What's The Competition Look Like at Receiver

http://m.therams.com/s/30854/409?itemUri=40892409/61323254702111271101011414

Check it out guys, my twitter handle is famous!

Ps. yes @Soul Surfer I know I misspelled know, in my tweet.

Ps.ps. It's actually a nice article too, on its own. Giver a gander.
I thought it was Kooper Cuppo_O

Seriously, it will be a make or break for Tavon, in my opinion. Finally an offense, and it will be nice to see him as more than a gimmick, if he's capable. A hell of a gimmick he is though, with other weapons, it can really make him more dangerous.

As far as Thomas goes, and everything we heard already, McVay said in his presser today, that the Rams will stand by him, and support him. Not sure what he got popped by, exactly, but from comments, it seems that it was unfortunate.

I think, based on our new offense, that Thomas is a very valuable piece that may be hard to replace at this juncture. And remember, he is a really good special teamer.

Donald a possible holdout?

He'd be kind of stupid to hold out. He has no leverage. We still have team control for 4 more years if we really want it. He might want to get his rediculously early extension, through respect of the process, instead of crying like a lady man.

I agree, it would be silly.

The Vets aren't scheduled to report until tomorrow! Start your worrying and complaining then! IF HE"S A NO SHOW!

If he called and said "mind if I skip the first couple of days and pull in on Monday morning?" and gets a yes fans are going to melt the interwebz.

I would be surprised if AD holds out. I understand he has out played his contract but the Rams dont have the cap flexibility to get it done before next off season. And he has 2 years left on current deal, which means that sometime in the next 2 years AD will become the highest paid D player in the NFL.

If he continues to improve on the same arc he will get damn near QB money.

NFL Game Pass

Here near Toronto Canada I've had the Sunday Ticket package through my cable provider for many years. Part of a "sports pack" that is now about US$30 per month. I would only subscribe for about 5 months each year, solely to watch the Rams. Last week I was shocked to find out that DAZN ("da zone") has somehow managed to get exclusive rights to the Sunday Ticket package in Canada, so I can no longer get it from my cable provider. I was forced to buy a crappy Google Chromecast dongle for my TV, and now I have to watch the games streamed over my internet connection, which is more dodgy than my cable connection (my internet is not through cable). Progress I guess ...

Julio Jones hires divers to find his lost diamond earring

I'm pretty sure I shared this story last year, but it reminds me of this earring...

We took Warren Sapp out fishing. He had on his Super Bowl ring when we headed out 1st thing in the morning. He took it off all day while fishing though.

When you get back to the dock after a day of fishing offshore... the work ain't over. Sapp is a true fisheman and he was more than happy to wash the boat and deck down. I look over at him scrubbing the deck and it's impossible not to notice that he's wearing his SB ring again. I'm like,,, You sure you wanna be wearing that thing while you're scrubbing the boat? He just laughs and says that he does it all the time.

I'm cleaning fish on the dock right next to the boat... when I hear this extremely load metal ping sound from the boat. Warren's big ass ring has slipped off his finger from all the soap... it flew off and bounced off the deck of the boat making this very loud ping noise. Everyone froze for a minute because we all thought the worst. We just knew it had gone into the drink and that it was somewhere under the boat (about 12 feet under water) and probably gone forever. The sun was almost down. The current is running pretty good. No way we're gonna find that damn thing... at least not that evening.

Next thing I know... Sapp bends down a picks up his ring. It was still on the deck of the boat... but about 10 feet away from the spot where he let it slip off. He cranks the music back up and goes back to washing like nothing happened. I was still kinda in shock. LOL

About 10 minutes later Sapp makes sure to tell me that he has that ring of his "super" insured as he's laughing his ass off. He told me some stories about other players losing their rings and other expensive jewelry... he is prepared for the worst because of that. I bet Julio is too.

Colts GM: Andrew Luck to open training camp on PUP

Who is Luck's backup?
To be honest their backups aren't much to write home about...

Depth chart: Scott Tolzien, Stephen Morris

Maybe they could be higher here, but it's amazing how much the loss of Matt Hasselbeck really stings this depth chart. He filled in for an injured Andrew Luck last year and nearly dragged the Colts to the playoffs. Tolzien started a pair of games when Aaron Rodgers went down for the Packers in 2013 and wasn't terrible, but it says a lot if Green Bay wasn't interested in keeping him around as a safety net for their situation as well.

