TNF: Saints@Falcons

You cant overcome a penalty that ends the game.

True. He should've stayed on the sidelines then.

Coaches have been running on the field to call time outs since the game has been played.

Really? I never noticed that.

Crying? No crying here. The game is unwatchable with the inconsistency of these calls and replay hasnt helped.
I dont even care that the Saints loss, I hate the Saints. But if that happened to the Rams?

What Asshole Face did is against the rules:

Article 1 There shall be no unsportsmanlike conduct by a substitute, coach, attendant, or any other non- player (entitled to sit on a team’s bench) during any period or timeout (including between halves).

RESTRICTED AREAS Article 4 All team personnel must observe the zone restrictions applicable to the bench area and the border rimming the playing field. The only persons permitted within the solid six-foot white border (1-1) while play is in progress on the field are game officials. For reasons involving the safety of participating players whose actions may carry them out of bounds, officials’ unobstructed coverage of the game, and spectators’ sightlines to the field, the border rules must be observed by all coaches and players in the bench area. Violators are subject to penalty by the officials.

Article 8 Non-player personnel of a club (e.g., management personnel, coaches, trainers, equipment men) are prohibited from making unnecessary physical contact with or directing abusive, threatening, or insulting language or gestures at opponents, game officials, or representatives of the League. Penalty: Loss of 15 yards. (Unsportsmanlike Conduct.) Enforcement is from: a) the succeeding spot if the ball is dead; b) the previous spot if the ball was in play; or c) whatever spot the Referee, after consulting with the crew, deems equitable. (Palpably Unfair Act.) Note: Violations which occur before or during the game may result in disqualification in addition to the yardage penalty. Any violation at the game site on the day of the game, including postgame, may result in discipline by the Commissioner.

Ref MIGHT have waived it off if he didn't say w/e is he did. But Asshole Face did, and he got the call.

If it had been with the Rams, I'd be ticked and annoyed at Sean McVay for acting like a buffon. Fortunately, Sean McVay is able to hold his composure.

In late stretch, Rams will rely on playoff-tested veterans like Andrew Whitworth

“Tremendous football team. They’re great in every aspect of the game,” Whitworth said. “Much like the Minnesota game and the Saints game, this is a playoff game. It’s one of those games where, every little tiny play can affect the game, because both teams are that good.”

If the Rams are in the playoffs when all is said and done, I think this grueling stretch of games will have served as a great prep for what they're going to face.

It's amazing to be sitting where we are now, whatever happens from here. This has been a season for the ages for Rams fans and it ain't over yet.

A few things that I noticed while re-watching the Card game...

Samson was a 4.45? That is quite burst! Wow, well he ain't using it just yet, but I can see some burst....I like him a lot. I think we just need to replace Quinn.
Barwin....I think this has been Quinn's best year since 2014.....finally may have 50 tackles on a season....much better vs the run. Figuring out how to get to the passer....

Personally, I'd keep every defender possible....includes Tru....Webster...NRC...Joyner (barely made it)....hell, I want Cody Davis to return....

I'd find some backup corners to replace #36, Hill, and.....and....who else do we have back there?

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (10-2) at RAMS (9-3)

Sunday, 1:15 p.m.

TV: Channel 11. DirecTV: 716.

Line: Rams by 2. O/U: 48.

It doesn’t help the Rams that Philadelphia lost at Seattle. The Eagles are bound to regroup. Jared Goff has struggled against really good defenses, and the Eagles can bring the heat up front.

Los Angeles Rams
This may sound oversimplified, but I just can't see the Eagles -- NFL leaders in point margin -- losing two consecutive games. These teams are very evenly matched in all three phases. But the Rams' defense has had a hard time against quarterbacks such as Wentz who can make plays outside the pocket (see: Keenum, Case).

And the Eagles' defense is good against the run, which probably means Goff will throw the ball a lot on Sunday. He's had a lot of those lately. The Rams will be at home, but Eagles fans travel well. The Rams also haven't had an ideal practice schedule this week. They were forced into a walk-through on Wednesday and battled fierce winds while in pads on Thursday. It all counts in a close game like this. Eagles 24, Rams 21 -- Alden Gonzalez

The fires in Southern California

The Kagel Canyon home I owned and lived in for 27 years is in the heart of the Creek Fire. I sold the property to my next door neighbor in 2001 after it burnt down. It's quite beautiful there in the southern Angeles National Forest area, although I had to rebuild twice, once after a girlfriends son accidentally set another fire, then again following the Northridge earthquake. I was too tired to do it again. K.C. is a great little neighborhood of about 170 homes tucked away in a mountain/forest setting which has a creek running down the middle of it, ... hoping everyone is safe tonight.

Posted by Michael David Smith on December 7, 2017, 8:15 PM EST

The NFL has named 32 finalists for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, which recognizes players for their contributions both on the field and in their communities.

Cool video. Our boy is still growing and will only get better. Pretty damn exciting times to be a Ram fan.

Something everyone should Review!!

Nice post @DaveFan'51. (y)

Been tracking our stats week to week as we've gone forward. Defense has improved for the most part, although of late (last 3 games) they're giving up a bit more than I'd like to see (20ppg). But overall we're still under that 19ppg mark (18.5 T-7th with Seattle), so we're in a really good spot. Also of note is that our defense has been more stout at home (15.8 allowed at home vs 20.4 away). That's clearly due to strength of opposing offenses, but still that's a big split. Oh and for reference last year's defense gave up 24.6 ppg overall which was horrific when coupled with our offense.

Offensively we're T-1st at 30.1 ppg with Philly. Last 3 games have been rough on the offense as well (21.7). Last year's offense was at 14.0 ppg. Which is insane. I doubt any team has had that one-year turnaround in league history greater than what this team is currently pacing at. Once the season's over we'll know for sure, but man. What a difference.

And quick note on this Eagles team... They're averaging 25.2 ppg away in scoring offense, and 20.7 ppg away in scoring defense.

Celebration Thread: Rams @ Cardinals

I actually have a different take on alcohol...

I think they should make it affordable INSIDE the stadium and not allow alcohol in tailgates.

That way, people could buy beer, but they wouldn't enter the stadium toasted (with the current limits, even if it were affordable, you don't wanna miss the game for beers, although some alcoholics will miss anything for a sip of sterno...).

I mean, if anyone NEEDS to drink beer or hard liquor at 9-10 am and they didn't just finish a nightshift at the ER... then something's just wrong that football can't fix.
Mac, first time in Az.....first Rams game since....maybe 1990....this is maybe 2011 or 2010...I'm in the parking lot fans drinking everywhere...I go in early....wanted to see pregame stuff....people that sit next to me arrive at the end of the first quarter...LIT!!!!! And I mean women in there 50's or 60's.....LIT....drunker than shit....wearing Cards red....talking about the tailgating....I got to the game around 11:30....and everyone was drinking....These women next to me said they arrived at 9am...and had been drinking....LOL....I know they left early too...after a JJ pick 6...think it was his 2nd of the game....Where were they going??? Back to the lot to finish eating and drinking....it's insane....

but I'm not one to end a tradition just cause I'm new or don't understand it....but damn...if this is older women....what the hell do the kids do????
