R.I.P Anthony Bourdain

.... but not the way he came across (kinda had that elitist, holier than thou persona).
Agreed.

But I loved how he went to places that no one ever would think of going, or heard of. .....
That is what the art of food and drink is all about. Sadly, such experiences are too expensive for the common man. I didn't like his TV personna. Maybe I would have liked him if I hadn't been on the inside of the culinary arts world.

I will say that I enjoyed his writing. I wish I had half of his skill.

When it comes to wine, beer, and spirits, Chefs are usually "know it alls" or they are dismissive. Bourdain was dismissive.

The truly elite chefs that I've been around are neither "know it alls" or dismissive.... they humble and open minded about wine, beer and spirits

To me, he was an above average foodie, a gifted entertainer and elite journalist..

2018 Rams Season ticket relocation program....

Forgive me if there's another thread, I didn't see it. For anyone who has tix, or is interested, there are some pretty decent seats available through either new tix sales or the relocation program (more of course than the new)

I'm pretty frikken stoked! I didn't think there would be any decent seats left on the home side for relocation. Especially with the renovation. I have six tix, 4 way up in 11L row 79, and I bought 2 over on the sun side just the other day, 20h row 50. I was able to relocate all 6 to section 5H, row 24! 5-10 yd line. Gonna be so easy coming into gate 4 and we're right there!

Point is...there are some decent seats out there!

8 NFL teams with best chance to build a dynasty

The Jags are a really talented team, but no, they are not more talented than the Rams.

If they want to put the Eagles over us, fine, they are the current champs... but my inner-Homer thinks we will have the most talented 53 men in 2018.
The good news is that I agree, Bad News. Top to bottom, I do not think there is a question that we have the best roster. Special teams is often dismissed in these rankings.

You take the 53-man rosters into consideration, it is the Rams, then a handful of arguable #2s.

Will Suh Overcome His Penalty Problems?

It will be interesting for sure. I have to think that some of that rage comes from being doubled and tripled almost every snap. There is always dirty shit happening at the line and if you have two to three people doing it to you where the refs can't see it, that would cause many people to explode. If you have shown a propensity for it, that is likely to make the coaches of the other team tell their players to try to get him to explode.

There's no excuse for some of what he has done in the past. But maybe just maybe this is a new kind of situation for him. He might feel a little more free out there. And if he can thump the QB before the whistle, maybe he will get his fix that way instead of through stupid acts of frustration.

Supplemental Draft Steal?

Why take a CB this year? It would be a waste of a season... so you would essentially only get 3 years out of him... IF he works out.

They are loaded at CB with Shields as the 4th and Hill as the 5th CB... and Hill played well down the stretch last year.

Wait until next year when you have more time to evaluate players then use that pick on a CB, if needed, and get 4 years out of him.

Thank you !! Was waiting for someone to bring up Hill!! Shields as well. I like Peterson as well, but the depth is crazy good right now at CB for The Rams.

Jared Goff comes in at #38 in the top 100.

Jared only got better as the season went on too. His numbers after the bye are pretty eye popping.
163/255
63%
19 TDs
3 INT
2085 yards

Over a full season thats:
326/510
63%
38 TDs
6 INTs
4,170 yards

Those are elite numbers.
Right on, furthermore we were the #1 scoring offense! That doesn't happen without superior QB play!
I think he exceeded all of our expectations, including the whole league.
I just don't get the nitpicking.

NFL executives grade every team's offseason (ESPN Insider)

Peters will perform well this year because it's his first year and his personality seems to take time to rub people the wrong way. He should also perform well next year because it will be his contract year. So to say the Rams should get two good years from him is accurate IMO.

But all that aside I do not think he'll be signable. That dude is going to want to test the market.

If Talib sustains good play--which I think is certainly possible in this scheme--I could see him wanting to stick around long term. I think it's also safe to say we should get two good years from him, because even if his play drops off a bit you have Peters drawing the top matchup in man looks.

Suh is a signing I was not a fan of and still am not a fan of. Hope he kills it for us of course, so we'll see how it turns out.

Cooks is a fine fit for this offense, a better fit than Watkins was due to his precise route running ability. Adding Cooks for a round one pick was fine and all, but the fact it came on the heels of spending a round two pick on a one year rental of Watkins gives me pause. This could well be a one year rental again if they don't get him locked up before the season.

For myself, and since Cooks is not yet signed, I'd be more on the B+ side overall for the offseason, because the Rams moved pieces and went young and unproven at many LB spots but have yet to get anyone locked up with that cap space they created. As good as that Cooks trade was, if they don't sign him, it's damn near a catastrophe to my eye at least.
