Business owners/managers need advice please.

Hey guys, I'm just creating my own LLC and wanting to pick your brains of any of you which seem to be older(not a bad thing), wiser, and have experiences compared to myself. I'm not that ignorant to know that their is people out there that have been through some things before that I can use their advice to help me get through that obstacle without going balls deep in it before it's to late.

I've seen a lot of your posts and I see several of you own(ed) a business or managed one at some point. So technically the combined experience on this board is a potential wealth of knowledge and wisdom.

Anyways, for 4+ years I been sitting on the sideline watching the crypto markets learning trends, discovering the technology differences etc, mining networks, and trading as a novice etc. Made a handful of money but I've been able to predict a lot of the trends and alt cryptos that can be used to make money with. Needless to say I would have done very well if I just followed my heart and head and got into it years ago. I have many years of managerial experience in multiple industries and decided to go full force in IT( Info. Tech), Cyber Security, and C.S. in school once again.

Anybody else in similar fields? Experience? Interests? Advice starting a business/LLC? etc?

Do you have any advice on no no's or pitfalls you wish you knew 10, 20,30,40 years ago that you know now?
sent you a pm

The Rams are not currently negotiating with Watkins or Joyner...

I love woods and Kupp but without a Sammy or a true number one, they cannot be running open all over the field. Watkins has to be brought back or someone like Richardson or my dream as you all know Allen Robinson. Yes this offense spreads the ball but you have to have a legit 1a to have it run smoothly maybe you can get away with a 1b but who is a 1b only dude I can think of with potential and with pieces around him is Richardson.

Talib wants to be released so he can join either the Rams or Patriots

and that is why sam bradford refused to take a pay cut before they traded him.

can't believe the amount of flak he took for that.

.
I don't think we were looking for him to take a substantial cut or trade him if he did. As a veteran his entire salary, ($12M+), would have become guaranteed at Week 1. I believe our position was to keep him if he
altered his guaranteed amount and take the rest as roster bonuses. My memory could very well be faulty here.

For what it's worth I was in the trade/cut him camp if he didn't stuck to having all his money guaranteed at Week 1, (or if he had gotten injured again in camp). I didn't blame him for sticking to his contract but I was delighted to have his contract off our books when the trade was announced. I liked Bradford but at that point I didn't like the risk/reward.

Alden on everything Rams (Trades, draft, etc...)

I think Harold Landry is very much in play.

His film is reminiscent of Von Miller and he plays the front side like Miller.

I would love to get Landry but I'm worried he'll go higher than any of use expect. The only thing helping us there is scheme fit as he's really more a 3-4 outside LB or Leo in the 4-3 and some teams will think he's a tweener.

Six 6th Rounders?

Personally, I think Les needs to trade around until we are down to three 6th rounders. Bruce Dickinson agrees:

If not, he should try to get seven 7th rounders ...

anytime we can work in Maiden on a thead, I'm all in!

With CB taken care of....

....any chance McVay intends to continue to fix D with FA, and then be in position to possibly move up a few spots to take his future LT in McGlinchy even if it means a red shirt year behind Whitworth. Probably would make McGlinchy a better player learning for a season behind Whitworth. Both are similar in stature and skill set. And McVay knows how important having a franchise LT to pair up with his young QB would be.

I'd be cool with that. I haven't done the research, but I'm assuming most of the good LTs were high-ish draft picks? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I think the idea of "coaching up 6th rounders", while nice in theory, probably doesn't work all that well in reality. Sure, coaching helps - but you gotta have talent too.

So drafting our future LT in the first round - even though we have other needs - would be okay by me. He can be first off the bench as a guard, or RT, if need be, all while learning behind Whitworth.

cap savings

I agree with train, I think there’s a strong chance Barron won’t be back. Coming off injury, undersized, overpriced. Everything about this offseason so far screams, “If you aren’t a great fit for Wade’s 3-4, you are gone.”

IMHO I’d be happy if Barron stays or if he’s cut. Either way, I’m all-in for Mr. Snead’s Wild Ride

Going All Out for Wade?

Next up--Linebackers. And I bet Les goes all out here for Wade too.

Here I thought I'd have sit and wait for months before any real Rams action. Rams didn't wait long to get busy. Last off season it was the Offense. Now its defense.

Rams not phucking around. They think they are only a few players away from winning it all and I hope they're right.

Would you endorse moving up in the first and for what price?

