Who killed my Drive: Jags edition

9. 3rd and 20 - Incomplete to Woods. Everett Hold and Tavon 6 yard loss put us in unmanageable. Rams make safe throw. Some knock Goff for the throw or Woods with the catch. I think it was too low and put this one on Goff. But that is a tough 3rd and 20 throw. I'm knocking Everett for the 10 yard Holding penalty that put us in this position.

Woods slips on this route and the ball bounces off his helmet. I disagree with your assessment. Not much you can do here. Field conditions. EXCELLENT clutch throw by Goff to the sticks. The throw was exactly where it needed to be. Protected the receiver. 18 inches off the deck. Beautiful.

I'll give Woods a pass with the slip because he made a few other clutch first downs.

The one thing I will criticize Woods for is his decision on the fumble to cut back after the catch, rather than continue his momentum with nobody within 5yards of him. He would have picked up another 10 yards.

Wade's 34 "D" tied for second in NFL sacks behind Jags who are #1.

Los Ramos lead the NFL in QB hits by a wide margin with 44. Aaron Donald leads the NFL in QB pressures also. Sacks are just one number.

Barwin took a few weeks, but I thought he's looked pretty solid the past few games.

NFL Week 6 Sunday Standouts: Defense
BY GORDON MCGUINNESS

DI Aaron Donald, Los Angeles Rams, 91.8 overall grade
Provided the Los Angeles Rams play on a Sunday, it seems a safe bet to assume Aaron Donald will make an appearance among the Sunday standouts. Utterly dominant as an interior pass rusher once again, Donald registered two sacks, two hits and six hurries from 40 pass rushing snaps, good for a pass rushing productivity rating of 20.0, which leads all players on the defensive interior this week.

Donald IS actually making a difference the last two weeks. He's contributing in the 3-4 even more than in the 4-3 it seems..........maybe I'm wrong but it sure seems like it.

@bubbaramfan you are correct........the OL is coming together nicely and has really allowed Goff time to scan the field..........and also look defenders off which has resulted in some big plays.

Peter King - MMQB - 10/16/17

Why do you put yourself through it? Everyone knows where to go if they want to read his crap. You work hard enough as it is. Put your feet up and relax.

The other day I'm outside this auto parts store and this guy is checking my battery and alternator. There's the sound of crunching metal as three cars smack into each other. Along comes the police cars and ambulances. Neither of us could take our eyes off of what was happening. Peter King and Mike Florio of PFT are like that.

I'm waiting for PK to check himself into rehab and Florio to finally admit he's been trolling his site the whole time to get clicks. I'm a disturbed individual. But I guess you knew that already.

Why can’t we hang on to the ball?

Don’t think that Tavon gets that PR job back, Corbin. Ever.

Where has McVay demonstrated a willingness to tolerate mediocrity in his players? If so, I sure missed it.

Tavon has a mere 10 remaining games to impress the hell out of McVay.
Injuries happen bro and they open doors back up.

I will admit he has dug himself into a hole and deservedly so.

As far mediocrity I consider Michael Thomas suspension a sign of mediocrity and he was given a chance with our existing talent at WR. Thinking Tavon will have some important role to play in this season come weeks 11-17 somehow to secure our playoff run!

Lions bench Greg Robinson

Sorry but totally disagree about JJ. In two games he's been great in run support, as a rookie with so little experience he's been better at SS than anybody we've seen in a while.
No reason to be sorry....I totally get it....his instincts at the FREE SAFETY position are unique....Better than what we've had there...if he's playing SS....I think he's out of position...He'll be in position to make big plays...huge hits and tackles...then wiffs. I just saw a couple plays...where he just misses tackles. I think he intentionally didn't run in an hit Fournette on that TD run...
Which goes with my premise...DB's are coverage guys....but they MUST tackle...they are often the last line of defense. If we have a safety that can't tackle...it makes us weak up the middle. The worst place to be soft.

NFL week 6 panic meter

I'm not sure if I'm offended or like the idea that the Rams are under the radar for the most part. I feel like the Rams don't get respect. We destroy Colts, "but they didn't have Luck". Beat the 49ers, "but they almost lost, and it was to the winless 49ers". Beat the Cowboys, "but they aren't as good as they were last year". Beat the Jaguars, "but they're the Jags and are overrated". If only Kupp could have held onto that catch for the win against the Seahags, maybe there would be a different narrative. I personally love what our team is doing. Yes, we can improve the fumbling issues, and the missed tackles, but we're doing so well I feel like.

The Gee Whiz is Gone

den, I'm stressing too. Every time the other team punts I have to hold my breath. Still, another muffed punt. Pharroh got lucky and recovered it. That could have been a game changer for Jax had they recovered.

Almost every game this season the Rams have muffed a punt. It has to stop.

It's weird too, last couple seasons TA has been pretty sure handed on punt returns. I'd still rather have him than coop returning punts. I'd love Kupp to return some punts but i wouldn't want him to get hurt.

Special Birthday!!

He had 7 Solo Tackles / 1 Sack / 3 Tackles foe Loss and a QB Hit!! Happy Belated Birthday Connor, and THANK YOU for your effort!!!(y)(y):D
7 solo tackles????
That's it Dave...I'm about to go watch the 2nd half...

Awesome game for the old timer....

Thought Fox, Brockers and Donald were the keys to stopping Fournette....

Longacre & Samson are 2018 starters...

Mark Barron is a grown assed man.....
