Trivia Question of the day for 7/ 5 / 2017

Ok! The correct answer is ....
#1 - the 49er, w/ 4 Consecutive Years leading the League in scoring! (1992-95)
But take Heart, the Following Teams are all Tied for 2nd place with 3 years each:
* L.A. Rams - 3 yrs. 1950-52
* St. Louis Rams - 3 yrs. 1999-2001
* Green Bay - 3 yrs. 1936-38
* Chicago Bears - 3 yrs. 1941-43
* Oakland Raider - 3 yrs. 1967-59
Take comfort in the fact The Cheatriot's are not up there! I only put the name in to see how many " Suckers" would pick them!
This year the Rams will lead the League in scoring again and that will give them 10 years doing it and Tie us for #1 All time with Da Bears!!(y):D

Rams History (Long): 'Best Wishes, George Allen's Daughter'

Great read thanks.

. I remember the firing and rehiring with the Rams. Didn't understand why he got fired being a little young and on the east coast. .

Me too I was only 12 in 78 and I really wanted the Rams to hire the Stanford Head Coach at the time a man by the name of Bill Walsh. Rosenbloom had interviewed Walsh twice, but the Allen attraction was too strong for CR.

I could not understand why you would fire a football coach two games into the preseason, but the players were not in favor of Allen which led to the demise. I also was not in favor of the Malavasi hiring I felt the Rams had settled and truly don't believe Malavasi was ever being strongly considered for the job, but CR had no where else to turn because Malavasi was the only holdover from Knox's staff.

I blame Pat Haden because I know he was not a fan of Allen and campaigned for Malavasi and only wish it was Pat Haden the Rams had traded and not Ron Jaworski.

PFF: The Secret Superstars On Every NFL Roster: Rams - Maurice Alexander

I'm excited at the prospect of Mo and Joyner at the safety positions. I always felt Mo had more upside at SS than T-mac did. I really like Joyner's quickness and aggressiveness. His closing speed on tackles is really good. I can envision him covering sideline to sideline like Earl Thomas.

The only downside I can see is both the safety positions will be guys who are new to their respective positions as far as playing in the NFL. But these guys have good instincts.

Just a few "Links" Rams Fans will Enjoy!!

I'm doing some research, during this slow time, and found these really great Links! You should check them out!!(y):D
The 1st one concerns "Top 10 All-Time" ranked Defenses! The 1975 Rams are Ranked 10th, BUT should be HIGHER!!

Final 53 (Defense)

Could most of us be looking at this CB vs Safety & CB numbers just too traditionally? Could be the lines between all these DB positions will be much more blurry than in the recent past? We have seen the rise of the true hybrid safety/linebacker. Then last season we watched another hybrid safety/corner DB's work their way into prominence.Green Bay had theses type hybrids starting in all their secondary posts when the season concluded. Then there's the “Honey Badger”.

At this point in time we have several DB's who have outside corner coverage experience (college & one in the NFL) who are probably going to be considered safeties or just DB's period. Posted numerous times that the Rams are loaded with very good Nickel & Dime type DB's.

Lamarcus Joyner- College boundary corner, Strong & high safety. has been the Rams slot corner for the last 3 seasons.2nd rd. draft selection.

John Johnson -listed as a Safety. Experience @ boundary corner, high safety & as slot corner.3rd rd draft selection.

Blake Countess -listed as a CB. Experience at CB, S, and nickel at Auburn. Started 2 NFL games for Joyner his rookie season.40-yard 4.48 seconds. Said to be best suited for slot corner. 6th rd. draft selection in 2016.

I also see where all of the above posts exception of mine, have NRC as the slot corner/Nickle? I must have missed something recent in Wades comments & plans ? My understanding was Joyner was going to be the starting high safety in the base D. Wade then said he will utilize Joyner as the main Slot Corner & then fill Joyner's post with another high safety.

NRC was not mentioned by Wade to be his Nickle. I do recall reading that NRC has started over 15 games as the boundary corner posts. Wade is very short on talent @ outside corner & fat with Slotted corners. Can someone get me on the right track here cause I must have fallen off the trail & uninformed to this recent change as to who was to be our Nickel.

Found the article that puts more info on Joyner what position he was playing early.

Fitzgerald and Sherman; 2017 their final season in NFC West?

Fitz is the only non-Ram player that I've ever bought the jersey of. My twins both really liked him when they were both playing WR and they asked for his jersey. If the guy wasn't such a bad ass I would never have purchased his jersey for them.

Side note... I never would have purchased those jerseys in person. I ordered them online. Now that I really think about it... I made the wife order them for me.