I don't think there is anyone on the board that I'd give up a huge amount to move up and grab. Sure, I'd be happy to have Vea, Smith, Edmunds but not at the huge cost it would take. Honestly, I think Landry, Payne, Davenport, Alexander, Jackson are all good picks at #23, and we retain our draft capital. Honestly, I'd be more interested in trading back, because I think some of these guys can be had even later.

The Best NFL Free Agent at Every Position

5 potential splash signings that could have a huge impact

Every team has its own unique strategy to how it approaches free agency. Some use it to plug holes, while others improve by spending big for immediate impact. Usually, perennial contenders fall more into the former category than the latter, but we’re hoping that changes this offseason. These are our favorite splash signings that could push a franchise over the edge in 2018.

JIMMY GRAHAM TO THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
Jimmy-Graham-Dream-Splash.jpg

This is the type of splash that comes when you cannonball off the high dive. The Patriots offense plays matchups more than any team in the NFL and even in his early 30s, Graham is still the definition of a mismatch. Few defenses in the NFL have a defender capable of manning up on Rob Gronkowski.

Exactly zero of those teams then have another capable of bodying Graham. His yards per route run may have dipped from 1.91 in 2016 to 1.12 this past season, but his touchdown production increased from seven to 10. Russell Wilson had the highest completion percentage in the red zone when throwing into contested situations of any quarterback this past season, and Graham was a big reason why.

SAMMY WATKINS TO THE GREEN BAY PACKERS
Sammy-Watkins-Dream-Splash.jpg

The Packers could clear out almost $20 million in cap space next season with the stroke of a pen and not miss much from their receiver room. Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb have incredibly bloated contracts compared to their on-field production of late and are prime candidates to be either cut or restructured. That space would be more than enough to get an upgraded running mate for Davante Adams, who signed a long-term deal at the end of the 2017 season.

A Watkins-Adams one-two punch would be the best the Packers receiving corps has looked since the famous 2011 group. The biggest knock on the Packers receivers of late has been their inability to separate versus man coverage and despite a down 2017, Watkins can still get open with the best of ‘em.

MALCOLM BUTLER TO THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

The long-rumored trade from last offseason could end up coming to fruition for New Orleans in the form of a signing. Butler would fit in perfectly across from Marshon Lattimore to round out the Saints secondary. Butler has a long history of tracking receivers in New England, but was usually limited to the smaller, shiftier receivers.

That’s no problem with Lattimore in the lineup who has shown he’s capable of tracking any receiver in the league. Last season Lattimore tracked number ones six times during the regular season – and every game from Week 14 on. Butler had a down year grade-wise at only 79.2 overall, but still tracked receivers on 10 separate occasions last season.

KIRK COUSINS TO THE MINNESOTA VIKINGS
Kirk-Cousins-Dream-Splashv2.jpg

The crown jewel of the free agent quarterback market heading to one of the most complete rosters in football is a scary thought to the rest of the NFL. Cousins finished with his lowest grade as a starter this past season, but was still at 78.8 overall.

While it’s concerning that Cousins play dipped as the talent around him crumbled in Washington, he’d be going to a Vikings team that featured two top-10-graded receivers in Adam Thielen (84.6 overall) and Stefon Diggs (85.4). Cousins is a far more proven option than Case Keenum and a far less fragile option than Sam Bradford. It won’t be cheap, but the Vikings would lock themselves into Super Bowl contention for the foreseeable future by nabbing Cousins.

DION LEWIS TO THE SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
Dion-Lewis-Dream-Splash.jpg

Arguably the most impressive fact about Jimmy Garoppolo’s scintillating end to the 2017 season was that he was doing it with one of the least talented offenses in football. Their most dynamic playmaker, Marquise Goodwin, was an afterthought in a non-existent Buffalo Bills passing attack the year prior.

Lewis combines superb between the tackles vision with game-breaking receiving ability that would take a ton of pressure off Jimmy G. The Patriots running back led all fulltime backs this year in elusive rating and has always been among the best in that statistic.

Here’s a “what if” for Trader Les...

So, you come to the board to look at a blank screen, JRobinson?

Too many thread topics to suit you? Lol.

Now I think that I’ve heard everything.

Feel perfectly free to not click on any thread topic that doesn’t interest you, man.

Nah bud. I come on the boards to read topics that are relevant and not just stating obvious facts. Speciation threads, like this one and the other two you started, seem like topics to get click bait; you got me... sucked me right in.

So the question is, why not state your speculation statements in one thread instead of flooding the forums?
