So what have we learned about the Cowboys tonight

Just watched the Cardinals game again. You can watch the condensed version on nflfullhd.
One thing I noticed was that even though their secondary is young, I didn't see many mistakes by them. I wanted to think that this would be something we could exploit but I'm not so sure. I think size is going to be a factor and think our taller receiver will have a good game. Their corners are good at run support. They had a really good run defense against the cardinals.
Sean Lee looked really good. Always at the right spot. They'll miss him if he doesn't play.

Their offense looked just okay. If they play like they did against the cardinals, I would think we have a good chance of winning. They had 3 or 4 really big plays and nothing much otherwise. Dak Prescott is really accurate on the run and elusive like Carson Wentz. I have a feeling I'm going to be yelling at the screen when we miss tackles on him. Gotta wrap up and tackle really well.

Sunday Game Day

Titans coach Mike Mularkey took issue with that this week, saying that he’d like to see a rule change that left the penalty against Sherman in place while the other calls offset.

I agree. That was almost as dumb as the rams having to start a drive on their 2 yard line after a skins player personally fouled a rams player during a kick return. Btw, why didn't the rams decline that penalty? Is it not allowed?

NFL Attendance articles

Another Thursday Nite disaster. Seats went empty after the 1st qtr, I bet viewers tuned out too. NFL is unraveling before our eyes. So many things happening at once, none of them attracting viewers. Quite the opposite.

The most glaring, the crappy play and horrible officiating on the field.

NFL front office better start getting a clue and do something to improve their product and rule changes are not the answer.
Well there was that lightning storm that helped clear the crowd

Penalties?

Its the game changing penalties that are down. 3rd and short and getting a 1st, called back for an illeagel procedure or holding are drive killers could be a cause to lose a game. They need to limit those.

Defense commiting 15 yd penalties on opposing team's 3rd and long, giving them a new set of downs. Rams D gave up 2 of those vs Skins, 2 vs 48er's. Those are game killers.

Vinny On Rams OL Turnaround

I spent a lot of time watching Whitworth against the 49ers, and man, he just locks his guy up and gives away nothing. It was hopeless for their pass rush on that side of the line.

Just to get this out of the way first for perspective: I hated the GRob pick, didn't like him as a player, and was ecstatic when Whitworth was brought in to replace him.

Watching Whitworth so far, I've seen numerous times he gets away with stuff that I'm sure would have gotten Robinson called for holding. I think it's a reputation thing, both good and bad. Maybe it's also like pitch framing in baseball. You just have to do it in a way that makes the refs see a good block. In the last few years I've grown tired of other teams getting all the calls on the line. I'm glad we've finally got a guy who gets them.

Factors that make this a huge game for Rams

There are many story lines here. And I too am worried about the outcome. But in all serious, I could care less if the national media does or does not give us respect. They don't truly figure into the equation. This is going to simply be the Rams vs. the Cowboys for top tier positioning in each individual division and possibly maybe playoff ramifications if we both take care of our business from here on out. We still have some growing to do and a big win over the Chowboys would show we are ahead of our curve. But every week we will have these tests to pass. We simply have to play mistake free football, control the clock and slow down the other team's offense when on defense. Storylines aside....it really is that simple. That been said...we do have a large test in front of us. And I'll be the loudest guy in the room if we pass it....... Go Rams!

PSU vs Iowa

I hope you are right. I see some exploitable flaws with this PSU team this year. They really miss Godwin as a deep jump ball threat. The line has been inconsistent and McSorley has not been particularly accurate. Linebackers are still a weak point too.

Iowa kept them out of the end zone in typical Paterno fashion playing bend but don't break defense. Give up the underneath stuff and take away the deep ball. It worked great. I imagine other teams may try the same strategy. I hope they get their crap together by the time Michigan rolls around.

From what I have seen from OSU on defense so far this year, playing Barkley gives me the same feeling as the Rams playing Zeke this week....terrifying.

I would not be surprised if PSU vs. OSU this year looks a lot like OSU vs. Michigan last year, IF OSU can even hang.

Have to hope that we continue to grow and get better these next few weeks to have a shot against Penn State....

(BTW...has to feel good to see an Ohio State fan say that after the last few rocky years..)