Good riddance to Fitz and his cheap ass blocks.

As for Dick Sherman. I will miss burning his ass for more wins over the shecocks. Hopefully he and Seadderall find a way to stay together forever.

I agree though with Fitz he isn't unique in the cheap ass blocking dept. Fitz is money as a WR. Sure wish he was on the Rams. Sherman can go f*** himself.

What are realistic expectations for Jared Goff in Year 2?

My realistic goals for him is to be middle of the pack as far as QBs go this season. So around #15 in qbr. There will still be a lot of growing pains but I expect to see McVay putting him in situations to succeed and to use that rocket arm the way it should be used. But I'm not expecting pro bowl numbers in only his s̶e̶c̶o̶n̶d̶ ̶y̶e̶a̶r̶ first year in a real NFL offensive system. Anything better than that will be bonus and anything worse will be disappointing to me.

Was wondering about Boras.

And I almost forgot his ignorant knee-jerk reaction to switch to a different offense that would not be able to get off the ground without over drafting Tavon Austin and giving up a bunch of picks for him.

Stupid
Desperation
Knee jerk, short-term plans.
Making the plan to switch to that offense and then you just give up on it just as quick.

Fisher needs to apologize doll Rams Fans for being incompetent.

MMQB: 7/3/17 - Chuck Todd

These writers keep trying to chastise fans for not liking Kaepernick's political stance. They need to SFtU already.
Don't tell me what I have to accept. This is the part they all ignore. Kaepernick was never a very likable player, unless you are a Niners fan. It wasn't too many years ago that the douche bag was kissing his bicep whenever he scored a TD, and he tried to trademark it! All while he is changing his culture and changing his speech patterns. He always came across as a phony asshole to me, and his kneeling during the anthem was more phony BS. I am sure he meant it, but it came across as another Kaepernick stunt to me, in the twilight of his fading career. He may have been totally sincere but his prior years smooching his muscles, and getting so wrapped up in his own perceived greatness, makes it difficult for me to take him seriously. His overall persona makes it difficult for me accept having his political views shoved down my throat the same way he was shoved down our throats for the first few years of his career.

And I understand that the message is more important than the sender, but it is easier to take it seriously when it is delivered by someone I respect...not a Gonzo look alike, wearing a clown suit (Niners uniform).

Penalties

One thing about penalties I remember complaining in 1998 about penalties killing the Rams and a good friend pointed out good teams overcome penalties and that is why you don't really pay attention to them....Case in point in 1999 I remember a penalty against the Falcons that back the Rams up with 3rd & 18 they ran a draw to Faulk for 20 yards, bad call forgotten.

Now it seems teams like the Patriots have few penalties, but they also are able to overcome them because of their ability to move the football. Overall I expect the Rams to improve in this area because Fisher's team were notorious for getting a high volume of flags and as @JackDRams so astutely communicated losing Greg Robinson and the fact the officials had him on his radar should also cut down on the amount of flags thrown on the offensive line moving forward.

Inside the Numbers Donald and Beckham Jr Negotiations.

On the one hand, I like to think there's got to be at least a small PR angle for AD to play to shake more cash from the Rams' money tree. Try to rile up the fan base to impact team marketing efforts type of thing.

On the other hand, I can see AD going full Kobe and asking to be traded and saying he's willing to play on Pluto and I can see most of Los Angeles not noticing. Hell, AD could go to the media and mention Ferragamo, Dickerson, and Kevin Greene and say that they're going to do the same to him (say things like: that's the history they don't want to talk about), AD could talk about how Chris Long and Greene were great Rams linemen that had to go elsewhere for a ring and that he might have to go somewhere else too. AD could go full on flamethrower to the media . . . and have the public respond with a collective shrug.

Anyhow, it seems like the sides are still talking to each other and they're not talking to the media. So, all signs good ATM.

Happy Birthday Kurt Warner!

To no one’s surprise, Kurt Warner’s wife, Brenda, will present him at the induction ceremony into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The former Rams, Giants and Cardinals quarterback announced his decision in a video he posted on Twitter.

“Been there for every win and every loss, every touchdown pass and interception, she’s the person who had to sacrifice more than any other so I could chase my dream,” Warner said.

Warner said he also considered his seven children, his parents, former coaches and friends.

Progam Alert!! For Friday June 30th!!

Never forget watching Dickerson.
Yes....I'd consider ED a very lean runner with power as well as speed. You usually only see that build on RB's in high school or pop warner be very successful. First Ram I ever saw in person, up close...It was in a gym in west la....He was performing up-right rows....working those shoulders & traps...with that greasy curl...and thick glasses.