Bubba's LA sports Radio Rant

is your argument for me being wrong really comparing philly teams to LA teams? Sixers have been in one of the biggest tank jobs ever, and while the Lakers havent been great recently either they are still one of the winning-est franchises in sports and one of the most popular. The phillies seem to be unintentionally trying to 1-up the sixers tank job, while the Dodgers are one of the best teams in the league. and I dont follow much hockey but im pretty sure the kings have won a few stanley cups recently while the flyers got one of the top picks in the draft.

Not saying the Eagles wouldnt be the most talked about team even if every philly team but the eagles were really good, but I can bet there wouldnt be nearly as much eagles talk as there is right now. Main reason being Eagles are the most popular team in philly, while the lakers are the most popular team in LA, which is why you get a lot of NBA talk, especially with there being actual games being played recently where as the NFL is on basically a month long break.

Lakers more popular than rams
Summer league just happened, and free agency/draft was about a month ago
NFL on month long break, and free agency/draft was 3+ months ago

I dont live in LA, but im sure in late august-november there are people like you that love the nba/lakers and could careless about nfl/rams and will be complaining all the radio stations are talking about is the rams/nfl

Im just not sure what you expect them to talk about rams wise. Nothing new has happened since basically OTAs. anything that has been said was likely already said and it would be dumb to keep talking about the same thing over and over

I am merely blowing up your St Louis-is-small-with-nothing-else-to-do-but-talk-Ram's, argument that you were making with bnw. Philly is not small, and they are high on the Sixers....Even so, they love the Eagles most of all, which is true. The point was that it is a major metropolitan area, within a megalopolis in the North East corridor....with many interests aside from sports, yet they talk about the Eagles as much as St Louis ever talked about the Rams. The Cardinals are the first love in the city, every bit as much or even more than Los Angeles loves the Lakers, yet the Rams station talked Rams through most of the year, because they loved the team. ESPNLA is shyte because they freakin hate the Rams (screw them).

Size of the city doesn't matter, love of the team does.

btw...I am speaking of the on-air personalities being shyte in LA, not the fans.

David Carr:I don't believe he's quite ready to take it to the next level.

Last season brought zero bragging rights for Goff and left a lot of questions on the table. Can he be better? Sure, because what will help him the most is taking a majority of the snaps with the no. 1's during training camp.

He has to get better at his pre-snap reads, and he has to be a lot better at getting the ball out faster - which means developing the trust in his receivers. Knowing the routes/timing is something that will develop over the course of training camp. After about two weeks everyone will have a better understanding of where he stands.

If I were writing this article I would not have put Goff on the potential "break-out qb" list either. He showed nothing last year that would/should warrant that type of praise. The biggest thing he has going for him this year is that Jeff Fisher isn't with the Rams anymore. Fisher was never able to develop a good quarterback ( and yes, I mean McNair too - completely over rated imo).

The one thing that should help Goff immensely is a re-established running game. If the reworked O-Line can help Gurley get back to his rookie form, that will take the pressure off Goff so he doesnt have to do "everything". It will be interesting to see how everything falls into place for LA this season.

The Falcons have a cool video board in new stadium

Didn't want to start a new thread for this but a small setback for the stadium. It will still open on time it seems but not at it's full functionality.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ium-roof-will-remain-closed-indefinitely/amp/

ap_17206672321652-e1501041453853.jpg

Last month, the roof at the new Falcons stadium successfully closed. Next month, it may stay that way for a while.

Via Tim Tucker of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, AMB Group CEO Steve Cannon said Tuesday that the roof will be closed when the stadium opens next month, and that it will remain closed “for an undetermined period of time” thereafter. Cannon blamed the inability to fully mechanize the roof on construction delays.

As a result, Cannon said the roof will be closed both for the preseason home opener on August 26 and the regular-season home opener on September 17.

That conflicts with something Falcons president and CEO Rich McKay said in May on PFT Live. At the time, McKay said the roof will be fully operational from the moment the stadium opens.

I think that board looks like crap. Understand why they did it that way, what with the lack of ceiling height to install a straight board, but it's too small of a circumference for the surrounding stadium IMO. They would have been better served with two long ones canted at a downward angle and a couple shorter ones for the end zone. And it would probably be cheaper than the curved ones too.

As to the Rams' oculus, gonna reserve judgment for when I see it actually built. In the conception drawing it looks like it runs out in a great enough circumference where we won't feel like we're trying to view the inside of a toilet bowl like Atlanta's, but until I see it not going to make any assumptions.
