator too.

he was one of my favorite rams ..my name on the old original rams forum was ukram31 ..i remember a play where he lit up Todd Heap in the endzone

if it wasnt for the back injury after which he lost a step he could of been one of the best

'Distinct possibility' that Raiders' Vegas move is delayed until 2021

I'm not going to claim they have 60k there for every home game. But being from Nevada and spending time in Vegas and having friends there in Vegas they have a very strong fan base there. Likely the strongest showing of any NFL team.
Maybe? I know there are a ton of Cowboys fans there. There's a fan club there, and they do a Vegas takeover, where people from all over fly in. They'll have players come to sign autographs, etc. A few of my friends went to the strip club when with a few players. Haha

1 And Only JackDRams Mock Draft

Freaking Steelers got Watt and Smith-Schuster, Both of which I wanted for the Rams!!!

True - but these 2 Eastern Washington guys might end up being better players.

Then again Lynn Swan , & Troy Polimonlo were special Steelers from SC.

Reynolds I actually like better than JuJu as well as Copper Kupp who is just a straight up baller.

I think JuJu & Reynolds have a little island blood ? The Rams have a lot of young LBers. It will be very interesting to see what happens.

Kupp/Reynolds Rookie Card Shoot

I thought they got rid of those stupid collars on the jerseys this year

but , I guess not , :fuelfire:

kupp1.jpg

I think they will, as all their photoshops of new players have shown the team in the new Nike template, which removes the toilet seat-style collar they've been wearing.

For whatever reason it seems they haven't had any jerseys manufactured in the new template yet, so all the actual promo photos are using the old Nike-lace collar. It looked dumb on the Oregon Ducks nine years ago and it looks dumb on every team still wearing it today. Seems many NFL teams are ditching that template and the Rams appear to one of them, #rookiepremiere notwithstanding.

Joe Williams... I want to play the Los Angeles Rams

What I've read was she died in his arms in 07 but he said he always carried the burden that it was his fault until he took that "retirement" and got some therapy and properly grieved. whether that was the reason he stepped away, or what he wanted nfl teams to think, idk, but I for one am certainly not gonna sit here and question it nor criticize him for it. to each his own though
Don't doubt or deny any of the possible feelings or motivations he had. My comment was simply about him leaving his team when she died. He wasn't in college then. If he was in a bad place because something triggered his emotions about her death some 6 years later that's a different story. He didn't however leave college when she died.

1981 Los Angeles Rams Highlights.

Not a good year at 6-10 and Georgia starts off in the highlight, but some good stuff and narrated by the master in John Facenda...Ended with Dan Pastorini at Quarterback and led the Rams to pay a high price to get Bert Jones in 1982 while also bringing back Vince Ferragamo from Canada.

Once I skipped past Georgia this turned out to be a really nice video, with some great Highlights! Leroy Irvin was "Smokin'" as a Return man! And Preston Dennard and ALL the Great Rams "D" Players, Not to mention that Great Secondary, with Cromwell, All-Pro this year, and others!
I think everyone will enjoy this, even though, for the 1st time in 9 years, we don't when the Division, and miss the Playoffs!

Ranking the under-30 QB's

Fun thread. Im guessing not many have seen Mariota play, not much love for the dude in these rankings.

1. Wilson
2. Carr
3. Mariota
4. Stafford
5. Luck
6. Newton
7. Cousins
8. Prescott
9. Dalton
10. Tannehill

Definitely a gamer, and definitely better than I expected.

I'm going to be lazy and not rank em all, but my top three are Carr, Mariota and Winston, and in that order.

I wanted us to get Carr so bad.

Dalton and Tannehill are trash. I'd take Kessler above those two.

Beards

I gave in and finally trimmed my grizzly beard back to a 3 guard this morning. However, I did get a pic sent to me this morning that was taken just yesterday. It captured the amazing beauty of that wooly bugger,,, so I thought you guys would enjoy gazing upon it's glory. :snicker:
